    Hi,

I am planning to fly to Croatia on 7th July and stay 14 days. I will then fly out to Miami, via Istanbul on the 22nd. Has anyone had any issues with proving they were in Croatia for the full time? I've read other posts that say I wont get my passport stamped, as I am coming from another Eu country. Are AirBnB receipts and boarding passes acceptable as proof? Does anyone who has done the same route have any other tips or hint that I should know about?

Also my final destination will be Denver, is it fine for me to leave Miami airport to stay in a hotel for the evening before my flight to Denver the next day?

    Thanks in advance!

Hi, I’m in Croatia flying to Istanbul on the 9th and Miami on the 10th. Just ask them specifically for a stamp and they will stamp your passport if you explain them your situation and plans.

For those planning to quarantine/are quarantining in Croatia, what are your flights for getting to USA? Those that I've seen only have stop overs in currently banned countries? Seems a bit redundant/expensive. It seemed like a good option potentially until having a look at flights.

So what I’m doing on July 9th with two other girls, we are flying Zagreb- Istanbul and will arrive in the evening 11pm, we will spend one night at jotel which is a hotel directly in the Istanbul Terminal you won’t even go through passport control. The next day 1pm we are flying to Miami.
I recommend everyone to get the flight aware app. You can check all the flights from the days before to make sure none were cancelled. The flights we are taking have the flight numbers TK1056 and TKY77.

Can I know which proof of the quarantineCBP ask at the border?
For instance, if I quarantine in Croatia and I'm Italian, my passport won't be stamped or scanned.
    It's the airbnb receive enough?

    Thanks

Simply ask them to stamp your passport I did the same and they asked why and after I explained it they were super nice and happy to

do so. But I’m also having my Airbnb write something. The more the better.

  4. Hi guys, so I’m in Croatia flying to Istanbul July 9th, will stay at jotel which is a hotel right in the terminal so I don’t have to leave the airport and July 10th I will fly to Miami.
For everyone who’s worried about the flights from Turkish airlines, June 16th, 22nd and 24th and today (June 29th) flights from Istanbul- Miami have arrived. Also to Lax on June 24th, June 26th and today June 29th.
So Turkish airlines is operating very well now! Therefore Croatia seems to be a better and better option. 🙂 just for people who are looking to spend 14 days somewhere. Croatia is very affordable food wise and I’m staying right on the beach for 10 days and on the 4th I’ll drive to Zagreb to spend the rest there until my flight leaves.
I will of course update you on the 10th or 11th of July how everything went. Will be arriving/ traveling with esta but have called many different airlines and airports and they all said it would be no problem.

Hi everyone! I decided to take the plunge and fly to Serbia next week, and I have a flight to NYC on the 18th! I will be staying in an Airbnb, is there anything I might have problems with? The host will send my information to the police, is there anything else I should be mindful of?

Also, stupid question but, does anybody have experience booking extra checked luggage at the airport? My flight is with KLM with layover in Amsterdam, but I think because part of the flight is with Air Serbia it wasn't possible to book a second checked bag online, the website says I have to do it at the airport, but I have never done that!

Is your layover in Amsterdam on the way to Serbia or on the way to the US?? Because even if it’s just a layover you’re not allowed to enter the US if your layover was in a country that is banned. Just making sure 🙂

Who have flown with Turkish airlines?

    How was your experience?

I am in Croatia right now just because I was able to drive there and also I’m spending my time right by the beach for 10 days and then I will go to Zagreb the last few days and will be flying to Istanbul and then Miami. Before flights were a bit iffy but my brother is a pilot so he was able to get more insight.
Starting Monday June 29th, flights to Miami will go 3 times a week.

I am flying to Miami June 10th and I’m pretty sure the flight will go- if I see the other flights before that all get cancelled I’ll just fly to Belgrade. So I have a plan b but feel confident with Turkish airlines not being a problem in July.
Also if this works without any issues, this would be a great option for many. I rather stay by the beach in Croatia than in Serbia somewhere- so I am hoping everything works out, I’m here with 2 other girls that are going through the same journey and we will be on the same flights.
I will of course update you June 10th!
cross your fingers for us 🙂

Hey! Thank you for this info. I just called the embassy of turkey and they are not allowing anyone else in besides Nationals like you said. Mexico it is :) May I ask what hotel you are staying in?

    Thanks again!

I can’t find any information of Turkey only allowing nationals. Called Turkish embassy and the Istanbul airport all telling me it’s been lifted June 12th plus all the websites linked by airports and airlines are also saying all restrictions have been lifted June 12th. Could you tell me exactly who and when you called? I’d appreciate it.

  8. Hi, I’m happy to hear from more and more people that they are entering the US successfully. So I will be driving from Switzerland to Croatia on Wednesday the 24th of June. I hope I can fly from Zagreb to Istanbul to JFK July 9th, if not I’ll go to Serbia too for a day and hopefully enter that way. Having a lot of back up plans. I’ll enter with ESTA and I own a home in Florida. So I hope that will be no problem.
I just have two questions - 1. can I enter any airport in the US or does it have to be a certain one. I know there is a list of airports however I don’t understand what does are for and when you are only allowed to enter the US over those airports? I hope you understand what I mean. So with a german passport, spending 14 days in a non banned country are the only specific airports I can enter?
    2. When I stay in Croatia and can’t get a flight from Zagreb, will there be no issue flying to Serbia and directly flying to the US? I don’t need to stay another 14 days right?

I did talk to the boarder in Croatia since I will be entering by car and they will write and stamp something showing when I entered Croatia.

So far Air Serbia has had successfully flown to JFK. Definitely watch airlines and national news about Serbia and border restrictions. Right now Serbia is completely open. Beat of luck with the upcoming EO deadline.

For Croatia, be sure to complete the Ministry of interior's border entry form. Croatia is using the technicality of pre-paid bookings may count as business to allow visitors in. So just tell Croatia's border police it's for touriam and show them your paid booking for the hotel/airbnb/vacation rental/boat etc. For more see Total Croatia News.

Depending on your flexibility consider exploring Croatia a little. We did a 1 week in Dubrovnik and a second week in Zagreb and it was absolutely fantastic despite the anxiety of a canceled flights every week.

I'd strongly suggest having a backup plan for your exits and boarder crossings. Although, it looks like most boarder restrictions are loosening ever slightly and more flights are flying. For instance when Turkish Airlines canceled, we switched to Air Serbia. When Serbia Air canceled all Croatia-Serbia flights until July we were eying buses and car rentals. My understanding is Serbia is open but Croatia is not open to Serbia. We'll be driving from Zagreb to Belgrade tomorrow so we hope we can confirm this!

Best of luck with your plans!

Thank you for all the helpful information. I’ll be staying in a Mobil home kind of town almost direct by the beach where they have small homes you can rent. Then I’ll drive to Zagreb and spend 4 days there before hopefully flying.

When did you originally plan to fly to the US before you flights got canceled? I’m guessing it was always the Istanbul- US flight that got cancelled? I hope this will be less of an issue in 3 weeks, when I’m flying.

  10. Hi guys,

So I live in Zurich Switzerland and own a home in Florida and also my boyfriend lives there.

After thinking about it for a long time- I decided to go to Croatia on the 24th and fly to the US on July 9th. For me this is the easiest way since I can easily drive to Croatia in 7 hours.
I know many people are unsure about Turkish airlines however with everything there is a risk and starting July they will have many new flights (my brother is a pilot in Switzerland and has some insights).

I hope everything goes smooth and as of now the only thing I’m concerned with are the flights from Istanbul to the US (probably New York)- keep your fingers crossed for me please. If anyone went to the US from Croatia please share!
There are risks no matter which way you decide to go- I’ll update you if there’s anything new!

Sending everyone a lot of strength during these crazy times-

    Jenny
