By the way, have you heard about western sahara or even algeria in the history? i dont think so, but you would find a lot about the kingdom of morocco, which was a great empire. Sorry guys, you would say the same if someone attack and says BS the States.

On 31 October 1975, Morocco and Mauritania invaded Western Sahara as Spain (the former colonial power) looked on. The Saharawi people were expelled from their homes by force, including the use of napalm. Most fled to the Algerian desert.

Mauritania withdrew its claim to Western Sahara in 1979 and left. But Morocco stayed. The Saharawi people declared their own Republic in exile, which is now recognised by 60 other states. Yet the world still refuses to uphold international law and bring the Occupation to an end.

The Saharawi liberation movement, known as the Polisario Front, fought the Moroccan army for 16 years, reclaiming a small section of their country. In response Morocco built a 1,000-mile long wall, heavily fortified and mined, which divides the Saharawi refugees from those who still live in the Occupied Territories.

Tens of thousands of Saharawi people still live under Moroccan occupation in Western Sahara. Although Saharawis have ruled out terrorism as a political tactic, their lives and activities are severely constricted by a harsh security state.

The Saharawi flag is banned and speaking out for an independent state is illegal. Merely calling for human rights is enough to get organisations closed down and their leaders imprisoned. Yet Saharawis continue to speak out.

Over 500 Saharawi are still ‘disappeared’ in Moroccan custody, possibly surviving as political prisoners. Many have not been heard from for nearly 30 years. Relatives have been imprisoned and tortured for campaigning to know the truth about their fate.

Saharawi workers face greater exploitation than Moroccan settlers. Those who campaign for independent trade unions have been violently mistreated.

A peaceful demonstration in May 2005 led to harsh repression and an uprising in the Occupied Territories. Demonstrators were arrested in large numbers, some receiving over 10-year prison sentences.

Shame on you, without Morocco. Algeria wouldnt get its independence, Your president was born in Morocco, half of your generals are Moroccans, half of your country were of Morocco till the french came and took parts of our country to add it to algeria as they were planning to make Algeria a colony forever. Mauritania, historicaly was a part of Morocco. Now Algerians and those polisario thieves are starting theirs dirty job. They are using some poor people and force them to live in a camp in the middle of nowhere, getting money and food from the UN and some europeans countries, those money end up in the gang of polisario pockets and the food is sold inside Algeria and Mali and so on... By the way the so called western sahara is Moroccan and will still, people gave theirs lives for it and they are and they will, i will go back when a dirty war begins by the Algerian gov and its ###### the polisario gang. I dont have problems with algerians, but their gov and people like you. la3anaka allah waja3ala chororakom fi nohorekom.

I was born in the begining of the 80s, in those years i grew up hearing or listening to lots of great bands, singers that my elder brothers and theirs friends listen to (Bob marley, Nass elghiwane, Alpha blondy...) . Raina Rai was one of those bands and the song Ya zina was the bomb besides Til Taila. I made a Cd with different moroccan songs and some of Raina Rai ones. These days i am listening to Dahman elHarachi. Such songs bring lots of memories especialy while you are away from where you came from. RIP Djillali.

There are private schools that teach french, they are everywhere and the price differs from place to place, depends on how big they are and the location. Teach your kid arabic/moroccan too, how he will communicate with others? yes there are people who try to enforce french on moroccans and they use it in some places or some jobs but we dont use french to communicate between us. It's like brining a kid to the states and enroll him in a spanish or german school. In fact in Morocco we are open to others and we learn many languages, so teaching him french alone wont help him. I am Moroccan too, i do all my islamic duties and fast every ramadan just like when i was back home. We buy meat from grocery stores in here. Although the meat has to be Halal which means the cow, lamb or the sheep have to be slaughterd in the islamic way, which of course is not done in this country by whoever slaughters the meat found in grocery stores. I dont think it's a big deal, because here is a non islamic country and sometimes it's not easy to get halal meat or it's just expensive. My wife (USc) bought me one day two pieces of lamb from an arabic store, it was frozen, small amd expensive.

Neither you nor him has to change your life at home, you will eat the same things except he cant eat pork or drink wine. By the way in case you dont know, pepperoni in general has pork. We didnt know about that, so we had some pepperoni pizzas when we were in Morocco (from pizza hut) and when i came here. :bonk:

I think what you were told by the person in the embassy is what has to be done. If the green card holders plan to be outside the U.S for more than 6 months, they have to apply for a re-entry permit. In your case, you didnt apply for the permit before leaving the country and you stayed outside more than 6 months.

It is an immigration issue i think. Based on your timeline you are a conditional permanent resident, i mean you have a 2 yrs green card, right? if yes then you will have to apply to remove the condition as soon as you get divorce.

I filed without any affidavit and got approved after less than two months. Leave such thing till they send you a RFE. I wrote names of people who know us as a couple and theirs phone numbers, sent it with the file.

No you dont need to send a copy of passport when you apply for ROC. FYI, i saw he's from from Morocco like me, he will have to go to the consulate to get the new biometric passport because they will need to take his fingerprints all over again. Unless he has the new ID (which you said it's expired too) then he can apply for the passport by mail.

Congrulations to all who have approved till now...

Now, I am starting to get worried about my husband's approval... July filers are getting approved (no offense to anybody) who had biometrics around 08/17 before or after and our case only had one touch on 08/18, nothing after that...

I hope we get our surpise text msg or e-mail soon of getting "approved"....

I woke up. turned my cell phone on, and there was that magical text msg asking me to check my case status. On September 8, 2010, we ordered production of your new card. I hope everyone will be happily surprised like i was. Alhamdolillah (thanks god) and thank you all the support and info, we are like family in this website. :thumbs:
