  1. Well, I took the bar exam, without much of a panic attack! :goofy: Then on friday last week, my fiance called to tell me he got packet 3!!! yippy! Minor snag however: his parents have no birth certificate for him. And it sort of sounding like they never had one for him (just a receipt from the hospital....sounds to me like they bought him at the baby store!). So now we must wait 20 working days for an official copy of the birth certificate. :( He doesn't want to send back the checklist until two weeks from now so that he doesn't end up with an interview before the birth certificate arrives. On top of all that, I tried to send the huge packet of paperwork I've gotten together, but his only address is a PO box, and DHL won't deliver to a PO box. I woke him up in the middle of the night to get a different address but he was clearly half asleep and in no condition to be giving me a different address. I just don't trust the post office after they lost some very important photographs that my grandmother tried to send through the mail.

I swear, after all the stress i've gone thru this summer, I'll be lucky if I have my sanity come fall.

On a side note, however, I watched an episode of Bridezillas where the birdezilla in question had a major melt down from all the "stress." I had no sympathy for her at all!

    Good luck!!!!

I am so stressed!!! I almost fight every day with my Fiance because of all this paperwork :crying: Yesterday I understood my mistake and asked him to forgive me

US Consulate gave us 3 weeks only for everything... I hope docuemnts will be on time....

I know what you mean. My fiance and I have been having little fights! I know its just all the stress and it will pass.

We got our letter from the consulate last week. Our interview is on August 15th in Montreal. Hang in there everyone. Your times are coming. B)

    Congrats!

She just had her K-1 interview at the Ciudad Juarez, Mexico American consulate and was APPROVED!

It's been a long process but I'm so glad its done...now onto worrying about the AOS!!!

    congratulations!!

  2. My husband came through JFK from Nigeria and he ended up missing his connecting flight and was stuck in New York for 10hours. Immigration held him for about 3 hours. 5-6hours should be sufficient enough.

Did he find out what "alerted" immigration to cause them to hold him for so long? What did they do while they were holding him?

It wasn't just him, he said that all the nigerians with the visa packets were processed last. Most of the time, they were just sitting and waiting

didn't they just go thru the line, or did they get pulled to the side?

  3. Well I think it is the non-USC who they won't let in without an appointment. I am pretty sure that a USC travelling abroad can always get into our own embassies. I think for the non-USC in Lagos, they cannot come in until after 11am.

Well let me clarify. I think they won't let the non-USC in the embassy without an appointment until 11am at which time they can go to the "Inquiry Line."
