CR1 is what you have... if you filed after 2 years of marriage before your i-130 got approved then you get IR1 for 10 years green card.

It doesn't work that way. My husband filed in February 2018 and my status was automatically updated to IR1 by the time my case got to NVC (December 2019) because my marriage was 2yrs by then (Got Married in December 2017). I got a 10yrs GC when I came to US.

Thank you so much. However, do I have to send a mail first to inform them that it has expired or just wait till I get a mail from them? Also, can I go ahead to book for medicals (since I have many passport with me already) so there won't be any rush when they eventually mail me.

Hello. You should try contacting embassy first before booking for medicals or making any payments. Also, don't wait for them to send you an email before writing them because I doubt they will reach out. I attached an excerpt from a reply I got from them concerning intending immigrants with expired visas (like your case).

You can try this email support-nigeria@ustraveldocs.com if their regular lagosIV@state.gov doesn't work

Sorry, me again. Do you have any other source for this? I see this mentioned under the link that you posted, but nowhere else. The most recent presidential amendment to the proclamation doesn't have any language of this kind, and the original proclamations still don't list them as exempt. I wish for this to be true, but it would be strange if only DOS states it?

Unfortunately, that's the only source I've seen. I want to believe that info on travel state gov site is legit enough. Hopefully they update it somewhere else too.

But from my understanding on this updated version, the exception covers all other proclamations that has to do with coronavirus ban and not only this recent proclamation.

The only way one can be very sure this is real is if they schedule interviews for the F2A categories before the end of the year. Until then, we'll keep our fingers crossed.

If this is an IR-5 case, they won't be able to re-issue the visa as new IR-5 visas are banned until at least 2021.

There is now an updated version (on 29th June) of the proclamation that exempts IR5 category as long as the USC filer is unmarried. It also exempts spouse of green card holders (F2A) and their children, siblings of USC as long as they are married. Some other categories were also included. This is the updated version https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/News/visas-news/presidential-proclamation-coronavirus.html?fbclid=IwAR3yNPaYEc8cAFb2qbQOlzDzD2bsXQeRkc7qnm6VcusJwvEvJbXNgAdTBg4

You are F2A? What was the expedite request supposed to accomplish? The visa category is suspended until at least January 2021 so there’s nothing to be expedited. The email is probably the nice way of NVC telling you this.

According to an updated version of the proclamation on June 29th, spouses and children of green card holders are not subject to the proclamation (same thing as US spouse and children).

The updated version also exempts parents (IR5) of US citizens as long as the USC is unmarried. And also siblings of US citizens (F4) as long as both the USC filer and the siblings are unmarried. Hello my people please how long does it take for nvc stage to be completed to set up an interview date. Please how many pictures of me and my wife do we’ve to upload for nvc?

    thank you

Well it all depends. In my case, an interview letter was sent to me one week after I was DQ'd. Though the interview was slated for the following month (less than 2 months). I think it takes lesser time for some and more for others.

Also for the picture upload, I guess it's passport photo (at least that's what I uploaded). You will need to take the other photos of you and your spouse for interview instead.

Ok can he use the w2 of previous job? Cause he just got a new job about a week ago. And the new job is what he stated in AOS form

I believe so, as long as that was what reflected in the tax return he gave you. Just ask him to scan or give you the W2 form he used to file the tax return.

  8. 5 hours ago, Danova said:

Ok thanks again. In some of the tax return pages, I saw w2 summary and w2 spreadsheet, does it mean they added it inside the tax returns? Or what I saw is different from the main w2? Getting tax transcript is kinda hard now

Yes, tax return and W2 forms are totally different. That's why there are separate 'boxes' for uploading both. You can Google W2 to have an idea of how it looks like.

Yes I heard getting tax transcript is hard now. Just trying to make sure you don't get Rfe like I did cos it causes delay in approving. But make sure you upload both forms (tax return and W2) simultaneously.

  9. 3 hours ago, Danova said:

Thank you so much for the full details. What is w2? Though he left his formal job for the current new job, he has not been paid yet, so please elaborate on it. And how can he go about the w2?

From what I understand, W2 is being issued by the place of work for Tax filing. You can't file Tax without it. Since he has his tax return, your co-sponsor will definitely have the W2. Ask the person about it, he will understand. Tell him it's compulsory you upload it with the tax return. Better still, if he can request for tax transcript asap, he should.

Please what documents did you submit for the AOS? I’ve a co-sponsor as well, what should they submit ? Apart from tax returns

I used a co-sponsor as well. For co-sponsor, we submitted his AOS, passport photo page (for proof of status), poof of domicile/evidence of residence in US (we used his driver's license for that) and tax return. It's advisable to submit a Tax Transcript instead of tax return cos we got an Rfe to submit his W2 as well.

If tax transcripts is not available, then submit tax return and W2 at the same time.

    I got this information today.

    Is it advisable?

You can try if the flights are not reserved for their citizens alone. Also note that the evacuation flights are not free (you have to pay for them). Also, you'll have to pay for flight to your final destination since their stop is in Washington.

You’ll have to wait for like 2-4 weeks for uscis to mail your package to nvc, then another 1 -2 weeks for nvc to asign a case number and invoice.

NB: you’ll be the one to get the package from nvc via email and postal mail. You’ll get email first then they will also mail it to your postal address, after that, your husband can now head to ceac website, login and fill the form 261- which contain his email, your email and agent email.

i will use my F1 case as an example, my case got approved on 1st of Jan 2020, then I called nvc after 2-3 weeks to know if they have received my case but they said no, and should call back in 7 working days. I didn’t call them back but on 1st of April my dad got case creation notice also known as welcome letter I guess, the letter contain my nvc case number and invoice and instruction to login.

They changed their method. I think they only send email to both petitioner and beneficiary, they've stopped sending postal mail (at least we didn't receive one). Also, you don't need to fill any form 261 again. You just go ahead with payments (AOS and immigrant fees) and documents uploads.

Thank you for your quick response, Enie!

I have uploaded all the documents required (AOS, tax returns, all civil documents). It is only the Submit Document button that is not working.

    And all documents show "Uploaded".

I am confused since the Submit Button is not active for me to use.

Oh! That's strange then. Perhaps someone else can help with this issue. And the quicker you submit, the quicker they work on your petition.

Got this message on my nvc portal but couldn't opened it.. I don't know what message nvc is trying to pass across to us... I complete my Ds260 months back and uploaded  other documents but we haven't upload our i864 and tax return transcripts due to the hold up from irs to send the transcript to us... Anybody seen this kinda thing before should help

    IMG_20200412_091148.jpg

You can try using Chrome browser instead of your current one. At least that was what I used to open messages on my portal whenever they sent me one. Just click on the message and wait for few seconds/up to a minute, the full message will come up. Patience is all you need as it doesn't pop up immediately.

Also, you could have submitted 2018 tax Transcript instead of waiting for the current one

    Hello all,

I have a question, Do recipients of IR2 for infant have to pay the immigrant fee? You need an A# to do that, but IR2 recipients don’t have an A#.

From my understanding, you have to file a separate petition for IR2 recipients if the petitioner became a citizen after the birth of the IR2. This means you have to pay all fees (I-130, AOS fees, immigrant fees).

But if the petitioner was already a citizen before the child's birth, then the child is entitled to automatic citizenship after filing some paperwork and paying a fee

The US had already banned travel from Nigeria and other countries back in Feb. That travel ban has not been lifted as far as I know. Nigeria has banned travel from the US to their country also.

Okay let me clarify. My conversation wasn't based on the Trump's travel ban in February but on "coronavirus travel ban". I know the travel ban hasn't been lifted.

    Hi Everyone,

Please i will like to find out the best way to upload form i-864ez on NVC CEAC website.

After filling the form electronically, should i just print out the sponsor signature page(5), then sign, scan and merge it back with the rest and upload?

Or i have to print out every page, scan and upload separately?

Furthermore, the AOS documents should i scan and upload each supporting document separately or whats the best way?

I will like to do this once without my document getting rejected.

    Thanks for support.

    Regards.

Hi. So here's how I did mine. I printed out the form I-864 and my spouse and co sponsor filled with a black pen (don't know if other colours are allowed). Then I used camscanner app to take a picture of each page. I also used the app to put all the 12 pages or so in a PDF format. Then I used a compressor app to decrease the size since it was more than what was required.

I feel its better to print out and fill since most people take the documents to their interview

Also, If a document has multiple pages (like AOS, police cert), they have to be in one file.

Yes, it does only say non-immigrant appointments for now.  Nigeria has also temporarily closed borders to 13 countries, including the US.

Yes and that means citizens and residents from those countries can't enter Nigeria but Nigerians can still travel to those countries (US inclusive). So until those counties close their borders on us, we are allowed to go there.

Though it wouldn't be a good idea to travel now with the situation of things. But you have to travel before your medical or 6 months issued expired. Else you have to start another visa application all over (pay new medicals, new visa fees, gather documents and the likes) which can be stressful.

  19. Hello everyone. I have been a silent unregistered member of this community and I just registered  today. The forums have really been helpful for me.

I got my interview email today and according to the link, I have to create an account online in order to return passport and documents after interview. I tried but it's telling me to enter username and password (as a first timer).

Please how do I create the account or who has the link I can use?!

Also, has anyone be asked to present the public charge form during interview yet?
