Mrs Scott;
If you are doing the K-3, shouldn''t you be doing the I-864, seeing that is a IV? Just checking..
A K-3 is a non-immigrant visa. It is very similar to the K-1 except the K-3 filers are married. Only the IR-1/CR-1 folks complete the I-864.

Scam- Delta Airlines
I agree with Gill. We should contact the FCC. I am on the phone with Delta's Corporate Office (404) 715-2600. J. Masters, Customer Care Rep. has filed a report. Delta is aware of the fraudulent calls that are being made to Sky Miles Members. The representative is trying to find the common link. Are we staying at the same hotel? Do we rent from the same car agencies? I told her that I would contact other VJ members to inquire.

DID U REALLY HAVE TO POST THIS IT IS OUT OF ORDER! OUT OF CONTROL! COULD YOU NOT HAVE LEFT THAT TO A PERSONAL MESSAGE WITH NICKY WE ALL DO NOT NEED TO SEE YOUR BUSINESS THIS IS HURTFUL AND I BELIEVE UR PURPOSLEY TRYIN TO RUB THIS IN AND WHY ARE U EVEN TELLING WHERE NICKY LIVES YOUR A MAD OOMAN
Wow!!!! Jalove I completely agree with you. Nicky I am so sorry you are going through this, you are in my prayers!!! I know I'm new to this but we are all here for you.
Remember ... sometimes when in pain...we do things that don't make sense. I know I have in pain sent out crazy letters to friends and family members telling all my sh** because I wanted to hurt HIM but ultimatly it just made me look foolish. Just remember all both women (if not more) are in pain and probably are just looking for support.
im wondering why lily would join VJ today just to air this business and tell nicky business is what upset me why today? why not give nicky a chance to have aired her business on a site that she frequents daily or keep the most personal details in a PM noone need know where nicky live or that his son is coming then to say give nicky love and support? did nicky vent her issue on here to ask for love and support she didnt post abt this or was even given the opportunity hence her statement of He's telling her that we were just friends, LOL. I have photos, text messages, etc. I've shared it all with Nicky -- but she's in a quandary as to what she should i just feel it a little bit much
OK...time for me to step in on this issue.
I told Lilly and Nicky what I figured out yesterday. And, yes, Marlita, it was because of you posting her pictures that I figured it out. I know Lilly from a couple of other sites and she had posted many pictures of Corey, in the exact same shirt he was wearing in one of those pictures yesterday. I did some research on some previous postings here and there and then I went to the ladies via PM's and told them what I thought. I sent each to the respective websites to verify for themselves. Turns out, I was right. They ended up wanting to talk to one another and after asking permission from both, I gave each the other's information. From there, they are working this triangle out.
Nicky is in denial. She's invested much time, energy, emotions, and money into this relationship and she doesn't see a clear cut answer on what to do. Lilly dumped Corey immediately. I believe Lilly's post was a way of working through her feelings. She loved this guy. If you would read some of her posts, she really loved him. And, he talked words of love and of building a future right back at her. They even discussed LIlly filing a visa for him. She asked me where to start a few months ago. To add insult to injury, Nicky and he were already engaged when Lilly met Corey. She was duped from the very beginning. Anyhow, I believe her posts are her way of trying to get over Corey and this situation. And, a way to show Nicky that he did this to her too......he carried on while Nicky filed for a visa for him and talked about their wedding and their lives together. She really wants Nicky to think about what she is still contemplating. Believe it or not, Lilly took an automatic liking to Nicky and her maternal instincts kicked in. She doesn't want to see her hurt again now or in the future.
Sometimes you have to do bold things to get the point across. That's all that was. Lilly cares enough to want to shock her into really thinking about it. And talking on the phone to her did not seem to be getting this point across.
One last thought for you, Nicky, if you are reading this......if there were two of you and all his family and friends were involved.........how many more could there be out there? Think about it.
Nicky......tune out the thoughts of money and pride and really, REALLY think about this. Please.
That is excatly the kind of person Shawn was telling everyone about last week, I don't know the man and don't want to be too harsh, but I'm wondering right now what his girlfriend in Jamaica would think about all of this. He seem to really like talking about the future to together with ladies he meets, he should have been married by now if he is that much the marrying type, there are women in Jamaica you know, but the thing about jamaican women is that they really don't marry bums.
The only thing this man loves are his sneakers and Jeans, and you can toss in a gold chain here and there. I see visa all over this one. Kick him to the curb Nicky, you can do better, but that is only my opinion.
I've shared my concerns with Nicky about my hunch that there are local women he is involved with -- and I gave her specific reasons why I thought what I thought. She can choose to ignore them if she wants, but the signs are there. The hair had been up on the back of my neck since my visit in August and I was desperately seeking the truth. I can handle anything as long as it's the truth. And, handle this . . . I will. I'm writing a letter to the Embassy with PROOF of my relationship with this man. Although it may not fall into the right hands in time for their interview, I pray that God will see fit to keep this bum in his own country . . . and that he stops preying on American women in search of a Visa. Believe me, Corey's very sweet, soft-spoken, and suave . . . almost innocent and naive acting. He could win over a charlatan with his childish good-looks and romantic swooning.
Silly me. I fell too -- and I'm a grown woman. But, knowing what I know now about him, I can walk away without hesitancy.
I know you have been hurt and the man is a liar but you have NO BUSINESS writing the embassy, I want Nicky to leave the man too but it's no one's business if she decide to stay with him. You are taking this a little to far. I know what went down is kinda crazy but your posts are becoming a little bit overbearing.
I appreciate the opinions expressed that I shouldn't write the Embassy . . . and hopefully, when my hurt and anger subside, I'll agree that it's inappropriate. Right now, I'm not in that space.
This man has devastated me, my teenage daughters, my family . . . and we didn't deserve any of it. Why should he walk scott free for his indiscretions? Why should he be allowed to prosper? And . . . his winfall, is Nicky's downfall.
I won't act in an emotional manner. I will give this much thought and consideration. Right now, I'm having a hard time telling what time it is. It's hard when somebody pulls the rug out from underneath you and you're left to deal with it.
Lilly,
Both you and Nicky are victims. You stated that you are not a mean vindictive woman; however, I beg to differ. Nicky did not hurt you- Corey did. Why be concerned about Nicky's welfare? You don't even know her! If Nicky decides to proceed with the interview, then that is her right. How dare you get in to a verbal warfare with her! How old are you again? In this case, the proper venue would have been to use the PM feature. Are you familiar? If not, I would be more than happy to send you step-to-step instructions.
I am sorry to hear that you spent money on a plane ticket (December). You have two options (1) Cancel the ticket. Use the remaining balance for a future trip. Check with VJ Member Luv Travlin. She is a travel agent. I am sure that she can assist you. (2) Go to Ocho Rios and forget about Corey. This website is supposed to be resourceful. If any thing, it has been a support system. It is not a place to air one's "dirty" laundry.

MY HUSBAND FINALLY GOT A DATE (NOVEMBER 13TH @ 1 PM). I LOVE YOU GUYS.
BIG UP TO FATHER GOD, FAMILY, VJ MEMBERS & SENATOR JOHNNY ISAKSON! I HAVE ALREADY SCHEDULED KEVIN'S MEDICAL. THIS IS SO SURREAL. WE ARE CELEBRATING OUR FIRST WEDDING ANNIVERSARY ON SATURDAY, OCTOBER 20TH. I AM OFF TO JAMAICA ON FRIDAY. I AM SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
hey ladies I have a question. I was married in June and we thought we were going to move to Jamaica but decided we will move to the U.S. We had thought about this before, but now that it is certain I dont really know whether to do the CR-1 or the K-3..what is the difference and which is better and FASTER?!?!
Thanks for coming to the rescue AGAIN
I recommend that you go for the CR-1. It is a better visa than the K-3. Traditionally, the K-3 was quicker. I filed almost a year ago. To date, my husband has not been scheduled an interview.

My case was completed at NVC 10/11/07!!!!!
Any ideas on how long it takes for them to schedule the interview at this point?
not really sure on anytime frame...but it goes from nvc to kingston then they enter it into the system that sometimes can take a liikle bit....then he has to make a appt. and drop of the ds230 then after that is when they schedule a interview
congratz another step closer
Well with the new process, the NVC wants all the paperwork up front. I had to send both DS230 part 1 & 2 to them along with all original documents and police certificate. They set the interview and forward the information to the embassy.
For the CR-1 folks, the NVC is still scheduling November interviews. On Tuesday, October 16th, call 202-663-1225 to see if you have been scheduled an interview. If one has not been arranged, try to call back on Thursday, October 18th. Since your case was just completed on Thursday, you may be looking at a December interview. Keep your fingers crossed. I along with the other VJ members will do the same.

Dang, Ms Scott didn't get a date yet..what is going on..has she called the embassy ?
Per Jenice's advice, I contacted both United States Senators. I just received a letter from Senator Johnny Isakson's office that reads:
Dear Mrs. Scott:
This will acknowledge receipt of your privacy release form.
An inquiry has been forwarded to the U.S. Embassy in Kingston on your behalf. As soon as we receive any information, we will notify you.
Should you have any questions, please contact me in the Senator's Atlanta Office at 770-661-XXXX.
Sincerely,
Charles Spry
Constituent Services Representative
I feel like I'm making progress. Georgia Congressman David Scott nor Senator Kasim Reed never sent a letter. For goodness sake, I filed a complaint three weeks ago.
I just faxed Senator Isakson on Thursday, October 10th (after 4 PM). At least he had the decency to respond. I hope to have some great news to share next week. Thanks to all of you for your support. :whistle

I need help again! My brother in law is under a name check so his Permanent Residency card is delayed. Originally came in on K1 Visa. It has almost been 1 1/2 years and no card yet. the first problem is Jamaica put in the wrong Alien number on his Visa. The second is that his middle name was Craig not Greg. Anyway, we went to Infopass and they said basically continue waiting. Then his EAD needed renewed which they didnt know to do since they assumed the Green Card would come before it expired like most all cases. Now they are faced with the fact that he most likely will have to stop working until its renewed again. I said to contact our senator, but I am not sure how that works. Do you write them a letter or what do you do? I know there were some that went through this before. Can anyone help???
All my stuff is good and its nice to see you all.
Post your question on the Yardie Part 4 Thread.

Someone fresh my memory on Mrs. Scott. Is there any particular reason(s) holding her back from that interview date?
In November of 2006, I filed a K-3 petition. My case was forwarded from the NVC to Kingston (May 2007). I sent my DS-230 via Federal Express (July 24, 2007). The form was not entered until August 10th. I have no idea why my husband has not been scheduled an interview.

Dang, Ms Scott didn't get a date yet..what is going on..has she called the embassy ?
I have called, faxed and e-mailed the Embassy a million times. Every time, I get the same response, "Your husband is eligible for an interview, but a date has not been set." Since I applied for a K-3 Visa, the NVC has nothing to do with scheduling. I have also contacted Congressman David Scott and Senator Kasim Reed in Georgia to see if they could intervene. To date, I have not received any assistance. What's a girl to do? Why do K-1 folks receive faster processing? This process has really put a strain on my marriage. Next week is my one year anniversary, yet my man is still in Jamaica. Other than divine intervention, I don't know what else to do. Milan is also awaiting an interview. Please keep her in your prayers.

At long last, my wife has her interview for the K-3 visa on November 13. Every day we talk two times a day, and often use the word "soon", but now "soon" has a date. I go to China on November 10, accompany her to Guangzhou, anxiously await the interview results, and... being as optimistic as we are... she comes to the USA on the November 20 flight that has already been booked and paid for.
Incidentally... althought this interview is for the K-3 visa, the file for the CR-1 visa has been approved and was forwarded to Guangzhou early in September. So I have emailed the Consulate and asked that the interview be for the CR-1 visa instead of the K-3 visa as both files are there. After their Chinese National Day holiday this next week, I hope to get a response. Will keep you posted. I am floating on Cloud 9!
Congratulations! I hope that my husband will get an interview soon. In November 2006, I filed a K-3 petition. I know that you will be able to sleep better.
-
Does anyone know a way to get your interview scheduled quickly. All this waiting is killing me. I am looking at other people who have interviews scheduled and am getting depressed. My process is almost complete if we can just get a interview. Is bribbery still against the law
Nicky Salmon,
Clairern is correct. The Embassy in Kingston, Jamaica will schedule your fiance's interview. Please visit the Yardie Part 4 Thread. There are tons of folks that have been through the process. In my case, I am still waiting to be scheduled for an interview (K3). K-1 Visas get processed more quickly than others. I filed for my husband (November 2006). Yet, we are still waiting. Check out VJ Members (JA Love or Future Mrs) time line. That will give you a better understanding of the time frame as it relates to Jamaica. PLEASE CORRECT YOUR PROFILE TO REFLECT THE TYPE OF VISA THAT YOU ARE APPLYING FOR (K1). AOS means adjustment of status. Good luck!

USA-Jamaica AKA David & Jenice got approved today!! I can't wait until she returns so that we can celebrate.

Can anyone answer this question for me? I contacted Washington DC and the NVC and they stated that because they only had my husband case for 3 days the visa fees would be collected by the Embassy in Kingston, Jamaica. I have tried to contact the embassy to get an answer to the question but have received no response. I was told that they do not collect visa fees there and that they must be paid at an American Bank. Please advise.
Thanks,
Stressedout!
What type of visa have you applied for (K-3 or CR-1)? I invite you to join the Yardie Part 4 thread. You will have an opportunity to meet other folks that have gone through the process in Kingston. In Jamaica, the visa fee is paid at Paymaster (located in Jamaica). However, the $100 fee is not paid until close to the interview date. If the NVC has only had your case for 3 days, you will have to wait at least 8 months to get an interview.

Hey all. My girlfriend, soon to be fiancee, and I are just beginning the Visa journey. She is Canadian, works in the home health care field, and will likely be getting laid off at the end of February 2008. She could potentially find another job in Canada after February, but it sure seems as though this would be a great time to have her move to the States. We have known each other for 3+ years, been dating for over a year, and I will ask for her hand in marriage (again, this time with a ring!) here very soon (meeting the folks in a few weeks! She still doesn't know exactly when!). She will be going to school here in the States (if all goes well) upon entry, as a LPN (nurse) or nurse's aide (initially). We are confused as to the best options for Visa application, K-1 fiance, K-3 marriage, or possibly even educational visa. We obviously want to be completely up front about the situation and how to best work through the Visa process. Any comments or suggestions as to the best course? In actuality, we are already engaged, I'm a bit old fashioned and will ask her again with a ring (money's been tight until recently). We are planning to get married, though no date set as of yet, in the early Spring to mid Summer of 2008. Any guidance would be most appreciated!
My advice is to go the K-1 route. It is much faster than the CR-1 or K-3 process. I filed for my husband last November, and we are still awaiting an interview. At any rate, good luck!

VISA RECEIVED!!!!! Finally!! My baby will be here tonight!! Am I dreaming????

I just received my IV bill. I discovered the waiting time for an interview for an I-130 out of Montreal could take up to 6 months because they are so shortstaffed in the embassy in Montreal.
My I -129 is on it's way to Vancouver and they're waiting time seems to be a few days for an interview. In light of this should I abondon the I-130 process is there any benefit in letting it continue?
Based on your time line, it seems like you filed a CR-1 not a K-3 petition? At any rate, a CR-1 & K-3 can be filed simultaneously? If one visa goes through before the other, you would simply forfeit the fee.
WE'RE APPROVED!!!!

Congratulations on your approval. I recommend that you go for the IR-1/CR-1 Visa. Therefore, your husband will receive his green card and SS card within 2 weeks of his arrival to the U.S.
