  1. Just got my biometrics letter today!

With all this coronavirus craziness, I will be in a different state from where the appointment is scheduled. Has anyone ever walked in to the biometrics appointment at a different support center or know if anyone who has done it? Do I need to call them in advance or can I just walk in?

    Timeline so far:

    Sent AOS - Feb 21

    Received it - Feb 24

NOAs & biometric letter in the mail - Mar 12

    Biometrics date - Mar 23

Nah, sounds like you're good. The fact that they've cashes the cheques means they've accepted the packet. Sometimes people don't receive confirmation texts for some reason. Just be on the lookout for NOAs in your mail, then you can start keeping track of things with the receipt numbers.

That's so weird that we requested to receive texts and emails but didn't get anything. We signed up for USPS informed delivery though and saw that we have a mail coming in today!

Got noa1 by text for all 3 cases last night . Sent 18th they recieved 24th.

Hoping for work authorization to be speedy .

Congrats! I sent it around the same time and saw that they received my package on the 24th. My check was not cashed until last Friday (3/6) and I have not received any texts or email yet. Should I be concern?

    Thank you for the clarification.

Additionally, can I request expedited EAD in case of a job offer? Or they will deny because I have H1b and currently work and it not severe hardship (career advancement, was not fired)?

I'm in a similar situation. I do not have a job offer yet but I'm wondering if I should even apply to jobs right now since I won't get my EAD in time. I think if you could maybe prove that you are no longer employed at your current job, show all your bills and financial obligations, and show your new job offer, then maybe that will justify you being unemployed as a "financial hardship"?

    Hi, Everyone.

I mailed my AOS application ON February 24, 2020 at Chicago lockbox and USCIS received the package on February 25, 2020. I did know about the public charge rule but I didn't know some forms were updated like I-485/I-864 and you also have to submit an additional form I think. I've used old edition forms for I-485 and I am freaking out because I know my application is going to be rejected because of that. Does anyone have any idea if they're going to return my package? and if I have to pay the fee again and re-send the application? I haven't received NOA/Text msg or anything and I am so stressed and not sure what to do. Also, I am on STEM OPT which doesn't expire until February 2021 so if my AOS application gets rejected then will it affect my existing OPT?

Not sure about the rejection package but I don't believe this will effect your current status in any way. Also, as long as you re-file everything (that is if you do get rejected) before your current OPT expires and your status is pending, you should be okay. Good luck with everything!

Hey guys I just got an update today  “Card is being produced”.

    EXPEDITE EAD TIMELINE

    Request Expedite 01/13/20

    Email asking for evidence 01/14/20

    Evidence faxed 01/15/20

    Expedite request Approved 01/10/20

    -11 days-

    New card is being produced

Congrats! Seems like a really short timeline but I'm sure it was because you were very prepared. If you don't me me asking, what was the evidence needed? Just in case I can avoid it and send everything they need all at once.

Also, when did you initially file the petition?

Honestly if you are that worried about getting NOA1 in time, I'd skip the online filing altogether, and mail in both forms to avoid any confusion. You can pay overnight shipping to make sure everything gets there before the 24th :)

I saw this after I had already submitted the I-130 online haha but good thing I got the NOA1 (online) today! I'll be able to mail everything tomorrow. Really cut it close to the last day!

But I am still not sure if we can file it, I did several research and it says that we need to wait for the approval of I30 before submitting  the AOS

Im still waiting for others to say that it is okay and I hope somebody out there would give us a light.

I've been trying to do more research online as well but the online i-130 is so new that I can't find much.

I wonder if you can just put your receipt number in your i-485 Part 2 Item 3 where it says "receipt number of underlying petition (if any)"?

What kind of Notice did you get? After filing your I30, within a span of 2 or 3 weeksyou should get a receipt. That’s your first NOA

Yes, you need to wait for the first NOA

My husband filed form I-130 online and got the receipt number (starts with IOE and 10 digits) right away. Since it was online, I think our first NOA should be available in his account within the next few days.

Did you file online as well?

Submitted my i130 online yesterday, as today is a holiday i don't think i'd get NOA1 updates. the wait begins

Best of luck to you! Have you gotten your NOA1 yet? I'm getting ready to submit mine as well and am curious on the timeline since I'll be concurrently mailing in other forms (I-485 etc.) and wanted to see if I need to include anything about my online I-130 filing.

I would say no, since they might think you are filing I-130 again. Just include a copy of I-130 NOA1 in your I-485 package

Thank you so much! Since we are submitting the I-130 online, how long does it usually take to receive the NOA1? I am trying to send in my package before Feb 24th so wanted to make sure I can do that.

Be sure to  double check for the current fees as fees do sometimes increase for the new year, so please check. Additionally check the forms as listed above i.e., current version and or edition date. Consider sending tax transcripts instead of the 1040, and W2's. Also consider preparing a cover letter for each form in addition to the main  cover letter. Hope this helps in your preparation of your AOS. When in doubt ask questions.

Question about your I-864 materials...you said to consider using tax transcripts instead of 1040 and W2's but I saw that you also included in Tax Return with W-2 as well as a letter. If we just include tax transcripts and the paystubs from the last 3 months, do you think that is enough?

We can try to gather more information but that would take too long and we would like to submit everything asap.

Thank you for your help on this!

Q: Should I file form I-693 along with all of my initial documents?

A: There is no need. Schedule an examination after the interview date is set.

Q: Do I need to translate my vaccination record etc.? If so, can I translate everything myself?

A: No you should not translate by yourself. Google USCIS certified translator

Q: My husband is filing form I-130 online. Should I also print everything and file form I-130 along with form I-485?

A: if you are filing online why are you printing ?

Q: In Part 1 of form I-765, do I choose 1.a Initial permission to accept employment or 1.c renewal of my permission, since I have used an EAD twice before (once after undergraduate and again after graduate degree)

A:  No that EAD is different . that is OPT

Q: In Part 2 of form I-765, #12, do I select "yes" even though my employer "filed" Form i-765 for me previously?

    A: No

Q: We have a joint lease for an apartment in Raleigh, NC but I commute to work in VA and have another apartment in VA what address should I use for all my forms?

A:  Address where you physically live

Thank you so much for your help!

For a certified translation, I found a USCIS certified website. Do I need to get it notarized as well?
