Good to know! That makes sense. I'm so happy for you and they were able to get an interview. Hopefully soon for everyone else waiting...

Thank you! We were actually surprised they gave us a date since we’ve gotten very little information from Moscow for the past year. I really hope everything works out for everyone.

Thank you for your response! I really want to stick with the Ukraine plan for a number of reasons. Cost is one of them. It’s very inexpensive to rent a decent apartment from what I can tell. There must be a way to make it work; if other people have done it, there must be a way to get it done.

Have you guys thought about Belarus? It’s something we’ve been thinking about other than meeting in Turkey. Americans can enter now and Russians of course.

I emailed the Moscow Embassy in regards to my CR-1 visa application pending at the NVC since March 10th - i am waiting a response and i will post what they tell me. I'm hoping to get a response by the end of the day today or tomorrow.

This is a good response in the sense that it's not automated like they were before. Thanks for the post.

Yes, I emailed the Embassy yesterday morning following a call to the NVC, and about six hours later I got the email. I was actually surprised myself given the current situation and how fast of a response I got. Maybe things are looking up? We’ll see...

Do they do that automatically? Or do you have to submit an extension?

    Hi,

I recently emailed the Moscow Consulate regarding this issue. And here’s the email reply  they sent to me.

“Thank you for your email.  We are aware there are many K1 petitions still pending interview. Once normal operations resume, we will reach out to all those pending K1 interviews, affirm their desire to extend the petition, and schedule interviews. There is no action K1 petitioners or beneficiaries need to take at this time.”

    Sincerely,
    Visa Services Unit
