Based on my knowledge, it is not required. See the link below for more information. DOS currently put the form on hold and will be updated later.

Congratulations my friend!! We all started the journey together and now you got the interview. So happy for you. Good luck!

I am still waiting for my wife's interview date. I hope I get that soon.

For my understanding it is not required. I did not submit it and as of Dec 29, 2020, all of my documents were approved and accepted or "Documentarily Qualified." Now we are awaiting for my husband's interview. Maybe print it out and have it ready to be on the safe side? Now that you brought this up I'm going to have my husband do it as well.

    Hi Tony,
Mine got Documentarily Qualified on May 18th and still waiting for an interview letter. I prepared all my documents very early and so I uploaded everything pretty quick. US embassy in India had been closed since March, but they reopened in September. They are currently rescheduling cancelled interviews and they are in Jan DQs. I hope they move quicker.

    Hi all,

Sorry I haven't been on to update in a while, been super busy with work and family and a few issues getting the right documents - which inevitably delayed us getting around to uploading documents to NVC. Our case was documentary qualified (DQ) on Sept 19, around 10 days after uploading them. We have been lucky so far and not having one RFE.

We're now just waiting for an interview date from the U.S embassy in London, not sure how long that will take but I imagine it won't be too long.

How is everybody else doing, what stages are you all at?

    Tony

Thanks for sharing these, I'm relieved to see this from an official source...I'm sad for many others though, like this journey isn't hard enough.

This suspension and limitation of this proclamation shall not apply to the spouse of United States citizen and any alien who is under 21 years old and is the child of a United States citizen, or who is a prospective adoptee seeking to enter the United States.

So far spouse of USC are exempt.

That's great! Usually it opens up in 2-3 business days.
My wife hasn't got a letter in the mail yet. They don't send the petitioner a mail. They send that to the applicant. We get only emails.

The foundation of American history is family, so they are not gonna separate wives and kids. So there will definitely be an exemption. European travel ban will be lifted within 2 months I think, but I don't know about China.

    Stay safe

    Hi all,

I have paid both of my fees at NVC, now I'm just waiting for somewhere to be open so I can send off up-to-date passport photos, this lockdown has really slowed the documents part down for me.

Did anyone receive a letter in the mail from NVC with their numbers on or just an email?

I'm also feeling anxious about this executive order Trump has announced too, I did read that immediate family members will be exempt from the immigration ban but I'll feel better once I see confirmation from the man himself...mind you, who knows when we can fly to the U.S again anyway (from Europe)

    Stay safe everyone.

    congratulations 🎉 on the fees

yes that’s exactly what I am waiting for , I need to see what the order exactly  states.

speaking of flying it’s for sure a huge mess. At this time we must be safe then anything else.

    be safe.

    Hello

you are currently still in the first stage and will be processed to the next stage usually sooner when ever there is a transfer, where did your transfer from and to? Anyhow every transfer is a good sign.  Unfortunately with this covid 19 will slow it a bit but not much cause immigration it’s still working and approving cases tho,  try to call customer service and insist on transferring your to an Uscis officer the wait is long but at lease you will be able to speak to an uscis office ( ask him to tell you when and where was your case touched by an office ?).

From what I read about the executive order intentions will not affect US citizens.

An administration official familiar with the plans had said earlier the order would be focused on preventing people from winning permission to live and work in the U.S. That would include those seeking employment-based green cards and relatives of green card holders who are not citizens. Americans who wish to bring immediate family to the country would still be able to do so, according to the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity before the plan was announced. About one million people were granted green cards last year.

Trump said that the move would not impact those in the country on a temporary basis and would apply only to those looking for green cards in hopes of staying.

Trump during his press conference confirmed that there would be exemptions. Let’s hope that is for the immediate family relatives. EO will be signed by tomorrow morning.

Congratulations to both Tonka and Grand for getting the NVC case numbers. If you have all the documents ready, it will take only 5-7 days to submit everything. Don’t wait too long. Payment will be cleared in 2-3 business days. AOS application takes 30 minutes. Do the EZ form for AOS if there is only one applicant and you are supporting with your own income. DS260 will take like 2 hours to complete. Then, it is just a matter of uploading documents.
Document review right now take a little over 2 months.

Youssef got approved? I missed that, very happy for you Youssef, sorry it took a lot longer than ours but now the longest part is over. 😁

Thanks also Hermise, I was about to call them on monday but apparently no need, my NVC case was created this morning (it was a nice email to wake up to) so I logged on and I've just paid my AoS fee, now to wait the couple days for the payment to clear...

This feels more real now, especially since they are mailing me directly and not just mailing my wife 😎

On Feb 7th it was approved and I'm not sure exactly when it was sent or received, but it took around 8 weeks to get the email.

I imagine COVID-19 has delayed things a little.

    Thank you Tonka.

I called them once a week after it got approved. They will let you know when they received it. You should be hearing something by now. NVC is still working on cases (creating case number). That is not affected by the coronavirus. Every Monday they update their time frame. Last week they worked on 7 days cases. They crated case numbers for cases that were received on 11th March. This is the link.  https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/nvc-timeframes.html

And congratulations Youssef for getting your case approved.

Mine still hasn't got there yet, or at least I haven't had a letter or an email, I was thinking I'd just wait the 6-8 weeks then call (it's already been 7 weeks) but I'm not sure how coronavirus is affecting the processing.

    Hope everybody is staying safe.

That’s awesome! Congrats. Super happy for you and thanks for posting and updating this chat. I called USCIS today and spoke to a level 2 officer. My case was transferred from Nebraska to Vermont as well PD 2-15-2019.She reported that case is with officer currently. So hopefully will hear something soon. I’m LIN199026****.  😊🙏🏽
