Hi F1990X - you're not alone! I had this same issue with my interview yesterday. It wasn't a birth certificate but a tax return. I was told the same as you, to upload and wait. They also have my passport and my status is also 'refused'.

Frustrated with myself for not taking the correct document but hopefully the process will run by quickly. Be sure to keep us updated.

Sorry to hear mate, I uploaded my birth certificate CEAC. But they also told me shortly after to send the documents as well using the DX couriers service. My visa status has gone from 'refused' to 'administrative processing'. I am hoping this does not take long.

  2. My Visa status just currently says 'refused'. They did say after the interview that I will receive an email in 1-2 days on the next steps. But I have taken a proactive approach based on what the immigrant office said and already uploaded the new birth certificate in the 'Optional documents' section in CEAC. Im slapping myself thinking why I didnt just take both birth certificates at the interview!

  3. Hi Guys,

I had my interview yesterday at the London US embassy. Everything went fine, majority of the documents all good and the interview, until when it came to my birth certificate. Previously I had ordered 2 original birth certificates (1 using a standard service which took really long, so I ordered another 1 but with a priority service). I uploaded one on the CEAC portal. The one I took to the embassy, was not the one I had uploaded...it was the other one! My heart literally sank because I knew what the problem was. The application reference number on my birth certificate did not match regardless of it coming from a certified source. Because the application reference number did not match...they refused the visa and they just told me that all I need to do is upload this on CEAC (The one I had presented to them at the interview). Has anyone been in this silly situation before and how long will it take? FYI, they still have my passport.

    Regards,

I just checked my old DS260 confirmation page and the number is just under the barcode area of the page.

Hi thanks for your reply. Where is the ds260 confirmation page? When i sign in using my case number and invoice number it just shows my applications that i have submitted and says complete. But there is no bar code etc on the main page. Do i need to click somewhere to find this?

You can view and print this from CEAC anytime. But I believe you have also received an email after submitting your DS 260. That email contains the confirmation page where you'll find your confirmation number.

Can you please let me know where to locate this on CEAC? I have been trying to find this but cant seem to find this anywhere on my CEAC account

  6. Hi everyone,

    happy new year.

I have my interview in about 3 weeks and would need to register for the courier service for me to obtain my passport back on time etc. When registering it is asking me for my case number which is fine but also my DS260 confirmation number. I believe this was given to me when submitted the DS260 application. Unfortunately I cant seem to find this number anywhere and I think it is only given at that time when submitting. Can anyone advise on how to obtain this number? It would be much appreciated.

    Thanks,

  7. Hi Guys, hope you are all well and safe!

I just received my DQ from NVC and from my understanding, I need to wait for NVC to schedule my interview. Do you guys know the timeline of when will I receive the interview date? I have booked a trip to the US for christmas to visit my wife and I am a little worried it might overlap.

  8. Hi guys, my NVC case just got approved today and they are currently now arranging a date for my interview. However, I have a concern as I have booked a flight to the USA for Christmas in December to visit my wife but will be coming back in early Jan. Is there any complications in doing this? FYI I have done this back in July 2020, as we are exempt from the travel ban due to us being married to a US spouse.

  9. Hi All,

Just letting you all know that my I130 has now been approved! Yay. It got approved on June 6th 2020. I have already received my NVC welcome etc and processing the DS260, I864, Financial/civil documents. However, I am little confused. As I am going through consular processing, I would need to do a medical (£330) which is pretty expensive. I am not sure whether this should be done now or closer to the interview date (Whenever that is). I want to avoid having to do a medical twice because of some expiration date or something. The embassy in UK are currently closed and not sure until when? Is anyone in this sort of position? Thanks.

  10. I have my flight to the USA booked on the 2nd of July. In the proclamation it states that an Alien Spouse married to a US citizen is exempted from the travel ban. I do have an ESTA that is valid until Aug 2021. However to provide some comfort and reassurance that I will go back to the UK i would also bring the following:

    - My marriage certificate

    - A scanned copy of my wife's passport (to link the name to the marriage certificate)

    - A letter from my current job (on letter-headed paper) stating that I am working and I have x amount of projects that I need to come back for and that I am on a 3 months notice period. I mean to be honest the unemployment rate in USA is sky high so why on earth would a person with a job take a risk like that.

What I will do lastly this week is to call up and find out if my esta is still valid based on the proclamation or if I need to reapply for one.

I am hoping the above would satisfy the officers at the US borders.

  11. Hi, is there anyone from the UK petitioning with a PD in November 2019? There has been no movement with my case at all. I have messaged USCIS directly explaining there are a few petitions I have seen been provided updated dates. Meaning atleast there is some movement with the case. They just said its within the processing times and nothing has been red flagged etc. This waiting game is killing us. No updates at all!!

  12. Hi :)

Let me know if your husband encounters any problems at the border. But I do hope it goes well and you are able to see him.

I am married to a US Citizen in Florida and would like to see my wife ASAP. I have a ticket for the 2nd July so I hope I get to see her. My visa is currently in the process and there has been ZERO movement since my PD which is 1st November 2019 :(.

I was planning to take with me the following for my journey:

    - Marriage certificate

    - Official letter from my employer explaining that I intend to come back to work and have several projects to attend.

    - Copy of my wife's passport and driving license

    - depending if there any any official antibody tests, I was going to show this also for a sign of 'immunity'

    Thanks.

  13. Hello all,

To revive this topic again I would like to understand something.

I am currently have a ESTA visa which is valid for 2 years. I applied for this visa in September 2019 however, me and my wife have submitted the I130 petition in November 2019 which is currently pending. As the visa is valid for 2 years, am I allowed to use this still? or do I need to re-apply for the ESTA visa due to submitting the I130 application after? Please advise.

  14. Hi Guys,

I have filed my I-130 in November with a PD of 1st November 2019. Received the NOA, so now its just a waiting game... they gave me the IOE receipt number so I am not sure if that speed things up. However, I did notice on my USCIS account that they did not scan all my documents. Only the receipt of payment and the pictures of me and my wife were scanned. (Left out the divorced decree, marraige certificate, passport copy). Is this normal?  😕
