  1. I made the mistake of checking the box to apply for a social security number on my husband's i-485 instead of going to our local social security office to apply.  Any way, my husband's green card arrived Tuesday.  How long should we wait for his social security card to arrive?  Do they tend to come quickly after the green card?  thanks!

Question about the DS-3025 and the vaccine panel. My fiance has his medical exam today. The panel Dr. told him he can get the vaccines done here in the U.S. which he agreed to instead of there. He thought the Dr. was talking about the COVID vaccine, not the required vaccines for AOS like MMR. Since it is too late to fix it now being that his interview is tomorrow; when he comes to the U.S. does he have to do the whole medical exam again with a USCIS civil surgeon PLUS the vaccines for AOS? Or can we just go to a pharmacy, get vaccines done and print out the record and mail it with his DS-3025 form for AOS? His DS-3025 form says "K visa applicant elected not to have vaccines at this examination."

He must have seen the same doctor my husband went to.  He was told the same thing and we assumed he meant the covid vaccine and thought he didn't need any vaccines.  Now we're scrambling to get these done without paying a ton of money.  At least you know now and you have plenty of time to plan for it.

First of all, is the DS3025 marked complete or is it marked that he refused to take the vaccines? If it's complete, there's nothing else he needs to do.

If it's marked he refused, then yes, he needs to take the vaccines and get all of them transcribed into an I-693. But this can be done at anytime before the interview. Don't delay filing for AOS because of that.

Ok.  Thank you!  This helps a lot!

  4. While working on my husband's adjustment of status papers, I discovered that he was missing a few required vaccinations.  After a few weeks of phone calls, I was finally able to make him an appointment to get them.  The only problem is I can't get him in until 10/13 and his 90 days is up on 10/1.  Is is better to send in his application without the required vaccines or wait to send in the application until he has received the vaccinations?

You fill out the form according to the date you fill it out and sign. In order to exclude him, he must meet 3 requirements:

    - be unmarried

    - have reached majority at the place he lives

    - not be claimed as a dependent.

If he does meet one of them, you can't exclude him. Unless you live in Mississippi, you're fine to exclude him.

Isn't the age of majority 18 in most states?

  6. I'm reading instructions for the I-864.  It says to include all unmarried children under 21, but "You may exclude any unmarried children under 21 years of age, if these children have reached majority under the law of their place of domicile and you do not claim them as dependents on your Federal income tax returns."  My son is in college.  He uses my address and lives at home during the summer.  I did not claim him as a dependent on my taxes in 2020.  He supports himself and my parents have been kind enough to pay for his dorm at college.  He uses scholarships and loans to pay the tuition.  The other issue is that he will be 21 in December and I don't see anywhere on the form that asks for names and birth dates for the children.  I don't know whether to include him.  Even if he's legally viewed as a dependent (which I'm unsure of after reading the instructions), he won't be in 2.5 months.

log onto that site and look under track my passport

    or bring up the following

    https://www.ustraveldocs.com/in/step-6.html

when he comes tell him to bring another original birth certificate ,  record of his shots (for himself ) and school transcripts

    and get English translations

he'll need birth certificate to marry,  shot record for any dr he goes to and so he doesn't have to repeat them here,  and school transcripts when he is able to do resume after all AOS proceedures are done

    Congratulations

So I got as far as the payment page.  I entered his passport info, address, pickup location, etc. and it brought me to a payment page where it is asking for a receipt number.  He paid in cash at the consulate, it won't accept the number from his receipt, and won't let me skip this page.  Am I ok since I've entered all of the other information?

then i would think they will want to see it along with the English translatio

Oh.  Ok.  My fiancé is referring to things that I've already sent.  Someone told him that he needs to bring color copies of the pictures, boarding passes, passport stamps, etc, but I already sent color copies of all of those things.  He will bring a original birth certificate, translated.

no,  they will be in the packet that you sent to USCIS

embassy will tell you what to bring like original 2 criminal reports and original I 134 plus the IRS transcripts

they can and often do ask for the original birth certificate (do not worry that is expires in 90 days in Morocco)  they will want the same as copy you sent with application

they often ask for other documents but that is determined case by case

His birth certificate?  I didn't send one with the application.

  11. My fiancé is insisting that I re-scan all of the evidence I sent with the application because someone told him he needs it in color.   I already sent color scans with the application.  It's my understanding that they will have this already for his interview and that he should bring different pictures to his interview.  Is he correct?  Do I need to re-scan all of the call logs, passport stamps, photos, receipts, etc. again so that he has a color copy?

I believe diversity visas are more crucial than K-1, it is not even an immigrant visa.

The judge ruled that refusing to do the interviews because of travel bans was unlawful and because consulates are moving forward with interviews for other types of visas,  they are capable of processing the Diversity visas as well.  I don't know the strategy for the K1 lawsuit but I imagine those arguments still apply.
