I have read the info under the bmi link but are you sure dual citizenship for germans living abroad will benefit from it? Rather sounds like it's only getting easy for foreigners living in Germany 🤔?

Hi all,
I have been in the US on an IR1 visa since July last year and have still not received my green card in the mail. Whenever I try calling USCIS all I get is the automated messaging saying that all agents are busy. I have opened various tickets on the USCIS my status page but keep receiving the same answer, that my visa was granted last year. Does or did anyone experience the same issue? I don't know who to contact to report this. There is a page on the USCIS site where you can report a card missing but the options are not for IR1. Any ideas?
Thanks a lot!

Hi,
We entered LA on a IR1/IR2 visa on July 30th and didn't have to self quarantine. We came from Frankfurt, Germany.
The quarantine rules depend on the State.
Good luck and safe travels and congratulations for finally being able to come to the US🍾😊!!

Are we supposed to upload our expedite requests as part of the standard online document submission mechanism for the NVC ( my wife and 2 children are all DQ’d) or is there a separate email address we are supposed to send them to ?
Any advice appreciated.
Hi there
You need to send an email to:
nvcexpedite@state.gov
Indicate the case number in the subject line.
Good luck!!

We arrived at LAX yesterday afternoon. Airport was rather empty. It took us approximately 1 hour to get through customs, get our visas stamped and pick up our luggage. Staff was very very nice and welcoming. So if SFO doesn't work out for you, I'd highly recommend LA
Good luck!!

I’m seeing conflicting guidance about the need to bring children to visa interviews - some say yes, some say no, some say 14 and over only.
This would be for the U.K. if it makes a difference - any guidance appreciated.
Hi Mike,
Our son is 14. We applied for IR1/IR2 and he had to come to the interview.
Actually, we weren't even really 'interviewed'- only handed them the original documents, fotos and did the fingerprints. No questions were asked...
Country is Germany. I assume younger kids also have to come to do the fingerprints? That's only a guess though.

Yeah congratulations 🎉🎉

Try studioline... When I visited Germany my fiance and I took passport photos in Stuttgart for the K1 https://www.studioline.de/fotostudios/stuttgart-das-gerber/?utm_source=gmb&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=Stuttgart+Das-GERBER
Oh cool, thanks for the tip- that's just around the corner 👍🏽🤩🤗

Hiya, I did see this. My question was if anyone who went through the FRA embassy had brought passport photos that were up to the German standard. I have no idea on where to obtain that ☝️ size of professional photos here in Stuttgart except from the photo booth on base but those photos turn out horrible as light is a mess - the last ones we took looked like gangster photos- not necessarily what I would like to look alike on my GC 😉

Hallo an alle!

What was your reason for expeditious processing?
It was for financial hardship for my hubby and financial disadvantage for his company. They had given us a letter to confirm that 😉

It is really starting to feel like those of us working on spouse VISAs are in for a very long wait for an embassy interview. The entire COVID situation is starting to feel like things aren't going to get to semi-normal for months. Like 8-12 months....
Hi there, where did you get the information from? We have been DQ'd last week and the embassy accepted our request for expeditious processing. We received an email that the embassy will schedule us for an interview. Maybe it depends on the country but I am not sure. I do hope all of us will get interviews soon and don't have to wait 8-12 months 🙏

Quick updated on our situation.
My original interview was scheduled for March 16th and was canceled 2 days prior to the appointment due to the ongoing coronavirus situation. I reschedule the interview for the next available date, which was April 6th.
At the same time I contacted the consulate and requested an emergency appointment due to our specific situation, which was granted for March 19th. Unfortunately, that appointment was also canceled the day prior to the interview.
Early last week the April 6th appointment was also canceled and no further appointments are currently available online.
Last Thursday night I received an email from the consulate that they were granting an emergency interview for today, April 1st.
We were 1 of 4 interviews for today (all of us CR/IR-1s I believe). We received our visas in our passports on the spot (took about 2.5 hours of waiting due to final clearance checks). The interviewing officer mentioned that they were keeping track of our case and apologized that they had to cancel the first emergency appointment. So they are aware of people’s individual situations!
With that being said, if you are in a situation where you need to travel asap, you can try to reach out to the consulate in an email and explain your case. Frankfurt is operating at extremely reduced capacity (no lines out front, no one inside the consulate). If you can wait a few more weeks, I’d suggest to do so but if you’re in a real bind you can give it a try and reach out to them.
Hope this helps!hi there, I assume this is only possible for DCF's, correct? We were approved by NVC and contacted the embassy but the operator said that she could not put us through to the visa section as no-one was there.... had you had your medical prior to scheduling the emergency interview ?
thanks a lot!

There is absolutely no harm in trying. We applied for ours on March 5th and was approved on March 24th, after the suspension of routine visa processing on the 18th. The email is worded differently in that rather than the NVC immediately sending your file to the embassy/consulate, they state that that will immediately send your file as soon as routine visa processing resumes.
Oh, that is interesting!! May I ask if you had sent your expedite request to the expediteNVC@ email address? And also, which country are you applying from? thank you!

Hi Guys,
I submitted my application and uploaded documents on end of February. Will it help requesting for an expedite processing now ?
Please advise
Hiya,
I think, expediting is not really an option atm unfortunately (unless your country is not under a corona travel ban). The expedite- request email goes straight to the local embassy as far as I know and they're not open for interviews right now. At least that was the case for us...
I mean you can still try of course 😉👍

@Inita this sounds like you can potentially provide some insight
Hi there I think our case was a little different... we did have separate case numbers at NVC too, but my husband filed the i864 for me and for my son he filed an i485 as the kid will gain citizenship on entry as he is adopted. I think for step children it is different...

Hi all,
I am trying to check our status on the CEAC website. Every time I do I get the below message:
But the thing that confuses me is that we have uploaded all required documents on the NVC page, paid all bills and on the NVC site it also states that all is completed.
Is there something I need to do additionally?
Do I need to send all documents by email as well?
I am not sure what to do- anyone here that can shed some light please?
Thanks!
