The application is still in Received/first status. It reached them in the morning. And shows the amount is paid.
For renunciation last week, when it reached the CKGS office, same day it went to the process at embassy status.
not sure why its delayed.

Submitted with new pics. Thanks! Today I got my renunciation certificate/Indian passport back from ckgs and also received my NC. Luckily I got everything that I needed for OCI card, just now submitted/shipped to CKGS, it should reach them tomorrow. Keeping my fingers crossed now.

As a follow-up, I wanted to post my own response to this thread. I ended up taking new set of PP pics (did not use the left over ones from US PP). When I checked with CKGS NY personnel about this at walk-in, they said the same pics in US PP can be used for OCI, as long as the pics were taken within 6 months.

I dont have the renunciation certificate, so I can't apply. ALthough started filing up the forms and all online.

How long did it take to get the Renunciation certificate? I applied yesterday and today the status updated to In Transit to Embassy.

FYI Guys - I just got my passport today. They said I will get it by next week 10/07 but got it today. Now waiting for Passbook and NC to arrive.

I got the status updates yesterday evening that my passport has been approved and shipped and I should receive my passport around 10/07. It was getting processed in New Orleans.
- Applied: 7/31
- Trackable: 8/17
- Processing center: New Orleans
- Approved/Shipped: 10/01
- Should receive tentatively by: 10/07
Once I get it, will start looking into the OCI related steps.

Yeah man. There are lot of steps involved too, plus on two different websites for one thing. Pain in the butt. I will start looking into it once I see my passport is shipped.

Yeah it took longer to be trackable online. I did call the 800 number n they informed me about New Orleans + tracking number. I am in no rush as such but once I get the PP, I have to apply for my OCI card which takes again a month or two (+ updates in SSN office ) so I can visit India in December.

Congrats. I applied next day of yours i.e. on July 31st, but the application to be trackable, took much longer time than yours. Its also in NOrleans. Hope I hear the same news soon.

I called up SSN office too. I will have to wait till I get passport and original NC back. The agent told me to send NC original and the copy of NC only. No DL or any other ID needed. They will return the original within 3-4 days after verifying and updating SS info.

Thanks! I got my US passport back from CKGS yesterday. A New OCI is in progress now, I can track my application on https://ociservices.gov.in/statusEnqury as well. I wish even I get my new OCI in 20days
