I think the IO asked about any violations or tickets or something to that sense, and I offered the information about the tickets. ( Also to note, that I had not mentioned those tickets on my N400).

Certified disposition letters are issued by the municipal courts where you paid your ticket. It has a court stamp and certificate that the ticket(s) have been disposed off with the fine mentioned.  I understand you do not have any information on the ticket numbers or anything, so that may be difficult to find. But as suggested otherwise, if you can get a county search or something done and get the ticket number or the date, that may work. But in general I agree with Mike E that it is un-necessary hassle IOs put us through, especially when you do not have any serious record like drunk driving, accidents etc.

I see. I did not pay my fine to court. Instead, I paid through the traffic school for my defensive driving class. At the end of the class, I received a certificate of completion course. After whole afternoon of searching, I finally found it. Thanks for your advice.

I would counter that traffic ticket record follow up may not always be unnecessary 'chasing' - from personal experience. Try your best within whatever is reasonably possible, and then do not take undue stress as you mention.  I had minor traffic violation tickets which were properly paid and disposed of.  During the interview, the IO asked about any violations or arrests etc, I informed about the tickets and their disposition.  The IO mentioned as long they are minor violations paid off with fines less than 500 (i think)  its all fine, but still asked to see the disposition letters for those tickets. I did have the certified disposition letters from the court handy and everything was good. I do not know if it would have gone in any different  direction had I not been able to pull out the evidence on the moment. Did he really need to see those records - maybe not, was he just testing me - maybe, would his decision have been any different - most probably not.  Sometimes it also just varies from IO to IO.

Thank you for your comment. Did you wait to be asked by the IO or did you tell him upfront of your citation?

I agree it all depends on the IO. I just pray I will be assigned to a more considerate one.

I will make sure I will have documentation before my interview.

By the way, what is certified disposition letters and how do we acquire it? Do I need that in my case? I have been pulled over by a state trooper for over speeding. Gave me a ticket and suggested that I take a class at a Traffic School in AZ.

How many years ago was this?

It all happened in August of 2022. Went to Traffic School the same month as suggested by the police officer who pulled me over.

I didn’t know I had to put YES for the question number 23 on the N400 form since both traffic school instructor and police officer said it will be removed in my record so I put NO as answer.

Dont worry, your ticket is so new you can find the info easily.

Try https://azmvdnow.gov/home first and see if they have any notation on the ticket.

Next, go to your bank statements or credit card statements and pull out your info.

If you remember which school you went to, go to the place and ask them for a receipt or a record. if its online, then you will have some info on the emails....

Edit: You say you paid, probably with a check, in that case check your bank statements.

Thank you for your response. First, have to find which traffic school I went to for my class. I will also look at the link you sent me. As with the payment, it was money order.

sorry I misread your post and thought you had documentation.

When was this ticket from? Most states let you pull the MVR record (motor vehicle record) and if the ticket is recent you shoudl see it in there. If the ticket is from out of state, contact that state DMV to get the details. if its the state you are living in, then the mvr should have it.

I live in AZ and they only go past 10 years My ticket was from CA and it was from almost 19 yrs ago..so I had no documentation, not even a credit card statement or bank statement or anything at all. Hopefully you can dig anything from DMV or your personal bank statements. Not the end of the world if you dont have it.

I live in AZ. I submitted my traffic ticket together with my form of payment to the traffic school. I had the ticket in August 2022 and took defensive driving class the same month. Both the traffic school instructor and the police officer that gave me a ticket said ticket will be removed in my records.

I am searching for which traffic school I went in for my class so I could email them. I don’t even know where to start. I am so stressed out.

Most are not convinced that an ordinary speeding ticket should be on the N-400 and the jury is still out if it belongs in there.

I had a ticket from 2003 and had no documentation and I put in that info. You have the documentation and you did not. I have read a ton and most times the IO officer asks and you can just say I had a ticket and is taken care off and you hand him over the documentation if he asks.

Most say speeding tickets over 500$ or reckless driving might be questioned. IT IS BEST TO BE UPFRONT WITH THE OFFICER AND TELL HIM ABOUT THE TICEKT, proves moral character.

In that case my only resolution is to tell the officer during the interview of my speeding ticket since I have no documentation to show as proof. Thanks for your reply.

  7. Hi everyone,

I have a question and I appreciate anyone who could give me enlightenment and resolution to my problem.

I have just applied for my N400. Without further consideration, I answered NO under question 23.

Back story: I was cited for a civil traffic due to speeding. The officer suggested that I go to a traffic school to remove the ticket in my records. So I did. I submitted the ticket and payment to the traffic school and so I have not one single proof with me.

I am very concerned because I just had my biometrics last week. I am very anxious that it will be the reason for my application to get denied. Please enlighten me.

So I'm guessing we have to take a picture of our passport picture and picture of the back with our name? Has anyone tried this?

You need to scan and upload a 2x2 Photo of you.

I also looked into the last part of the application (Additional evidence), and it seemed we need to show proof of these:

    Religious Record
    School Record
    Census Record

Is this really required? Can anyone share their experience on how they did the Additional evidence part of the application?

    Not necessary

You have no way of knowing if anyone has aged out without thst.

They’re just assuming as mentioned on previous comment due that the married daughter’s (second child) sons aged 23 years old were removed and was not included in the immigrant visa appointment because they were aged out.

The married son’s (first child) children (25, 29 and 30) are already older than the ones removed.

  10. 7 minutes ago, SusieQQQ said:

Are you sure they have aged out? You have checked the CSPA calculation? If they have aged out, then names or not, attend interview, pay fees, whatever, they cannot get visas. CSPA age of 21 or over = no visa. No discretion.
Question above (ok implied not explicit) about approval date was ignored.

My friend’s grandfather has filed a petition for his children. PD was dated May 1996.

My aunt and her family got to submit the documents first and right after they got DQ the names of her sons disappeared on the CEAC account (aged 23 years old).

Now my her brother and his children (aged 26, 29, and 30) received a mail from NVC that they will get an immigrant visa appointment in two weeks.

They already assumed that the brother’s children are aged out because the sister’s children who are younger than the brother’s children were already removed from the list.

It’s all moot without approval date

and no ds forms submitted = no interview. Not clear if that’s what you meant by doc submission

as long as principal is there of course they can interview without some of them, no one is forced to interview /immigrate

Yes, that’s what I meant by document submission.

Everyone included in the petition has already completed their forms and uploaded their civil documents except for one derivative. Thats basically the reason why the documents cannot be submitted since it’s greyed out.

The three children are already aged out but names still appear on CEAC thats why I was wondering if they can still attend the immigrant visa interview once they receive the schedule.

Thank you for clearing that out that the principal applicant and those who are done with their DS260 can proceed to their interview.

Follow to join usually means something else. And to be honest I forget how long she has to get her visa, for some reason I think a year, but need to check, so how long is it going to take to get this sorted.

Presumably they have taken into account the processing time deduction when calculating the dependents ages, those who you said aged out. CSPA is the term used here.

The PSA says it will take three months before she could request for her PSA Birth Certificate. Only then can she apply for a PH Passport.

Their PD is May 1996 and she’s now 29 years old. She’s aware that she’s already aged out. However, since she hasn’t submitted her DS260, her name still appears on CEAC account.

Would that mean, others need to wait for her before they can proceed to their interview? Is it possible for the others to go to their interview without her?

  13. 1 minute ago, Boiler said:

If they have aged out then they have aged out and there is nothing to interview for. Quite common with these long processing times.

Is there a reason they do not want to interview at the same time, usually people do.

    Thank you for your response.

As mentioned above, one of the derivatives has not yet acquired her PH passport. She had just finished her court hearings concerning her name changed and waiting for PSA to issue her Birth Certificate.

In the case that her name still appears on the immigrant visa appointment, could she still appear even without completing her DS260? If its not possible, will it be okay to put her “follow to join” ?

  14. 🔹F31 visa preference

🔹1 principal applicant and 4 beneficiaries

    🔹NVC Phase

🔹Forms are paid but documents have not yet submitted. One beneficiary has not completed the DS260.

    Greetings!

I am asking for a friend. I would appreciate if someone out here can answer the queries regarding her concern.

They have been petitioned under F31 (married sons and daughters) and was approved after 23 years. They already paid the IV and AOS fees but did not finish the DS260 for one derivative. They have requested expedite at NVC prior to sending fees and forms. Now, the NVC has accepted their expedite request just today and is now waiting for their immigrant visa interview appointment.

    Question:

Is it possible that they will be scheduled for an immigrant appointment despite not submitting documents to CEAC?

Three of the derivatives are already aged out but since they haven’t submitted their documents yet, their names have not yet removed on CEAC. Would that mean they will be joining the immigrant visa interview?

One of the derivatives has not submitted the DS260 form due that she has not requested for her PH passport yet since she just had her BC corrected and waiting for the PSA to issue her a BC. If in case they received the immigrant visa interview appointment, can she still join the interview?

Will the US EMBASSY in Manila allow the family to have the interview if some of the members will not be physically present?

If they put her under Follow to Join, would that benefit the rest of the members to proceed to their interview without the other one?

Many thanks and awaiting for expert advice.

Travel Tax, with the exception of PAL it usually isn't collected with the airfare.   With EVA I am not so sure they collect it.  You would have to read though the list of fees/taxes paid and look for one that is P1620.

As for terminal fee I don't believe it is included for Mactan/Cebu.  I think the terminal fee is only included when flying out of NAIA.

  16. Hello!

I am flying to JFK departing Cebu via Eva Airlines next week. I still have to inquire if the travel tax and terminal fee are included in our tickets.

However, I booked my aunt’s family to Hawaii departing from Cebu via PAL. I messaged PAL and confirmed that the travel tax and terminal fee are already included in the booking.

Thank you. May i ask what was the mistake in your ds260? My mistake is i didnt put my middle name. Just my first name and surname. I didnt saw the insturctions that i should put my middle name that shows in my passport. Im a little bit worried.

It wasn't really a mistake. I just had to amend my petitioner’s info such as address, contact number and employer.

During your interview, just inform the officer about that matter, and they will be the one to determine if there is a need to edit your DS260

Hello. May i ask, how did you correct your mistake in your ds-260? Thank you.

During my interview, the consular officer initiated to have it edited on her end without me even asking it.
