  1. I don't know why I even bother to call. Last time I called they said, wait two weeks before calling back again, which was at 180 days or so. So I called back today, and they told me what they told me two weeks ago, and what they told my congressman two weeks before that. It was with a decision maker RIGHTNOW. (And if that was the case wouldn't I get A TOUCH EVEN?) Yeah, whatever. They all just lie through their teeth. NOBODY would sit on an application for a month and not get sacked. NOBODY. But maybe nobody cares anyway. :crying::crying::crying:

I'm just fed up and angry and I can't be MEAN to them. And I'm GOOD at being mean without being nasty. And its a shame, and a waste of my skills.

  2. I think our original thread was much more interesting - what's up with everyone? It's like everyone fell into the great abyss........

    suz

I think so many got approved that the Old Crowd is less active in the pending thread. But it's okay. A lot them still check in. And some of us are so frustrated from waiting, for RFE returns or simply approvals that its too frustrating to stick around.

I haven't forgotten you guys!! I check all the time to see if you guys are finally approved. I really cannot understand what the big freaking deal is at VSC and why you guys are continually lied to! I pray that you guys will be approved NOW!

We're glad for the company of the whole monobrow squad!

  4. IT WILL COME!!!! Those touches might mean more then just an address change/call. You never know with these people!!! Have you called recently?

    Mirla have you called? Mel?

Oh, and no my SO is not in the states yet. He is arriving on Christmas Day :) What a gift :) I am so excited!

No, I haven't called. I think that calling doesn't make any difference....you know...I was calling before almost everyday to find out if they got our RFE....

I'm sure you must be so happy about your SO coming!!! I t will be a wonderful xmas :D

I agree. It doesn't help. Im more worried about some grumpy person going hahaha think calling will help? HA! *shoves it at the bottom out of spite*

    .. you know?

    191 days. FUN

  5. You are such a strong person.........and patient ........I hope for all of us........

I can be a little more patient this week. Immigration let Pete enter, and I have him here with me, even if I do haev to go to work most days. But, I still want my NOA2 before Christmas! I don't want to go to Christmas and have my whole family asking after it. And going haha I told you to get a lawyer. (like they'd help. ) I want that for you and Virgil too. There's probably even more people that just don't post that are in the same spot.

    BOO VSC, BOO.

Those touches are a good sign tho!

  6. I hope VSC is not snowed in.......they have not changed there processing times yet........and we want out noa2's this week.........HELLO.....VSC....wake up.....time to work....... (L)(F):help:

Ok.....I am replying to my self.........Virgil Ric and I are at 197 days......on December 20th it will be 200 days with nothing done......What the he11......Hello......this is really bad VSC

I got to work from under 4 inches of heavy snow covered in a quarter inch of ice. They can too!!

  7. I own my car so not sure how that would work... I'm sure I'll find things :) Although I might be panicking here nearer the time!!!

    Jera-

We packed piles of proof that he was going home and then the officer swiped Pete's passport and took his left finger print and waved him on. Not even a 'how long are you staying for' question.

So, bring everything, but hopefully you'll get a grumpy lazy officer too!

You'll be fine in February I'm sure!

  8. We had a one of those really cheesy pictures taken together at Niagara Falls where theysort of paste your picture in together? But, I figured it proved we were there together, they wouldn't produce anything like that anywhere else. And I had pictures of us together in Central Park when they had the bright orange Gates out. I figured that would be a time reference as well 'in the last two years.'

And all the usual stuff, intineraries, as many boarding passes as I could find (I lose them ALL THE TIME though)

It felt weird to do this, but when I printed out the emails that Pete had sent me, they all had comics at the bottom that I couldn't get out, because he sends me daily and weekly comic strips every weekday. :D So, some lazy adjudicator is going to have funnies to read with our emails.

  9. Bill,

I also wanted to add, and please correct me if I am wrong here, because you have been active here a lot longer than I have, but by my count there are only 4 K1 petitions still outstanding for April, and 13 K1 petitions outstanding for May.

Knowing that OsLoraTamm is still active here, I assume that the 13 petitions are still active and awaiting adjudication, at least hers is. But, my belief is that the 4 outstanding for April are probably abandoned, or people forgot to update if they are still active here. I cant recall any April filers speaking out in this thread in the recent past (because if I waited that long I would be POSTAL). But I havent been here for as long as you. What is your feeling on this?

And to any April filers: Please dont take offense that I dont know or remember you. If you are still here and the data is correct, just let me know!

I think Mel and Syl are from april and have been waiting for months on an rfe answer. I don't know of many from may except poor MCKT:), most probably have gotten at least an rfe by now.

I haven't even gotten a touch yet which is what makes all the july and now august approvals seem weird to me, oh well it's another day at vsc ...

Virgil do the ref thing and change the address of your SO......I got a touch today but the interesting thing was that I could here this older lady rifling through papers to look for something then changed the address for Oscar but then said Oh you are past 6 months{???????}Duh......so I do not know if the call produced the touch or if they decided to look at our case....Not sure Mirla seems to think it is the latter.....I pray they found us...she also said 1/3 of the case workers are out on leave at one time this time of year......unfortunately for the first week of June folks we must of been assigned to a person with lots of time to burn off for vacation before the end of the year.........Lora

    ... so maybe january. *sigh*

  10. Or vonage for bizarrely cheap long distance ?

tell me more about this vonage....

Vonage is a VOIP phone service (that is it runs over the fiber optic broadband network). It's 29.95 I think a month for unlimited calling all over the US. It's awesome. I get my voicemail in my email, so when I'm at work and I get messages I can still get them as wav files. I love it. And, for me its totally free to call the UK. And I can ask it to tell me how long and how many times I've called X phone numbers and it produces a report for you. (Which is great for the interview!) I looked it up and albania is 16 cents a minute. But it's really nice.

  11. O.K........I just talk to a NICE lady at VSC.....she said the petition has been with a case wroker since November 1.......and was then transfered on November 17 to someone else......and it has been with them ever since.....she said she was unsure why it still has not been worker on......I told her it appeared that they were working cases in July and she would send a note to the floor to ask but was not able to report her response from them but she said it may stimulate something......she said about 1/3 of the case workers are OUT OF THE OFFICE on leave this time of year but she does see I am outside of the service target goal........but??????....................nothing......well Virgil Ric and I are probably together with a on leave ajudicator...........AUGH......NOW WHAT.......I AM GOING A LITTLE CRAZY.........OOOPs........I do not want to be back in the hospital......I have not had aproblem since I got out of there......so I am trying to only be a little upset........thanks guys....Lora

I would think that if adjudicators are out on leave they would transfer their cases to someone who was actually there working. It does not make any sense that they would keep some people in limbo while letting others get by

At least you know it is with an adjudicator Lora. Hopefully it means that your approval is coming soon.

We're gonna get it! (before Christmas!!.. i can dream. i just really don't want to go to yet another family gathering having to say I don't know. Thanksgiving was bad enough) I'm just trying to keep myself distracted. I've been getting into the Christmas spirit and santa-ing and baking and keeping busy. It'll be here one day!

I hear you.......I am trying too but I can not travel to Peru and he can not come here so here I sit......I hope you are right about before Christmas......I have not seen Oscar since June and it is really killing me.........Merry Christmas and have a great visit with Pete......... :)

I will, as long as they let him in! But I'm not terribly worried they won't. He's come and gone like 9 or 10 times in the last three years so, it looks good that he always goes home. Do you guys have webcams and skype and the like to keep in touch? Or vonage for bizarrely cheap long distance ?

  13. I didn't add a lot of super smushy emails. I put in newsy emails mostly, emails that said we were excited about an upcoming visit, emails I'd sent when I was stuck at work and he was at home during a visit... They spoke to being comfortably together, even if they weren't saccharine sweet. I think you'll be okay. They can't expect everybody to be proclaiming their undying love in roses and sweet promises all the time!!

  14. Hello everyone.

This is the first time I am reaching out to everone for their opinon, so I appreciate all of your comments.

I am currently waiting for my NOA 2. I did the RFE trick on 12/10 and received a touch on 12/11. I called back today to inquire about the touch and was told that my K1 is now being reviewed by an officer. The USCIS representative (who was very friendly) said that it will take up to 30 days before hearing an answer.

Does anyone know how long it typically takes for this review? I am hoping sooner than 30 days!!!

    Thanks again!

I was told that two weeks ago. Still no touches.

So... i think its just lucky draw.

Ouch. What a time game. The sad thing is that there is not a whole lot that anyone can do unless it exceeds their "estimated processing times"! What I (and many others) wouldn't pay to expedite the K1! Just imagine the gold mine USCIS would have if the offered expedited K1's!!!

I get the impression they dont' much care if it exceeds them or not. I've exceed their six month estimate and when I called I was simply told to try again in two weeks, and check the website, don't call again, kthxbai.

I'm sure someone has mentioned it before, but did you try calling your congress representative? Or, are they saying 6 additional months from asking for the police report? Why did they ask for the police report? Was it a result of IMBRA? Sorry for the questions, I am just trying to learn more about what to expect... Thanks.

THe police report is part of packet three and takes 40 days to get back, so we filed for it early.

I asked my congressman to look into it and they sent me an email that said an officer had it, sit tight, call back in January if you still don't have it.

I think this is jsut because of the huge july influx- I think a lot of papers got shuffled and moved around and some June files are just lagging.

  17. I just got off the phone with the USCIS because i needed to make an address change for my fiancee. i did the RFE trick and it transferred me to an officer at Vermont!!! i made my change (she also told me to check with the NVC to make sure the change sticks) and chit chatted with the lady (very nice) and she confirmed that her processing report says that they are currently working Late june/early july petitions now. She also was way off base about how long the process takes once it hits NVC. She said 30 days and no problem plenty of time for checking with them after the approval. See below for their response.

OsLoraTamm, it is time for you to get jiggy with the cust service folks. They are blowing mega smoke to you now!

I also just got off the phone with the NVC 9the USCIS told me I should call them after my approval to make sure the change gets recorded because they are the ones setting up all that kind of stuff for the consulate) I wanted to find out how much time I would have once my approval came thru to talk to them about the change of address. She told me I needed to be ON THE STICK. She said that they are turning out all K1's in a matter of days and I needed to get with them as soon as I knew about the approval or it would be too late. This pretty much confirms what we already know about their processing times.

    ..... on the stick?

  18. Another touch today.....:blink: Guys!!! I need your positive vibes!!!! It's been forever!!!

VSC, don't get too touchy on me....just gimme my approval!!! Please!!!!!! :girlwerewolf2xn:

    Mirla,

I'm doing this right now for you:

    Hopefully it'll help!!!!! :)

Well, I just got off with an extremely rude customer service person. I asked them why it has been a week and I still haven't gotten my RFE letter. They said I had to wait 15 days before they can do anything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can someone PLEASE tell me how long after their RFE email did they recieve the letter??????

    Steph-

Fifteen days from TODAY of fifteen days from the date they issued it? If its from teh day it was issued, it probably just to make sure that you actually did recieve it. Mail at Christmas time, especially, can be a little slower than usual. But if its 15 days from today than I'm more than happy to join in your outrage and go :girlwerewolf2xn:

This whole process sucks. I'm sorry you're stuck in it for even extra time. Mirla too.

Nah, it is 15 business days from the date they issued it which was December 5th. I just don't understand why they just can't $$##$ mail something without causing additional stress and unnecessary wait time. 15 days for mail! That is just ridiculous. It should take 3-4 days tops. I hate all of them. I really really hate them. :crying::crying::crying:

Cuz they're lazy sods and stamps cost a WHOLE FORTY ONE CENTS. It shouldn't take that long tho.

I think we all sort of hate them. (can we all the way hate them when they ... eventually say yes? I dunno. maybe!!)

  20. Wow getting lost on the way to the airport, bet that was nervewracking! And if u turned the wrong way in Catonsville u could head towards west baltimore - uh oh.

I agree about making your own choices, i made up a saying years ago - our country is turning not into Big Brother, but Big Mother and she knows best.

Well when ur negative ur supposed to go :crying::crying::crying: then it's ok.

I can't blame them, but people who filed two months after me who say 'oooh my date is two days from that last approval is it my turn yet' are starting to get to me

Thanks I'll try to hang in there.

I just sort of giggle when I see people so far ahead wanting theirs. A lot of them are getting them, but .. some of them will have to wait it out. THe unlucky ones, tho I wouldn't wish it on ANYBODY. That'd be horrible, but I think its a statistical fact. Me, bitter? Nooo...

Pete and I set up a betting pool. We laid out the next two weeks, drew dates and whoever draws the approval date gets sole control of the radio when he comes for Christmas. (we have no musical tastes in common, so its a constant mini-battle) It's made things interesting. I had today, but he had yesterday and tomorrow, and friday and all weekend. So, we'll see. I'm hoping for Thursday, I really dont' like electronic. :P

  21. ric, if your fiance has not had a pattern of frequent, and particularly lengthy visits, combined with the proof of ties to the UK, he should be just fine at the POE. Good luck!

I don't know about lengthy, he usually visits for 10 or 15 days at a time, but three or four visits per year for the last three years...

I'm sure it'll be fine, even if they do question him a bit.

  22. do you guys think that's enough? If not, what else would you suggest bringing?

I suppose this is stating the obvious, but make your fiance has a return ticket, or a printout of the itinerary showing the return date.

Also, in the case of the bank statements, not having tons of money is good, but I think he should at least show that he has enough to support himself for the holiday...

I visited shortly after my NOA1 and got through no problem. Good luck!

Well yeah, btu there's a difference between having 1200 quid and 5000 quid. :D

But thanks for the tips. I'm pretty sure he'd remember to bring the return itinerary, but it never hurts to remind. (or point him to this thread :D)

  23. Hi All,

After submitting to the Vermont Center in June 15th, we just got our NOA2 on Dec 4th. Almost 6 months. Now we're expecting the NVC to process quickly and then send the info to the US Embassy in Japan. Crazy, my fiance and I can't believe the process is actually moving.

    We have two questions:

    1) What is the average wait time from now (receiving the NOA2) to getting an interview appointment? Specifically, we're interested in what people have experience in Tokyo.

    2) We've spotted errors in our applications, which we don't know for sure if they were corrected. Should we contact the NVC for this inquiry, or just bring our evidence and explanations to the interview at the US Embassy?

The errors were missing "Other Name" which is her birth certificate name from another country than where she currently lives. Also, there is a wrong "City of Birth" as Hong Kong is a country, city, and we think province as well.

    Thanks!

    :time:

Congratulations. :) Best of luck on the rest of your journey.
