  1. I Just recieved this from the Senators office......the problem is I have recieved the same notice from them since November 1 when they told me the same thing....Now it is 30 days later and I get the same response........OMG....Help Us

This is the response I just received:

A88 376 875---the case is with an adjudicating officer for processing as of 11/28/07 and the petitioner should be hearing from this office in approximately 30 more days.

    Debby Burroughs

    Caseworker

    Office of Senator Jim Webb

Congrats Larisa...........I wish the best to you......

I got the same response from my senator as well. Except they said don't call back until the New Year. :crying::ranting:

  2. BUT........WE CAN DO THIS. In the GRAND scheme of things...5 years from now..will this wait matter? Will it make an impact on our lives? Its hard for now..but stay focused on the future...the GOAL....keep THAT in our sights....

What are some future goals you have with your SO's??? Lets share some FUTURE things...

We can make it, guys. :) And, it won't matter in five years. We'll just be extremely grateful for what we have. I feel like a lot of people take their relationships for granted, but we had to work and strive for ours, and maybe we'll be less hesitant to forget what is good and wonderful when things get hard.

    FUTURE!

I'd like to have enough money to go back to school part time, when I can. I love to cook, and when I'm at my most crazy and stressed I love to bake. There's something calming about the process. There's been a surplus of cookies and bread in my house the last two weeks! I hope to have my own bakery someday and sell bread and fairy cakes. (Pete thinks this is great because I make him junk food and milk-free ice cream.)

Pete and I just want to have time together, without having to worry about the end of the week when we have to say goodbye. Have kids in a few years. Haul them back to ballet and karate and soccer practice.

He's totally worth this stress, and the wait, without a doubt.

  3. Hi Guys......I am laying in bed in the cardiac ward in the hospital......I am all implanted with the pacer and the cardioverter.....I talked with Oscar while I was in the recovery room.....I really love him.....He was crying on the phone...anyway I went to the stress lab and they wanted me to make my heart rate go up so they were goin to give me a med I said no I know how.....VSC....NO ...NOA2......it worked and so did the pacer....hahaha...a little humour in my pain.......thanks for all of your best wishes......I get to go home around 5 pm.....Now I am ready for my approval....PLEASE.....Love you guys Lora

Lora I hope you feel better soon! And get your approval!

  4. I have gotten to thepoint here that I can hardly look at tyhe USCIS website because nothing changes for us......I know this will end....but the wait is horrible

I try not to look until later in the day, because I feel like checking it in the morning might just be simply hoping for too much. But I'm very tired of seeing 6/14/07. I try not to hope too much, but no matter what every time I see that date unchanged it's a bit of a let down. Oh well.

  5. ive become so used to posting in this thread, that i feel like i have no friends anywhere else on VJ....

    :(

my case was sent to naples instead of albania...and its a national holiday today in albania, so i cant get anything done

just thought i would share that and say congrats to all those who were recently approved, and i hope that when everyone else gets their NOA2, they wont be syked out like i was, and have to deal with more BOLOGNA at the embassy stage :o:wacko:

I just spoke with my congressman's office. They called VSC and spoke to their contact there. Apparently, this is someone they always call and is a high up there (not one of the useless customer service idiots). She said my case is currently with an adjucator. If I don't hear anything in 30 days they can call back.

Good news is my petition is with an adjucator. Bad news...why wouldn't I hear anything by 30 days?? I feel a little relieved though that it isn't in a dusty crate in the corner of a trailor parked out back in an abandoned parking lot.

They told me the same thing. Here's hoping!

  6. Any takers on proofing the following letter to my representative? I have a small mean streak and I'm afraid that certain sections may come of a little less respectful than I'd like.

    Ms. Eagan-

Thank you for your swift response to my query. I'm replying once again in hopes that Mr. Hinchey will hear the voices of the many applicants waiting to bring their loved ones to the US that are fighting with the issues currently plaguing the USCIS. I thank you for your work on my behalf.

When I called on Monday they had said that the crate containing my petition was in the hands of an adjudicator as well- not yesterday as they told you. Their standard stock answers for all and sundry are not acceptable. This is a service that we as American citizens pay for. Like all monetary transactions the customer pays for goods and/or services rendered. We petitioners pay this fee to USCIS in return for their time, effort, the cost of background checks, and labor costs, within a timeframe of six months. I am not the only person who is within days of this six month deadline.

    ETC.

    Thanks.

:crying: :crying: :crying: Simply beautiful...you captured everything. One suggestion..not sure what you think of it..but in mentioning that you belong to a group...I'd mention the SIZE of this group as over 30,000 strong. (although not all are k applicaants...our membership base is not small...and CAN influence much if all pulled together)...just a thought??? THis is an amazing letter..may I plagerize it?? For my officials to??

I revised based on your suggestion:

It has become apparent to many that the Vermont Service Center has been grossly mismanaged. I belong to a forum of petitioners that meet online to help each other throughout the immigration process. These petitioners represent those filing for all forms of family visa, and is currently about 30,000 members strong. We understand that we are only a very small sampling of a much larger set of petitions, however we are fairly representative of filers across the United States and beneficiaries around the globe.

And you and anyone on VJ are welcome to adjust this to fit their situation and representatives.

It has become apparent to many that the Vermont Service Center has been grossly mismanaged. I belong to a forum of K1 petitioners that meet online to help each other throughout the immigration process.. We understand that we are only a very small sampling of a much larger set of petitions, however we are fairly representative of filers across the United States and beneficiaries around the globe. Fellow filers struggle with lost RFE's, RFEs asking for documentation originally mailed with the petition, customer service representatives refusing to help, repeated requests to wait 30, 60, 90 days before asking for additional help. One filer was recently told her file was found amongst a pile of misplaced applications. About a third of our July filers have already recieved their approvals, while filers from April, May, and early June wait with growing apprehension that they have simply been forgotten. These delays represent plans and weddings postponed, loved ones seperated for months at a time because entry during the K1 process is so strongly discouraged.

I understand that there is very little, if anything that can be done in my case at present however, I hope that Representative Hinchey will hear the larger message that I hope I have conveyed in this letter, and will join those seeking to reform and better the immigration process. USCIS may have hundreds of thousands of petitions, but to the petitioners these are our hopes and dreams for our futures.

Once again thank you for your assistance, and your time.

    Respectfully,

    ETC.

    Thanks.

  8. This is pretty common. 'First come, first serve' seems to be a term they like to toss around, but it really doesn't mean anything.

Im sure it is...but we still would like to have a thread to gather to vent, find support...if you are looking to offer support you are more than welcome...I see you are completed pretty much...Congratulations...but I really intended this to be for those June filers still waiting that want and need support.

Here I am!!!! I looked at my NOA1 again last night. I needed to bring it into work today so I can fax it to my senator. My recieved date is actually 6/18, not 6/20 (not that it really matters anymore). I am going to update my timeline. I bet our cases are together!!

I asked my congressman to look into my case, and got a positive but unhopeful reply. It is currently with an adjudicator. It may take a week or a month to be processed. VSC states it is within current working goals. Don't write back until the New Year.

I really don't want to go to Christmas and have to tell my nosy family I STILL don't know. *sigh*

HI, but 6 months would end on the 9th of December for you, why should you wait until the New Year? Thanks

I got the impression that the person that called parroted to me what VSC Customer Service told her. I knew that it was with an adjudicator, but the person I spoke to at VSC Customer Service several days ago said the same thing. It didn't go to someone yesterday, if they had it on Monday. I might try and email the ombudsman if I don't see anything by the 10th.

  10. STATISTICS I PULLED:

OF JUNE FILERS 64% OF THOSE FILED HAVE BEEN APPROVED

OF JULY FILERS 37% HAVE BEEN APPROVED WHICH IM HAPPY FOR.....

THAT MEANS THAT 36% ARE STILL WAITING ON WORD OF THEIR PETITIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!

HOWEVER....Does anyone else find it odd that 36% of June filers are still waiting for word on their petitions while VSC is currently starting to work the last half of July?? Am I off base? To wonder why July filers were being approved BEFORE my JUNE file ever was assigned???? Does this information back up the USCIS's commitment of processing first come first served? Am I alone in feeling this is very very unfair..and that the mismanagement of this system has caused tons of heartaches?

Im contacting my senators office today to get answers......

Well, as a fellow June filer, I agree :P

I was thinking about writing my congressmen today or tomorrow. I just have a feeling we've been lost on some vacationer's desk or something. Who knows.

  11. Im almost sorry I called..... :crying: :crying: :crying:

I got Officer Nancy...who seemed nice but seemed to have a different story. When I called the other day, she said the adjudicator had gotten my case...would be ordering name checks which take a few days and I'll hear shortly after that. THen I get these touches.

NOW today she said he's had it since NOVEMBER 21. That the touch today was simply an update to some data in the system, and that I should call back in 30 days. Many there are on vacation and that some work slower than others (BY AN ENTIRE MONTH??? WHERES MANAGEMENT???) . That it could still be 30 more days.....Ok Im officially broken. No more positive, no more anything. I dont get it....how can it go from a few days, anytime to up to 30 more days????? And now she says the NAME CHECKS are the LAST THING before they issue an approval.....Thats not how it sounded the other day...Im sooo confused.

That doesn't make sense? Wouldn't the thing that takes a few days, be the FIRST thing you did? I know I'd pull everyone in the boxes and then work my way thru them. Of course reason is usually not the first thing they employ. (considers snarky remark, thinks i maybe shouldn't.)

Also, one of my neighbors works for USCIS (tho in the business of tossing out the people that dont' belong, not welcoming them in) .. my mother asked her to peek at my file. There wasnt' anythign she could DO, but she said that our name checks came back clear, and the landing cards had a few typos in them, but otherwise things were fine... and that was in SEPTEMBER. .. I'm not sure WHAT to maek of that, takign into account what Officer Nancy told you?

... this whole process is baffling. .. maybe they're baffled in VT too?

  12. Thanks Byron and Sunnylight! I so hope its an approval on its way sometime soon. If it happens soon, I just might start praising God also! Might make a believer out of me... ;)

    Thanks Julez!

I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much, but my NOA1 is exactly one week after yours! I hope we all have our NOA2s before Christmas!

Steph - I feel really bad you want to stay away, but I know it must be so tought to see all the approvals and touches for people who filed after you. I'm still cheering for you to get your NOA2 this week!

Ugh, who am I kidding. I am addicted to all of you and this site. I am just so blue. All your kind words do help though. You are all the best!!!!

Yay!!! We're keeping Steph!!! :dancing: :joy:

You know, if you don't hear something soon, you can get your congressperson involved. Its according to your priority date on the NOA1, not the date it was processed (which for you I believe the NOA1 is dated 6/20 but surely if you mailed it 6/4 they received it much sooner). Drfinitely something to think about if you don't get that approval by the end of next week!

I mailed it 6/4, but got an RFE cause my fiance wrote the check incorrectly, so the NOA1 was dated June 20. I called my senator and I am waiting on a call back.

    Thanks!

Wowwwww!!!! Congrats on the touch Jason!!!!!!! Your approval and faith's are on its way!!!!!!!!!! What a great feeling!!!! Two more approvals coming for the month!!!!!! I hope they keep moving like this on december too!!!!! :D

No offense but that question about how long it takes to get the NOA2 made me laugh......all of you must know why!!!! Especially Mel & Syl....!

Yeah, I thought that was hysterical. Very timely.

Can you really start to bug your congressional advocate before the 180 days? I know I could get it tomorrow, and I'd probably wait anyway, but I'd like to be prepared to make a ruckus beforehand :D

  13. Receipt Number: EACXXXXXXXXXX

Application Type: I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)

    Current Status: Approval notice sent.

On November 28, 2007, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service.

No touches, no phone calls, no expedite nothing. Just opened my e-mail today and there it was!

My prayers go out to all of you who filed before me and are still waiting. Hopefully you get yours soon!

    Congratulations!

Bset of luck on the rest of your journey! :D

  14. I agree...Its just frustrating to see people who work like they have no chance of losing their job and dont work hard at all...Likde they are God's gift to the company they work for

Yeap...I remember my father telling me...that in "his day" you didn't DARE not work hard. Jobs were to hard to come by. Now they are as disposable as diapers.

I'm sure that whomever decided to 'lose' these petitions will get a stern talking to, regardless. It's a lot of trouble for their bosses. I see it all the time, when the ####### hits the fan, it always falls on the little people. I'm sure that the supervisors at VSC don't like congressional advocates and higher ups giving them a hard time.

That being said, I think its grossly mismanaged anyway, but its maybe a small consolation for our angry sides to know that whoever lost Lora's petition (and more!) probably got a good kick in the pants, figurately speaking.

  15. Congratulations. I am happy for you; at least you're not one of those using this board to vent their innate frustrations in life generally. You waited on the Lord and He answered you. Goodluck.

And so those of us who do vent...what is wrong with that??????

If I have said it once, I have said it a thousand times: There is nothing wrong with venting. That is what these boards are for. People need to release their frustrations about this process and if it means one more post about how this is all f'ed up then so be it. Not everyone deals with this process in the same way and not everyone believes that God is in control. Everyone deals with this in different ways and no way is better than another. What is wrong with people sharing their feelings here? If it helps someone deal with all this then so be it.

Well maybe when people our in our position of waiting now 176 days and not touch or answers and missing there loved ones they will understand....That is why I come here....not just for informational shareing and sharing in congrats but to get help with this roller coaster called Visa Journey......from hell.....sorry....I am trying

It's okay, Lora. I think our petitions are on the same desk! Same slow worker.

I think the feeling of helplessness and panic is directly related to the general proximity to 180 days. I was fine until I got to about 160 days, and started seeing mid-July getting approved. That's when the worry starts to hit that something's gone wrong.

    We'll get there!

  16. ...

I just tried to use the RFE trick for the first time and they said they couldn't access my petition.

    ... *very quietly freaks out*

.. what the heck does THAT mean!?

    *sigh*

It means they can't help you. Sure they could look and maybe make something up to tell you, but they decided they would just not help you at all and add to your anxiety.

I really hope you hear something soon!

You're so right. I called them back and they basically said they'd get to it, when they got to it. (they said they work thru a crate and if its next then great, if its at the bottom well... not their fault). I figured that was at least honest, if extremely frustrating.

  17. Question - I have never call USCIS. What is the RFE trick? How do you guys call and get a person in Vermont?

    thanks -

    suz

    Here is the RFE trick Suz: 1-800-375-5283, 1, 2, 2, 4, 2, 1, EACxxxxxxx, 1, 1

It will get you to someone at VSC.

    Good luck!!!

Thanks Zee - I'm going to try it...

Let us know how it goes? I was planning on callign them on my lunch break. I'm getting pretty close to six months. Maybe they need a kick in the pants to remember the mid-June filers!

    Good luck!

  18. Hi Guys, I have tried very very hard to be patient...then I tried very very hard to do something to feel that I could move this along...ie write letters, call people, send hershey kisses, certify letters, faxes, emails.........and not to upset Oscar with my feelings of anxiety and sadness but in 1 week it will be 6 months since they recieved our petition and we have never recieved a touch or nothing......and when I called USCIS they told me the after 180 days I have to wait 30 days until I can file a formal request for service.......This is killing me now that they are into July for some approvals.....I would rather they at least send me an RFE(not that I want one but at least to know something) then look at that screen every day and see the same last date as June 5, 2007.....augh.....Just having a moment........Lora

I know exactly how you feel. i get a little more edgy every day I get closer to 180 days. Pete's asked me to call and make sure they haven't simply lost our paperwork. I haven't called them at all thus far, simply because I know it won't do me any good, but... I think I'll call Monday.

You really shouldn't have to file formal request for service. I paid for it within six months- it should happen! ... it might be rude of me to say so, but I don't really care for their excuses (reasons whatever :P ).

We'd thought we were going to have a late winter wedding, back when VSC was going strong, and now we're thinking maybe October.

    :clock:

  19. Happy Turkey Day!!! Its the last one all of us will be spending alone. November has turned into one helluva month for approvals. Hope it keeps getting better.

Im happy for everyone gthat got approvals thus far...but im getting concerned about ours...alot of people before AND after us have been approved. Is it possible there is a problem with ours?? Do many people get denied??? Im starting to panic.

Me too! It's easy to start getting upset when you see your peers from the same times getting approved while you're passed over. Yours and Mine must be on the same desk with the same lazy worker.

    We'll hear soon! :)

    Happy Thanksgiving!

  20. chinemeze, how did UScis tolld you that your case was now assigned to an adjucator? Did they put you on hold and transfer you to one of the representatives in csc? Coz Ive filed my case close to yours, so I'm expecting were on the same batch.

I used the RFE trick and was transfered to CSC, the lady I spoke to asked me for my case # and she started to tell me that it was not yet 6 months, but I told her that I had mailed it in since 5/29/07. Then she told me to wait and seemed to have looked into another screen besides the one we all see, then she told me that my case has been assigned to an officer and that it could be about 2 to 3 weeks to get it approved. Altthough I did not ask her when it was assigned, I know that it could be more or less the time before I see the approval. Besides, the call I made has not triggered any changes to my online status as far as being touched.

What exactly is this RFE trick? I've seen it mentioned bunches of times but no explanation? :help:
