  1. I was told the same thing....I tried to call that number and it did not work either....I can't remember what I did, but I kept trying

different menu's and I finally got hold of a person who helped me get to someone to fill out an expedite form....

she said that due to my history that I could file as USC error...which I did and she then she told me that I would hear in

5 business days....I did hear in 2 days and was turned downed saying that I did not "qualify" for an expedited form"

I do not what else to do at this point....you can see our timeline for explanation of our process...

Nothing else to do but wait....although I would love to call but I know that I would probably just wind up being more frustrated.

I hate these people. I called today to ask them to do an expedite and they told me I wasn't in an emergency situation, and nor was I miltary so, tough sh*t.

WHy do they tell you you can, if you cant?

I just have to wait .. forever apparently.

  2. Okay guys, I need your thoughts

I jsut called the national number and talked to a very nice, but seriously dim, customer service rep. She asked me questions about other forms, made me repeat how to spell everything five times, and asked me for my zipcode at least six times. This was of no help, so I did what most people do when they're desperate.

They call the service center. Usually they're more helpful. Anyway, I talked to a nice guy, who said that at this point I could file for an expedite, since its been nearly eight months, and it was outside of processing.

He said dial the national number, 1,2,2,6,2 (no receipt number) and i could talk to a rep.

    ... this doesn't work.

Any tips or was he just bs'ing me to get me off the line? He assured me, however, that like it has been for the last two months, it was exactly where it needed to be for a decision.

    Tips, suggestions? :crying::crying:

  3. I emailed a couple of people who sent in in July to see if they had just failed to update their timeline....

Erin and Koska (Greece...July 30) received theirs in Dec. and had not updated but have now...

That puts those who sent in in July down to 23.

I just may have to call the VSC again out of pure FRUSTRATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did you get any "Nope, still waiting" replies?

I called the National number yesterday because its been seven months AFTER June 18th, and they said that they're currently processing May 18 - June 18. So, there's no inquiry for anybody in those dates, even though its been nearly eight months.

    Boo, guys. BOO.

  4. I'd guess there is a 80+% chance your total wait will be between 7½ to 9½ months. All you can do is wait it out. Don't panic. Things will come, in time.

I'd like to make sure of one thing. Everybody in that topic who said that the wait should be 8 or 9 months, did you mean the total wait between I-129F is sent and the K-1 visa is received or did you mean the wait between I-129F is sent and USCIS approves the petition (NOA2 sent)?

It shouldn't be 8 months, but it CAN be eight months from NOA1 to NOA2.

  5. Hey everyone,

I was just looking at my timeline and it now says the estimated time is till June 12th. However about one month ago it said May 28th, what may have created the change and how close of an estimate is this?

It's just averageing together the data its currently been given so for example if Molly & Bob took 8 months and had just entered their NOA2 data in suddenly your date will be longer. If three weeks later Matt & Jennifer enter their data and they got an NOA2 in four months, the date will be moved forward anywhere between a few days, and a week or two depending on the size of the sample. It's simple averages.

Mine says my adjudication date is October 28, 2007. I'm still waiting. Don't count on your projected timeline to be accurate. Everybody is different. The best advice I can give you is to find something to keep you busy.

  6. Hello everyone,

Recently, I had a conversation with my Congressman's office regarding the length of time many people are having to wait for their K-1 Visa's for their Fiancess. Interestingly, I was told congress had received a number of complaints about the delays. My congressman in particular has called the USCIS and was told in person and in writing that the majority of cases were being adjudicated from receipt in the mail to completion within six months. I informed them that this must not be true and that they should really ask for a more accurate report and/or evidence to support this. My congressman's office was also told the bulk load resulting for the recent price changes is now nearly stablized and they are heading back to getting the requests completed within their normal time of about 4 months. I explained that this could not be true again and requested they inquire further. My congressman's office agreed to call on my behalf the USCIS Monday to assertain what is happening with my expedite request and reverify the work load. Perhaps our congress does not really know the length it is taking. I was told if for some reson your Fiancees name hits some reference with the FBI it could take years for them to resolve this. Not good news. Just what I was told. Wonder what your congressman would tell you?

My congressman's office was no help whatsoever when I hit six months. She said, wait another month, and if you still haven't heard, then come back. I came back when I got to seven months, and she said that on average these cases really do take about A YEAR, and that USCIS was desperately underfunded(thought $455/petition and how many million petitions plus tax dollars... come on i can do the math there! yes i know it was 170 before but still that's quite a bit times a million) and that I should be patient, and wait ANOTHER month, because if I pushed too hard now they might ignore me later.

I cant' tell you how ridiculous and unhelpful this office has been. To be put off, over and over, and get no response unless I call her office and ask to to please reply, even when I have already emailed her...

I just wish my congreess person's office would think hard enough to go.. 'huh that is weird.'

  7. On a side note: Anyone else have problems ordering water in the US? That's the only hurdle I've encountered on my visits. My requests for water were not understood in five separate restaurants - and one lady even asked if I'd said 'lemonade'. I have no problem ordering anything else, and my accent isn't that obtuse! (I have a Sussex/London accent).

Water... Lemonade... hmmm - no I still can't find any similarity in pronunciation!! I find it is pronounced more like "wodder" in SoCal

Ok - so how many people living in the US now have picked up some of the accent so they have a UK/US hybrid?!!?

I haven't picked up anything buy vocabulary off Pete. I tend to say bin instead of garbage can, and its caused some confusion at work, but that's life. I've noticed a tendency to use 'reckon' on occasion, as well as occasionally ringing someone, instead of calling them, but that's just occasionally.

I can't even imitate his accent very well, its just a very clipped northern accent and I just can't seem to do it, though Pete loves to poke a bit of fun at my new york accent.

"Oh, Cassie (my cat) is very sawwwwwft is she?"

I had to order for Pete at the bar during my Christmas party. He requested a beer and got. "I'm sorry, sir, a what?' the first three times. (it was actually pretty funny).

  8. Let's hope and pray that they will clear out our remaining June and July petitions next week!!!!

    others-301.GIF

I'm hoping. I really want to plan my wedding someday! I keep getting catalogs in the mail for invitations and save the dates and I keep having to put them in a pile. If I look at them I get frustrated. But, hopefully soon for all of us may, june and july filers! (are there any april filers left or have those all been cleared?)

pompom.gifpompom.gif Go slow old adjudicators go! pompom.gifpompom.gif

  9. THey seriously won't tell you its not lost?!

... You'd think if there was even the SLIGHTEST possibility that they lost it they'd ask for you to mail a new one? I mean okay, that's you know... LOGIC.. but ....

They always tell me they know exactly where it is. It just doesn't get worked on.

The woman did seem sympathetic, but she still couldn't help me in any way.

It really is hard, but there's nothing else we can do.

do you call national customer service line or use the RFE trick?

Also, I don't know how frequently or infrequently you call, but I would advise writing down the officer you talk to and what they say, every time. if you have to take it to a congress person or the ombudsman in the future, it'll be good to have that detail.

  10. We got it. We actually got it. WE GOT IT!!!!!!!!!!! Yes, yes yes!!!!! Woohoooooooo!!!!!!!!! The Current Case Status had finally changed, and it now says "On January 18, 2008, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)."

I flew back from the States today. This excitement sure is helping my jetlag!!

Congratulations! It's good to see a July filer get an approval :D

  11. Well, I checked the website for approvals for VSC...there were 3 yesterday...1 from Sept. and 2 from Oct.

There is movement just not for June-July....

Come on VSC....got find those crates that someone left in the truck!!!!!!!

You have no idea how great it would be if they could just tell me that they know without question that they know where my petition is. Actually, you know that better than I do.

I really hate that Lindsay has to go through this. It has to be harder on her than it is on me.

  12. I noticed on the USCIS' website that they are still showing, posted December 14, 2007. I also noticed that they "update that monthly" to show which application date they are working on.

I filed my I-129F for my German Fiance and received my NOA1 on January 9. We want to start planning our wedding. Is an August wedding too much to dream of?

I would wait to plan until you have your NOA2. If your interview gets scheduled right away, and your fiance is ready to come immediately (wow are you lucky!!) ... go visit the judge and have a ceremony when you're ready and you're sure its safe to schedule it.

I bought a wedding dress, assuming it'd take a while to be ordered and then I'd only have to have it in the house for a month or two...

Its been in my house for 4 months. USCIS is unpredictable at best. I thought I'd get married in February. I'm thinking maybe in October, now.

  13. Hey guys..I just heard back from our congressmans office and they received an email back from their

inquiry and it said that our file was in the "processing unit"....has anyone ever heard that term used and

if so....do you know what that means?

Of course, that statement was followed by the statement that they (the congressman) could call back and check

in....are you ready for this....."30 to 60 days"....YEP....I know all of you are totally and completely shocked by that

    statement!!

Oh. No, I'm not surprised at all. When I hit six months I asked my congressman to look into it and they said that I'd been with an adjudicator as of 11/28. (i'm unclear if that means that the crate was simply checked out, or if it was being worked). That was followed by the statement that if I hadn't heard by January I was welcome to call back. This was right around the 29th, or so. I called January 9th because I still hadn't heard and she said that I should really expect the NOA1- NOA2 process to take a YEAR, but if I hadn't heard by mid-February I could call back again. I'm sure if I haven't heard by Mid-Feb and I call them back again I'll be told to call back again in March.

Bah I tried to edit this and it got eaten.

We're gonna get approved eventually Charlene, just you wait! And, its worth it no?

And extra :luv: to everybody here that's offered suggestions, tips, commiseration, encouragement, and shared lots of laughs as we all wait. You guys have all been wonderful and I'm grateful that I have all of you to share this time with. If I was going it alone I'd have gone stark raving crackers by now!

Yeah I was afraid that it meant nothing....but I was just curious....I guess everyone is down it seems and quiet the last few days...I totally relate...

I have got to focus on something else...or this is going to take its toll on me....

I hope the next time I pull this up there will be better news!!!!!!!!

I agree. I have to take breaks or I get a little overly upset about it. But, its also good to have support. It's a fine balance I think.

I re-read what I wrote last night.. 'just you wait!' and it made me laugh this morning. Yeah, that's what we're gonna do, unfortunately. wait.

But we will have good news soon. I have faith that Lora will at least get a reply soon. She's gotten touches! they can't be bad :P

  16. I asked if they could check the pulse for me.....the guy laughed....I told him I knew CPR if needed...then he said you would get an answer soon

that was a week ago so......soon means???????????????????

any time in the next three months, silly.

Wow .....First time I have smiled today.....thanks... :P

You're very welcome. Anything I can do to spread smiles amongst we downtrodden.

I called and talked to a lady at VSC and she actually put me on hold and (presumably didn't fetch herself a coffee) checked on my case. She actually thought the current processing date was June 1! I had to tell her I wish that it were! But anyway, she said my case was 'where it needed to be to make a decision' (whatever that means) and i should hear in a week to ten days. Of course I don't believe a lick of it, but I was advised to write down the name of any officers or customer service agents I speak to and what they said to me. So, recorded. But anyway. Fun.
