From the P3 from cananda it states the following

 Police certificates from each country in which the applicant has resided for 6 months or longer since the age of 16. Canadian police certificate(s) must be issued within one year of the visa appointment.

So a current PC is required for the interview/visa.

Do you know what will happen when if I show up without it? What's my best course of action?

It's a real grey area as I wasn't living there however I was travelling around Europe and my home base for those 4-6 months was the UK and not Canada.

    Which government website? Link please.

This is from the US Embassy UK

You are required to furnish an ACRO Police Certificate issued within 6 months of the date of the visa interview. Information on obtaining the police certificate is available from the ACPO Criminal Records Office (ACRO) website. This police certificate covers the whole of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

You are also required to complete the personal data form VCU1 (PDF), and should provide as much detail as possible concerning your arrests/cautions/convictions, including those in a third country.

    Here: under police certificate

Yeah I saw that UK one too, and many immigration attorney websites state the 6 months one too.

I have applied for a uk police check today just incase but highly doubt it'll come in in-time for my interview next week. I am pretty confident ill be ok without it.

Required for all countries where you have lived for more than 6 months since the age of 16 and any country where you have been arrested, even if you were not a resident there.  U.S. police certificates are not required.  Police certificates from certain countries are unavailable or are obtained directly by your Embassy (rarely does your embassy execute this step).  Fingerprints are required for certain countries.

Thank you, on the government website it states having lived in another country for over 12 months.

  4. @Greenbaum I am applying from Canada but am confused if I maybe need a police certificate from the UK too?

According the police info table, you only need police certificates if you lived in a country more than 12 months... which I never did in once calendar year. The most i stayed in one calendar year was between 4-6 months and I did that for 4 years.

Do you think I need it? Thanks so much for your help!

My interview is January 15th and I am going over all my documents and trying not to psyche myself out.

    Hello,

    quick timeline:

12-18-19: Interview. Approved. Passport was kept. No 221g given or anything.

12-19-19: Immigrant visa changed to non-immigrant visa as below image.

12-23-19: email by Montreal for DS5535 - Sent back same date. But did not see any change to CASE LAST UPDATED on below image.

Mine looks like below, does yours look the same.

I'm just wondering with the holidays if it caused a delay or the DS5535 causing delay?

Hey! sorry to hear about your added step... Did they give you any information as to why?

I did some research and it seems they give DS-5535 is you have travel history to any us travel banned country, working in the us for 5 years, or any middle eastern background?

  6. Did anyone get any medical exemptions? I wasn't able to get the vaccines (flu and tetanus) required because I have previously had an allergic reaction to them... I just want to make sure this won't cause any issues.

The doctor at the medical signed off on it and I also got my family doctor to write a note incase.

    Hello,

My Fiancé got his fingerprint done on 12/5/19 for police certificate, we still have not received the results.

Today he went and got the police certificate with his name and date of birth background check.

He is traveling to Montreal on Monday early morning, interview date is Dec 18.

How many days does it typically take for the police certificate with fingerprint to arrive in mail?

I would follow up with them. I got mine done in October and I never received them. RCMP takes no responsibility they blamed in on Canada Post not delivering. I have had to get them ordered a second time and repay a second time.

I am still waiting to receive them, they should be here this week. My interview is January 15th so I am happy i ordered early so I am not set back by this. Really hoping they deliver properly this time.

Well it's Sunday at most embassy's. The first ready is the electronic version and your paper file will cause the second ready. But, to see that you need to know where your case file is about now. So use the DHL hack to follow your paper file. Now you have a better idea when to expect the second ready.

Thank you! sorry i miswrote, i got my first ready on november 15th. I know there was american thanksgiving but maybe people got their 2nd ready within a week.

  9. Did you guys sent in your packet 3 info upon receiving your first "Ready"? I just got my first "Ready" today and wondering if I wait to send in the packet 3 until next week...

I am just a couple of weeks behind you all and have found your thread extremely helpful. Super excited to see you all getting approved and wishing you luck with your move :D

Yeah! Everytime I call I get the standard message like we r 2 busy 2 talk 2 u haha! I call at different times of the day and its still the same thing! And then the call automatically hangs up! I use the 603-334-0700 number! Should I call the other line? 603-334-0888?

Yeah i would suggest trying both  numbers. I would call everyday... and i found that at 730 EST (im in montreal, canada) I would get straight through most times to a person. I had more luck with the 0888 number. Good luck and keep calling. Its most certainly worth the wait to get your case number

Just called this morning around 7:30 PST:
Phone (for nonimmigrant visa inquiries only): (603) 334-0888
Press "1" to talk to a representative (didn't wait for the message to read)

They asked for my receipt number

I only had to wait about 2 minutes before someone answered.

She said they had received our case (NOA2: 9/27) but hadn't assigned us a case number yet.

She said they are currently processing cases from 9/18 and couldn't give me any information about how long or how many "days" they get through at a time.

Hope this helps anyone who is still waiting.

    I am NOA2: 9/27 too.

I called at 9am today and they said the case was received but not yet processed. Keep me posted on the status of yours and when you get your case# as we will be in the same batch :) They just updated their page as processing sept 23rd.
