sysw got a reaction from Sinead91 in July 2020 AOS Filers
AOS interview notice received and scheduled for April 28th for the Portland, OR office! Took about 9.5 months in total from filing to interview date which is still longer than normal but faster than what we initially had expected.

From the looks of this group, it looks like a lot of July filers are seeing progress!

We already had the DS 3025 done and our AOS filed within a year of it so we won't need another medical but do need to bring the DS 3025.

Received our EAD and AP combo card in the mail today. Altogether, it took 213 days from filing to receiving (we did not expedite) which is bonkers to think about as I know in the past applicants received it within 1 to 2 months of filing, but I suppose it makes sense considering all that's happened in the US the past year.

Now waiting on the SSN and AOS interview.

Hoping things go smoothly for everyone else as well.

Our EAD status was changed to "New Card is Being Produced" today! Noticed the AP status remains the same as "Case was Received" though.

If we applied for EAD + AP as a combo card, is it normal for only the EAD status to show the card is being produced?

Unexpectedly we received our biometrics appointment letter for the i485 and i765 in the mail today. Notice date was Oct 23 and our appointment is for November 20.

The USCIS website, the USCIS app, the Lawfully app... none of these changed from "case was received" and "fingerprint fee was received". Even now the statuses remain unchanged and there were no other notification made to us so this was a complete surprise as we had been checking the above options multiple times on a daily basis.

We did, however, file a service request on Oct 19 as our 90 day mark for our local asc reopening had passed. Not sure if this biometrics scheduling was due to that but for anyone else waiting, I would definitely advise giving it a try!

And as others noted on here, the USCIS page and app appears to be completely unreliable in updating accurately, so for those that are very anxious, it seems communicating with a live rep seems to be the most and perhaps only accurate status checker.

Wishing everyone else good news very soon!

sysw got a reaction from Lemonslice in Demonstrating financial standings for K-1 as an expat when both live abroad
We can and we did strongly consider that as an option, however, I would still need to prove domicile requirements if we obtained a marriage license from another country and then applied for a CR1 and rather than go through the visa process apart after building an initial life together here over the past decade, we decided to try for the K1 (despite its known disadvantages) and try and submit as much relevant evidence (such as my father's cosponsoring) to prove our willingness and intent to settle in the States and to also demonstrate neither of us would prove a public charge.

I understand our K1 case in terms of our relationship, our current living situation, and our local laws all makes us an atypical case which is why I'm kindly asking for any experienced "veterans" who have gone through the process in similar conditions.
