We filed for AOS in Feb. 2021, got bio 5 months later.  And EAD/AP soon after.  Now it's been a year without any change until this week.  Just an auto-renewal of the EAD/AP card being sent out.  No news on an interview for AOS yet.  Over 500 days since filing.  If you are in a smaller city, then you may have better luck than we have had though.

OK, so I need to update this.  wow, it turns out the new card wasn't an auto-renewal for EAD/AP.  It was the 2 year Green card!!!  So this big part of our journey has come to an end, and we didn't ever have an AOS interview.  Maybe others will be so lucky!  Good luck to you!

Just had a status change that a new card is coming.  I think it's just a EAD/AP auto-renewal, so we aren't getting our hopes up yet.  It's kind of wild waiting for over 500 days now for an interview.  SMH

wow, wow, wow.   It was not an auto-renewal.  It was the 2yr Green Card!!!  to say we are excited and surprised is an understatement.  No interview and no new documentation.  Just waited a year since the EAD/AP card and it came.  wild.  Thanks to everyone that helped and supported us and others along the way.  Good luck to everyone that is still waiting and hang in there!

Any filers around DFW area still waiting on AOS interview?

    NOA1- 03/14/2021

    Biometrics- 8/16/2021

    Ready to schedule interview- 8/18/2021

    Combo card in hand- 10/28/2021

We are in Houston and still waiting.  almost a year since we filed now.  And Combo card has been in had since October as well.  Still waiting for a SSN appointment to be scheduled.  Can't even get the local office on the phone to schedule.  It always just rings for 20 minutes and transfers to national office, who can't do anything.  It's pretty ridiculous.  We want to make summer plans, but are hesitant to do anything until we know when the interview will be. It would suck to have to cancel all the plans or miss the interview or reschedule.  If we can reschedule?  IDK

Hope we see some movement soon.

Had you applied for the SSN card when filling up your AOS application? If not, that’s why you have to go the SSN office and didn’t automatically received it.

There is a checkbox on the EAD form I-765 to get SSN with the EAD.  We checked the box.  SS office said nothing had been sent to them and no record of a number for her.  So here we are.  Waiting another month for an appointment, then however long after that for the number.  We are not surprised.

  5. My wife's EAD status changed to approved and card shipped!  And the AP status change to approved and instructions mailed.  Or something to that effect.  Her son's AP status is unchanged.  I'm guessing his will update soon? We didn't apply for EAD since he is too young to work, so it seemed irrelevant.  Hoping her SSN comes with the EAD card as well so i can squeak it in on the income tax filing just under the wire.  :) Needless to say, We are excited.

Do you try to chat with them as i suggested, calling USCIS will not work for your emergency request, they hardly answer anyone calls this days, right now you can still chat with them and get your expedite request through.

They called and we discussed the process.  But sadly emergency means it'll still take a week or two, which is too long for emergencies. Not to mention it doesn't expedite your current filing, you have to file an all new form and pay another fee. So we decided it wasn't useful so we will just wait.  I expect her EOD and AP to come any time now.  I have seen average is between 30-60 days after biometrics.  🤞

    Sorry for your lost.

you can use emaa to make quick expedite request and live agent will attend to you in less than 5 minutes.

Just type ''Live chat'' then select Green card and wait for the Agent.

I hope it all goes well.

Thanks, we just waited the 80 min for an agent and seems like we have to wait until Monday or Tuesday to get a call back for an emergency interview.  So sadly "emergency" in USCIS means about a week or two.  IDK if it will be possible to even go by then.  :(

  8. Hey guys.  We have had a death in my wife's family and she needs to get back to her country.  Her AOS status shows "ready to schedule interview, we will schedule interview and send you information". something like that.  We are currently on hold for 79 minutes to talk to someone, but I wondered if we can expedite the existing AP request or do we need to do a new one?  It feels like the AP approval should be any day, but we need it now.  Did biometrics 3 weeks ago, so IDK.  we will see what they say.

    Texas.
its listed on the txdps website that i797's is one of the form of verification
    https://www.dps.texas.gov/sites/default/files/documents/driverlicense/documents/verifyinglawfulpresence.pdf

i have it renewed a couple of times before with either my EAD, unexpired DL, i think it was my i20 the very very first time but now all those three had expired just a month before i went for a renewal

Congrats that you got it approved.  TX also lists some other things on their website for other things like registration that are not accurate, or the workers are not well versed on how to do their job.  IDK, but either way it's annoying.  We are just waiting for SSN to get the DL, we don't need it anytime soon so we can wait.

Did we have to leave it blank on i 485? Part 2 , question 3 and 4? I am k1. On question 3 i put my noa2 k1 visa approval notice reciept number.  I got my package back since i checked wrong box on another question.

i think yes for the derivative (child K2).  I think we put the visa approval number and date for my fiancee as well, but they accepted it.  IDK  Now that we have my fiancee's 797 receipt we will use that for the child's forms.  But the priority date i'll leave empty.

  11. So apparently only my fiancee's packet was accepted.  Her child's packet was sent back to us and rejected because they "could not verify priority date".  My understanding was the K2 piggy backs off of the principal, but we could file them together.  Basically what they returned to us says we need the copy of the principal's I-797 and send back.  So it's like we can't file them together.  From looking at the receipt numbers it seems they started on the child's first and of course didn't see the principal yet since that one wasn't started yet.  The separate packets were in the same FedEx package together.  IDK, seems strange to me.  I suppose we need to wait for my fiancee's receipt info and then send back the child's and it should be fine.
