Hey mate, glad everything is working for you. Tik is also nearing the end of this part of the process (sending in packet 3 the day after tomorrow). I was wondering if you bought a one way ticket from Thailand to the US and if you did, how much did it cost. Everything I find costs almost as much as a round trip. The best deal I found to JFK was $882 and she would have a layover in Abu Dhabi. So what's the plan for you?
Hi there...
I went with a one way ticket as the round trip was about $100 more. It came out to $1065 with tax. It will be a straight flight from BKK to San Fran. From there we travel to LAX then to Tucson. Your ticket is pretty reasonable.
Try this place: I don't know if they offer tickets from BKK to New York but a round trip ticket from New York to BKK is advertised at about $650 http://www.consolidated-fares.com/country....th&code=BKK Another option is to look at some of the travel agents in BKK. They usually have cheaper fares.

Thanks all,
I appreciate it.

This probably doesn't fit here, but maybe I can get some help.
What is a good cushion of time for getting through a POE. We will be coming through San Francisco and as it stands, we have about 3 hours. Our travel agent has given us the option of another flight to our final destination, but it means we would have 2 hours at the POE. Thoughts?

Total, before taxes

Kampong received her Packet 3 @ 2 AM my time. Needless to say, she called me all excited an woke me from a deep sleep and I ended up working today on only 2 hours sleep.....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz I couldn't get back to sleep because I was going through the checklist over and over in my head and then something clicked in my head.......I realized that she needed to renew her passport, DAMN!! It expires in September and it needs to have 8 months validity on it prior to the issue of visa. #######!!
She is going to head off to BKK this weekend from Lamduan and apply for her new passport, fortunately it only takes 3 days for the new passport and she will also get her police check done while she is there. Once she has her new passport, she will send in the DS-230, pictures and copy of the photo page of her new passport.
We can see the light at the end of the tunnel now, I hope that she will have her interview by the end of March but that may be just some wishful thinking.
Chok dee to all.............
You are probably looking at mid to late April for an interview.

I love slow cookers. You can't go wrong with it. I made pot roast a few weeks ago. Just put the roast in the pot, added the vegetables on top, poured in a little red wine and cooked for about 6 hours on low. Very good.

The PE license is not needed but it puts you ahead of many. http://www.ncees.org/exams/professional/
It's almost like going to school and getting your bachelors degree. Many do that. Others go further and get their masters. That is analogous to the PE.
-
Yes it is important. What kind of engineer is he? If you really want to get far in the engineering field (depending on the type he is), getting your PE license is very critical.

we eat cow brains.
nasty anyway you think of it.
as nasty as haggis
Have you actually eaten haggis to call it nasty? As for the brains. With all the talk about different forms of brain wasting disease from eating neural tissue, I'd pass.

Hello All.
It is great to see a Thailand thread.
My Fiancee is a native of Thailand but right now she is studying English in England.
A couple of questions on the G-325A. I am completeing her work history and some of the addresses in Thailand are very long. Do you shorten the address or use additional pages or what?
Are some of the addresses very long or am I misunderstanding her?
2- Native alphabet? Is this something I do by copying and pasting from translation sites?
But I have to send the G-325A back to her to sign anyway so can she fill it in herself?
Thanks so much
George
Either. She can fill it in, or you can have her spell it out in her native alphabet and then you can copy and paste

Something about front washers. You need to make sure you keep the door open a bit to let moisture escape. If not, you will have a mildew problem. It is also important to wipe down the gasket on the door as mildew will grow around it.

This is so wonderful that so many have been approved at the interviews as well as many of you now have dates!
Wont be long now.
To anyone who has recently went along to the interview, what did you wear? Or what did you see people wearing?
I'm really trying to pack light so that my fiancée can use my second suitcase for more of her stuff. Because of this, I'm trying to only bring what I would need for the interview, and a couple other sets of clothes.
Suit, Tie?
Nice Pair of pants and a tucked in white shirt?
I'm just wondering what everyone wore, or saw people wearing while they were there.

Thanks to everyone for the replies. I hate that it happened on a Friday. The three day wait to find out what on earth they want is difficult but I know many of you have been through it before and made it OK so there is hope for me also. I am the kind of guy that paces in from of my micro wave so patience is not my strong suit...LOL
I will report here as soon as I find out what it is.
Thanks again for the responses and input here.
Terry
since we both got RFE feb 8 lets see which of us gets a hardcopy first I would imagine you because i live in Indiana and your in California
Good luck. With the fall of the dollar you are going to take a real beating in Europe. Things aren't going to be any better in September most likely. Your best bets are S. America, Asia or the Middle East (seriously, Dubai is supposed to be a very nice place...very westernized). If you are dead set on going to Europe, I'd really recommend going through a local travel agent. You get what you want and can customize everything.

Interesting. I had to look them up on Wikipedia.
You had to look up Hmong?
-
Calling the number is a complete waste of time. I don't even know why they give the option to talk to someone regarding an RFE if the person won't give out information.

I can understand the idea of lowering taxes, but why would he take after tax money and put it in to his 401K? It's like being taxed twice.
-
I'd hate to see the grocery bill.
-
All you really need to do is prove you have met face to face within the last 2 years. If he has boarding passes, stamps in his passport and there are pictures of you two together, you are fine.

Anyone else have a fiance(e) get their interview on April 3rd? My fiancee's is at 7 am.
Awesome Jamie! I am really happy for you and your siamese kitten ; - )
Thank you SqdnGuns. I am sure yours won't be too far off either. Just think, when started this journey, we thought we would be over this by December
Just glad this part of the journey is almost over.
Thank you too ThaiStyle

Packages my fiancee sends me from Thailand are often opened. Once she sent me lots of different snacks including different flavored potato chips They slit each bag open but one.
When I send cards to her, they rarely get to her unless I send them global priority. The postman must be looking for money in the cards.
