Talk to your landlord about him or move somewhere.
I missed this one...
Wow, move somewhere. That solves everything.

Attack back with the Barney "You love me, I love you" song at full volume!
That sounds like a plan, that or ABBA.

My downstairs neighbor has no respect for myself or the other apartments that adjoin his. He listens to his stereo so loud sometimes my floor literally vibrates. The other night it was until well after 1 am. This was the first Sunday in a long time I took off from work. I wanted to relax but was woke up to this ####### and it's been going on all day. I guess stomping on the floor or slamming doors etc doesn't get the point across. I've already had a talk with him about a month ago and he apologized. It was fine...for a while.
I'm trying to get by until my fiancee is here and we can start seriously looking in to purchasing a home...for the time being, I'm here. So for anyone that has had to deal with similar circumstances, what did you do? This guy is the maintenance supervisor for the complex, so any repairs I need done, he has access to my apartment. I really don't want to rock the boat too much at this point.

Getting married in Thailand is not going to make it any easier for her to come to the States as easily as you can fly to Thailand. You wouldn't apply for a K1 visa if it is your intent to move to Thailand as the K1 visa is for those individuals wanting to come to the US to marry their S.O.
A tourist visa is also very difficult for most Thai's to obtain. So...I think you need to decide what you want. If it's moving to Thailand then hold off on anything until you are ready to move, or if you want her to come there to live with you, apply for the K1 and marry her and then move back to Thailand at a later date.
Are you planning on teaching in a university? I'm sure you are aware that teaching positions for farangs in the LOS are not always the most lucrative positions unless you can get in with a university or international school. There have been a lot of changes just recently in how work visas are obtained by westerners there. I'm bringing this up because if you haven't already looked into salaries, the difficulties in obtaining solid work, and sometimes the difficulties in obtaining a work visa, it could help you determine if you want to move there, or have her move to the States.
If you haven't visited this site, I suggest you do: http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/index.php?showforum=46 You can learn a lot about teaching in Thailand.

No fare search engine is perfect because not all airlines participate with each one

What ever happened to Zubaz? Now that was a fashion statement.

I thought that I sent everything my fiancee was needing for her interview, but she mentioned to me she needs an entire copy of what was submitted in the I-129F. Is this correct?
At the interview they have the right to ask for any origial of a copy filed with the I-129F - so if you submitted copies of your birth certificate they can ask to see the original. The same goes with divorce decrees, boarding passes and receipts. From what I've read they rarely do this, however, know they can ask for it. They've already got your file with your original submission. I made three exactly the same sets of documents - two with copies (in case my mailed in application was somehow misplaced) and one set that included only original documents and no copies. I will bring this one with me when I go with my Fiancee to the interview (of course I will have my I-134 as well).
Thanks...sent the original materials I had to her today. I contacted my attorney to send a copy of our I-129F for her as well.

Wilaiwan says that she didn't get any instructions pertaining to her medical with the packet three she received. The old checklist that I downloaded referred to following the included documents to obtain your medical exam. Is there something missing that we need, or can she just make an appt. at Bumrungrat and proceed?
She sent it in yesterday so we've joined the que!
Have her just schedule the appt, my fiancee is going to her medical on 3/13 Bumdundgrad (sp?)
My fiancee is going on the 14th.
For those that have had their fiancee go through the interview, do you have a list of questions they asked her?
-
You can also write the embassy to find out if your appointment was scheduled. We did that the beginning of February to find out our interview appointment was scheduled for the the 3rd of April.

Okay, you asked for it.
Solve the following second-order differential equation:
y"-2y'-15y=0
y=C1e5x+C2e-3x
Congrats. Now go make your own math problem thread and quit ruining it for consolemaster.
Last time I checked this was an open forum...if you want to exchange math problems where no one bothers you, do it in PM. THanks

Lionel Richie fans out there? I know there are...
I've been alone with you inside my mind
And in my dreams I've kissed your lips a thousand times
I sometimes see you pass outside my door
Hello, is it me you're looking for?
I can see it in your eyes
I can see it in your smile ...

Try smuggling drugs into Thailand. You get an all inclusive stay at the luxurious Bangkok Hilton.
Depending on the amount, you could be looking at life....or the death penalty.

I don't like anything I'm "subjected" to...like my upstairs neighbours with their rap and R&B...wouldn't be bad if the stereo wasn't on the same wall as my bedroom and turned up at midnight...also, what's the deal with songs that sound exactly the same with different lyrics (i.e. reggaeton...); the kids in my neighborhood are going to be deaf playing it as loud in their cars as they are...I keep my music to myself, why can't they show the same courtesy?
I have to put up with that same b.s. from my neighbor downstairs. He thinks it is ok to play his stereo as loud as he wants. Now, when I get up for work in the morning (usually by 4) I stomp around as loud as I can, dropping things on the floor etc. It probably wouldn't be so bad if he played halfway decent music.

Anything from James Blunt or Michael Bolton...
Shame on you. Michael Bolton is a true American icon. Michael and David Hasselhoff are the two reasons that foreigners flock to the U.S. True American icon indeed.

Good to hear you got that straightened out. Always better to print them off than to wait on the embassy. It took my fiancee weeks to get P3. Well after we printed everything off and sent what was needed back to them.

They are running out of options. How much more can they cut? Our money is worth about 0.66 Euros now? Nice.
Half the reason oil is so expensive now is because our money is worthless. On the other hand, I work for a mining company that produces certain metals that have been doing well because of the how devalued our money has become.

The point is we can run for hundreds of years with available supplies and existing technology. It isn't a short term solution, it's a long term one. Look at France. They get most of their electricity from nuclear power. It works for them.
Not quite right. There are just as many people talking about peak uranium as there are peak oil.

No one who understands biofuel production actually believes corn is the answer. Most believe it lies in the use of cellulose from waste materials. Although I guess we could always continue to suck off the teat of the oil producing nations. I mean, oil is never going to run out...right?
The problem with ethanol is that it will never be a viable alternative to gasoline. There just is not enough latent energy within crops to ever power even Texas. Conservation is important, but trying to mandate consumption is a VERY slippery slope.
As far as cellulose from waste materials, that's not going to provide much. It would be much better used as a fuel for small power providers. Again, all of the plants in the world couldn't fuel America.
The only option we have that will significantly reduce oil consumption is nuclear power. The problem is it is expensive infrastructure and the capitalist climate in America makes such a higher priced alternative hard to justify. Another option is clean coal power plants. They can provide electricity.
Using nuclear extensively, we could probably produce enough hydrogen for our transportation needs. However, hydrogen is a ######. It isn't like gasoline. Fuel cells are probably the best bet. Fuel cells are nowhere near that point, though.
The best thing we, as a country could do, is invest heavily in transportation infrastructure and increase the use of flex-time to limit transportation requirements. Quite frankly, most of the US does not have any decent public transit and it greatly increases our fuel needs.
If we were to switch most of our power generation to nuclear power, we would have to find a lot of new sources of uranium. Uranium will end up being the new oil.
Pebble Bed Reactors (if they can get the technology to work) is safer and about 20% more efficient than light water reactors. They can also use other fuel sources besides uranium.

Yes, biofuels will not take care of the problem but it is a step in the right direction. Besides, plant materials don't necessarily have to be made in to ethanol. Look at what BP is doing with butanol. It has more stored energy than ethanol, doesn't have the problem ethanol has with moisture uptake, it can be delivered down the same supply lines that our petroleum fuels are sent, and there is no need to modify the engine/computer of the vehicle using it.

Jamie, what airline or did I miss that?
Northwest. All other airlines were the same price or a bit higher except China Airlines which I don't particularly care for.
