    We were ok without it.

note: if you’re also doing AP, insist on having them take biometrics for that too. If you do not, you will have to come back again before you can get it. It’s at the officers discretion to let you do both in same session. It’s literally a different and new complete set of prints. Gotta love beaureuocracy .

We literally have a biometrics on 09/01 and 09/02. We will definitely inquire about doing them both in the same day!!

You might want to add his SSN now since that's a sure way it'll get reported  correctly at the bureaus.

Yea I need to figure out how to add it because it never prompted me to.

You are fine. I don't know why they do that.  Hopefully you used  his whole name on the I-485 that's  what will be final and you can update your  SS card and remove the DHS statement once you get your GC.

Yes, we've always put all names on everything, which is why I didn't understand why they only did two.

SSA goes by the name on his I-94, yes it's normal to only list two names (the names on the I-94). Once you get the GC  if you used his whole name you can update the SS card after you get your GC. My wife was able to add her middle name once she got her GC and we requested the change with SSA.

You're so right!. I just had him to check his I-94 form and it's only his First and Last name. I thought that it was a mistake that we made 😩

Just for your info the quickest way to build credit is for you to make him an authorized user on a few of your CCs (provided you have good credit). I added my wife to two of my CCs and in a couple of months time she had very good credit and was able to get her first card in her own name! If you can't add him to your CCs then yes secured is the way to go!

Yes I just added him to my CC but at the time it didn't ask for his social. They did say that they will mail the CC and we can activate it from there... So I'm not sure if at the time of activation it will ask for his SSN to link it or it will help by his name.

Ugggg that is so stressful! We don't have our rescheduled appointment yet, and this is exactly what I feared --we are getting into the appointments for September.  Let's hope for the best, but these could end up being useless.  Or could end up putting us AGAIN at the end of the line when reschedules take a back seat to new appointments again.  I really, really, really , really hope we are wrong about this and it turns out great.

Yea I hope we're really really wrong too. This whole situation is just trash!

It's a normal SSN that can be used for everything and will be his number forever. This text is just a heads up for potential employers and can get removed as soon as he gets his greencard.

Is it normal that it's only his first and last name is on there and not his middle name? Will he get a new card that has all 3 names once it doesn't have the work only notice on it?

  7. Hey yall... I just wanted to update yall with our progress so far. My husband @osally1 EAD and AP were approved on 8/5/2020( we literally spoke with a USCIS rep the day before and she "couldn't give us any further information"🙄. He called USCIS on Thursday, 08/13/2020 and spoke with a rep who informed him that his biometrics appointment has been rescheduled and to just wait on the notice in the mail for the actual date. The following day 08/14/2020, he received his SSN valid for work only in the mail... which we totally weren't expecting!

What state are you in? I'm in Texas and just got my lawful presence verification in the mail. I went to the DMV with my i-797C and they submitted the request to UsCIS. It took about 12 days and now I'm supposed to go back to get my license. My only problem now is that they don't have any available appointments until December 🙄

Hi, with trying to get your driver's license in Texas, do you already have your SSN?

I got it cleared already, she received the rejection letter and they were looking for the missing i-944 form. Yes, she send it feb21 and USCIS received if by the 24th.  The thing is, she uses the updated forms which is specifically for the 24th onward filers only which leads to the confusion of the Immigration Officer upon checking her packet.

Wow! We have to be very careful.

Yes the interview had to be rescheduled, but why does it have to take another three months. We already had to wait 2 months, now he has to wait another three months. It's ridiculous, just saying

Let me tell you!!... We turned all documents in on 05/10/19, our NOA2 expired 06/03/19, Which they assured us that they will validate it at his interview if it expired. The embassy didn't contact us until 07/16/19 to schedule our interview out all the way until 09/11/19. One week before that interview they sent an email of "due to unforeseen circumstance" and rescheduled it to 10/02/19. The morning of his interview while he was on his way they called him and canceled again "due to unforeseen circumstances". He didn't get his interview until 11/06/19. So we waited 6 months for an interview unfortunately. He's was approved and we are now married. I know it's not what you want to see/hear, especially in the wake of what's going on. Stay encouraged!
