Assuming you are talking about CR or IR - 1 and 2, currently US Embassy Manila has largely scheduled all cases DQ up until somewhere around mid January.  No one but a very few expedites DQ'd since January has had interviews scheduled.  So the present backlog is pretty precisely, "since mid January".  There has been no recent discernable new scheduling activity for several months now which is unusual.  There seems to have been some sort of temporary pause in scheduling.

So as of now one could say US Embassy Manila is up to mid January, haven't released many new interview letters in several months, so one could speculate there would be a large batch of new scheduling due to occur "soon".  DQ in February in theory shouldn't be waiting to much longer.  However no one knows for sure when they will send out the next batch since they have lacked consistency lately.

All of the above applies only to CR or IR 1 and 2 at US Embassy Manila.  All categories other than CR or IR - 1 and 2 have totally different backlogs.

    Hello fellow journey members!

Would like to ask how long will I be notified for my wife and son's interview. My application was received and approved by the NVC on February 28, 2023. But until now I have not receive any emails or updates from them.

    Thank you

@powerpuff @appleblossom Thank you so much for replying! I guess I will just wait for the notification from NVC. Thanks again.

The consulate is in the Philippines. Is it possible to call the consulate and ask them to schedule the interview? Or just wait for notification?

The time from DQ to IL varies hugely depending on the consulate they'll be interviewing at. Some are only 3 months or so from DQ date to IL, others are 2 years or more. So which consulate is it?

no that’s not possible. Immigrant visas are scheduled by NVC once your case gets to the front of the line.

Afraid I have no idea on the backlog for Manila, but as @powerpuff has said you're in the queue for an interview and just have to wait to be notified. Hope it's not too much longer for you.

If your child is your blood child, you need to do the CRBA.  They can't give a visa to someone think is a USC.  They will consider the child a U.S. citizen if you say the child is your blood child.  Not really such a thing as "not enough papers" as they can ask for a DNA test if the want to know for sure.

If the child is not your blood child, you can file for a step-child, but that also requires evidence of relationship.

If your child is a U.S. citizen, he/she will not need a separate petition, so you will only need to file the petition for your wife.

You can file the petition as soon as you are able to provide all of the required evidence. You might want to start here:

Note that the Affidavit of Support (where you will need to provide financial documentation) is not needed until after the case is approved by USCIS and goes to the National Visa Center, so don't let that stop you from filing. Having a joint sponsor lined up is a good idea in any case.

    Hello,

I would like to petition my wife and my  3 year old kid to come here in the US. We are married for 4 years now. And I just came back here in the US last February 19, 2021. I am a US citizen and been working as a nurse for about a month now in New York. Am I too early to file for a petition? I know my salary is not enough now but my sister is willing to be the co sponsor. Hope to get answers about my inquiry.

    Thank you,
