  1. Hi all !

My daughter's case has been approved at the beginning of November. Our PD was 03/03/2022.

We had to update our address in the US (sponsor's address), so I think it helped.

And fortunately, I could manage for her case to join mine and we both had our interview on November 30th. Our visas have been issued just today !!! We are very happy.

For me it was a 19 months process and I'm very happy that I can finally see the end.

Good luck to all of you, I'm sure you will soon be approved !

  2. Of course I understand all your points. I just think it's a little bit expensive for just a case that my friend haven't checked. I mean, it's almost the same fee than the whole I-130. And it seems that there are a lot of people who need to fill this form. I've made some research and I was amazed by that. The USCIS agent will just have to send her application to the NVC. I'm sure it will take less than 5 minutes.

In any case it's ok, my friend is going to send her new form with a money order.

Thank you all for your answers 🙂

    HI,

My interview is scheduled in Paris embassy for spouse of US Citizen Visa.

How long does it take for them to process the visa ?

Is it faster to pick up the visa in Paris location than to get the mail delivery option ?

    When is your interview ?

Mine was yesterday and I missed a document so sent them right away. The agent said I should wait two weeks after I send the document to get my visa.

  4. Hi all,

Asking for a friend. Did you have to pay $485 for the I824 ?

She has to send this form because there was a mistake on her I130. USCIS didn't know where they had to send her application (NVC). So they requested her to send the I824 and she did it and it was rejected today because they didn't pay the fees.

Do you think that's normal to pay that amount of money just to tell USCIS "hey send my application to the NVC" ?

    That's not fair !

Thank you for your help 🙂

It is all up to the Paris embassy at this point.  I suggest to keep asking them about your case file.  Did you complete all the prep work?  Fill out the I-864 (your husband), fill out and pay for the DS-260, gather all the civil documents?

yes, everything is ready. Just waiting. Thank you for your answer, we'll keep asking them though... 🙂

  6. Hello everybody,

With my husband, we requested an expedite at the NVC, which was accepted.

NVC sent our case to the Paris embassy on August 5th.

At this point, we still have no news about it. We sent an email to Paris and they said they didn't have our case yet. And when we asked NVC, they said they sent everything on August 5th.

My question is, how long after being expedite do we have to wait for my interview to be scheduled ?

What can we do to speed up the process because it starting to be very long at this point...

Thank you for your help !

How can I expedite my case. I was QD on August 12. I want it to move faster to the embassy. Do I have to do a letter or statement or just an regular email?

I need some clues to push my case to the embassy faster because I already have been RFE and Im so exhausted.

I don't know how you can expedite your case at the embassy because I was only expedite at the NVC stage.

Did you try to contact your embassy ?

How does the offer letter relates to your case? I mean what was the reason for expediting your case even though the offer letter is for your husband, the US citizen?

I just want to know because I would like to try something similar.

    Thanks.

My husband is currently living in France with me. so when he received his offer letter, he sent an email to expedite. He said he should go to the US in September and he would like me to follow him pretty quickly. I think it could work if you currently live abroad with your spouse.

Okay! Hopefully expediting the case at USCIS will work.

If you are scheduled for an interview you should cancel it. And then reschedule the interview for later.

Once you receive the I-130 NOA2 for your daughter you should request an expedite at the NVC stage, too.

Hopefully you will not receive a conditional expedite and your daughter's case will be sent straight to the consulate without having her documents reviewed at NVC.

    Good luck!

Remember: Once your daughter receives her visa she has 6 months from her medical to move to the US.

She can also activate her visa by traveling to the US and then returning to France to complete the school year if she chooses that path.

    Thank you very much,

I'll try to expedite. I hope it will work

Thank you  very much for your advice

(and yes, I know she has 6 months to enter the US but if we are short in time, she will travel and come back to France)

    I'm confused.

When do you want to move to the US?

When do you want your daughter to move to the US?

    It's ok, I wasn't very clear.

I'll move to the US at the beginning of January 2023 if everything is ok for my visa.

My daughter will move to the US at the end of her 2023 school year.

I wanted her visa to catch up mine for several reasons :

    - if she wants to immigrate earlier because she'll miss me too much and doesn't want to stay with her father any longer

    - with USCIS changing their processing times, I'm afraid it would take way too long for her to get her visa and she won't be able to immigrate during summer 2023 at the latest...

    Delay your case at NVC

You probably won't be able to expedite as you were the one's who delayed the case not USCIS.

K4s really aren't a thing anymore. So. you'll need to wait for them to approve the I-130.

ETA: It looks like you've already submitted the DS260 and I-864. You'll probably want to hope for an RFE at NVC stage. Then do not submit the documents they request until your daughter's case reaches NVC. When did you file her I-130?

Yes I already filed everything at the NVC. I'm waiting for their approval (or RFE).

I filed at the beginning of March.

The thing is that she will join me at the end of the school year 2023. and with the new processing times, I'm afraid we won't make it on time.

Do you think I could apply for an adjustment of status for her next year ?

  12. Hi all !

Because of personnal reasons, we had to apply for my daughter (i-130 for a child under 18) way after mine (IR1).

And now we would like her case to join mine at the NVC stage. What could we do ?

Do you think a request for expedite would work ?

I also saw that I could file for a K4 visa but I don't understand how it would work as this visa is link to the K3 visa and I don't need a K3 visa.

Thank you for your precious help !

This is literally the exact same timeline and situation as me. Applied March 2, NOA1 March 3. Receipt said Nebraska, Emma told me Potomac. But it's unclear if I was ALWAYS Potomac or if I was transferred there. A bit confusing.

I am also still in the Receipt stage and hoping to get into Actively Reviewing soon. I've seen some people with a March timeline at Potomac move to AR so I am keeping my fingers crossed that I'm soon.

We are going to still be waiting quite a while though I think. Potomac is SLOW.

I read somewhere that when you are transfered, you keep the processing timeline from your previous service center.

But the thing is that I didn't receive any transfer notice so I don't know

  14. Hi March fillers !

We filled for my daughter (under 21) on March 2nd, and received NOA1 March, 3rd.

We are still waiting but her case is not even under review. It's gonna be 4 months soon... and it's very long !

Our NOA1 said that she was at Nebraska but I downloaded the app "Lawfully" and it says that her case is at Potomac.

I tried to talk with a live agent but Emma didn't let me... It's frustrating !

I'm also in the process but my case is at the NVC stage. We filled mine in June 2021 and I received my NOA1 on January 27th, 2022...

Happy to share this experience with you all ! 🙂
