  1. Hi Prystine,

Some immigration officers will state your reason for going over was to marry not to visit.  Its almost like when applying for a visitor visa if he stated he was going over to visit and get married he would have been denied a visa.  I would be very careful, because immigration looks for ways to deny and this is one thing they can call out.  It will be a shame for the person if her case was denied or very delayed because of this

  2. Plenty people get approved with a short relationship.  You just need enough supporting documentation regarding the relationship, like pictures, phone logs, etc to show strong connection between the two.  Many people experience love at first sight and marry shortly afterwards and live a long and happy life, some do not.  It is not unusual in this day in age.  A high percentage of people meet online this is just reality.  I will suggest personally know him as much as possible just for your own sake.  Communicate with family and friends let immigration see that everyone is aware of this relationship., is all I can say. Best of Luck!!

  3. if you come on a tourist visa with the intentions of getting married in otherwords you know this in advance and it is your reason for the trip yes it is fraud.  Now if you were in the country visiting and you met someone for the first time on your visit that is different, yet you would still have to return to your country to be filed for.

  4. Well if you lived in Massachusetts it is no longer against the law here. But LionessDen is very correct.  He actually should have received an automatic 2 years ban due to the smoking.  Your case is very complicated and I hate to say it but you should have consulted with an attorney before starting the process and probably spending so much money.  All I can say is I see you truly love this man, for you have been with him for so long which is nice to see.  It is truly real.  Again please consult with an attorney, they may have some inside information legally that the rest of us may not know.  I had a friend whose at the time fiancé was back then banned for 3 years.  once the ban was over I told her to marry him and do the spousal visa.  She got through with no problems.  He learned his lesson and chose to stop smoking and being around friends who smoked. I wish you best of luck in your process.

  5. Hi Toyab,

The time frame may vary from 2-3 weeks.  Keep in touch with the women on her strictly with Jamaica.  There is a group of us in the exact same situation with interviews from December to present.  They are very supportive and great to conversate with.  There is MistaLovaLova, Mary J, Sweetsher who I think just got visa issued? and Ladyj just to name a few. Welcome to the group and I wish your husband visa in hand as well.  Ask questions as many as you like.  If one does not know there is usually someone else who will be there to help.

  6. Hello,

So honestly I have not gotten passed AP myself.  My husbands interview was just done on 1/5, but medical was done on 13 December as well, not sent over to the Embassy till 3 January 2017.  Ready could mean ready for DHL pick up, ready to be issued, and then once issued it will then show that along with the email. I do not have a sure answer as I have not gotten that far.  There are some others you should keep in touch with like MyMistaLovaLova, Ladyj and MaryJ.  I am communicating with them all on a regular even one personally through cell phone.  Just make sure you post on the forum for the country of Jamaica.  Someone will be able to answer you better.

  7. OMG I am getting stressed reading these posts.  I just don't get it.  Just don't understand the hold up.  Always told be patient, but the patience is wearing thin. We wait long enough to be with our husband and for it to drawn out even longer after the interview just for one item that they have total control over.  They need to go back to people being able to bring their medical in at the time of interview.  My husband is so down about this.  My daughter is upset cuz she wanted him here for her birthday next week, but can see it is not going to happen.  When I see one person get through I will see a little bit of hope:(

What the officer said we cannot make a decision without the medical.  If there was anything else the medical would not have made a difference

  9. Hello,

Going to be honest with you.  You can report it to the investigative unit, but they may only tell you, they just dont have the time to investigate every report they received.  I had called regarding my husband. i cancelled the greencard interview and had a restraining order against him.  I told them he was going to run off but they did nothing.  Sometime later they send a letter telling him he had to deport and also there is a warrant for his arrest for no show in court.  This man has lived in another state since 2004. Immigration still never did anything. I wish you luck but dont hold your breath

  10. Hello,

not sure if this will make a difference, but in the state of Massachusetts, marijuana is now legal with certain guidelines of course with the new voting recently done. Check and see if it has changed in your state at all. Also it is usually denied based on finding marijuana in the system not verbally.
