The invoice number you won't need at all.
When I tried to “assign an agent” online it asked for Invoice ID, which I didn’t get when I called to get my NVC case number.

No no no that is the correct form! You just have to explain why and what you want in the big empty box!!!! Ask NVC is correct. Just update your email in the box and tell them what and why you are sending the request.
Ah gotcha, okay thank you. I was reading the #1 paragraph in the pdf as something that is like a way to specifically submit an email, especially since the actual Travel.state.gov site instructions also say to submit an email address in similar wording. The “ask a question” was throwing me off. Thank you for the clarification, appreciated!

Were you able to do this and send the mail?
How did you resolve?
Hi, no I haven’t been able to figure it out, the link in the pdf sends you to the wrong form... like to ask a question to the NVC, nothing about submitting an email or anything. I tried searching the site in general but didn’t find anything, I thought I’d just have to call next week.

Has anyone received proper communication from USCIS, rather than checking their case number and seeing it has been approved? I'm curious to see how long it will take to received that letter or text message...
We did! The website status changed on Thursday 12/6, our paperwork came on Monday the 9th and approval was actually dated 12/4.

Welcome I know that you are excited, having just received your K-1 NOA2!!! This thread was created for those of you who are waiting for their NOA2 K-1, case assignment from NVC and then onward to your Embassy. The .pdf contained in the link below was meticulously authored by our beloved @Greenbaum and contains many tips, tricks and hacks to help you along the way in what steps you might chose to take along the way.
These are items and or questions that are what most everyone will ask, please make sure you give it a look over as it will save you time and worry. Again welcome to the thread and congratulations on receipt of your NOA2!!!!
Hello,
Thank you so much for sharing this information.
I have a few quick questions.
First is about emailing the NVC to update your email address referenced in the pdf above. The link in the document attached brings you to a form to "Ask the NVC a Question" and there is no field for the beneficiaries email address. Is the "question" asking to update email address? Or to ask for a case number? How soon should this be done after the NOA2 is received?
Secondly, do you know how soon interviews can be scheduled at the UK Embassy? Is it after the case number is assigned or does the Embassy let you know when they are ready for you to schedule?
Thank you in advance!

Calling USCIS: You'll need your receipt number, DOB for both of you and full names. Beneficiary or the petitioner can call.
1 (800) 375-5283 8:00 am
Option 1:
Call USCIS. Do not press anything. Do not choose a language. If someone who picked up the phone cannot answer your question, ask them to transfer you to TIER 2.
Option 2:
Dial 1-866-953-7684
Option 3:
Call 1-800-375-5283
Press 1 to continue to English
Press 2 for case status
Press 1 if you know your receipt number
Press your receipt number 922(followed by your WAC#).
They will tell you to visit the website for the answer but press 3 or wait and you will be connected to a live agent.
Option 4:
Dial 1-800-375-5283 then press 1,2,2,4,2,1 then enter receipt number then press 1.
BTW this is information from the PDF on the first page of this thread.
Hey there,
So I called both numbers and went through all the options above (some of which no longer work - OPT 2 sends you to a telemarketer, OPT 4 has been updated to new numbers)
Eventually I reached an agent after finagling my way through the call options and then was sternly told not to call to check case status but to refer the the UCSIS website or "tools".
I mentioned that I have been keeping up with the processing time trends on VJ and my NOA2 was past what is currently trending and then was also told not to inquire again until after the 7 month mark...
If anyone else has had any luck over the phone I would love to hear your advice
Thank you in advance!

Old site (also the data source for all 'USCIS case tracker' apps): https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do
New : https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/ (you have to create an account and add your case # to it)
Neither is more reliable (and it's very possible you won't see anything on either, and will have to just wait for the physical mail). For a while it looked like they were phasing out the "old" site, but that trend seems to have reversed itself and there are still lots of cases that show up on only one (or much earlier on one than the other).
We can't opine on which is more accurate. Your mileage may vary.
Thank you, I really appreciate the help!

One is old and the other was supposed to be the new one but both seem to work and sometimes neither. Can't put to much faith in either. By the way, there is always someone similar or someone who has experienced the same. That will always be answered with a yes.
So is the eGov Link above the new or the old?

thanks! I checked here: https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do
and then it also updated on the app too.
Hi,
What is the difference in "old" versus "new" websites that people are referring to?
We received our NOA1 on 8/14 and not a peep since - the link above just still says "received".
Anyone similar?
