  1. I had my interview yesterday and everything went well enough. The officer couldn’t give me an update on the spot but we had a brief conversation about the quality/quantity of evidence and he said I did a good job and he just needed to check a couple things. Of course I’m still pretty panicky and anxious to find out the final result! But I feel some relief. : (

All in all, a good experience. He was professional and understanding. Being very open and forthcoming in my answers helped. I didn’t want to use him as a therapist of course so I didn’t go into every single detail, but I was very sincere with my history and where I think I went wrong and where my ex most definitely went wrong. I tried to paint the full picture of our marriage and divorce to frame the evidence I submitted.

I did not have many picture and no joint health insurance but I included:

    - joint tax filing

    - joint lease agreements

    - joint bank statements (and my own personal bank account)

    - joint car insurance

    - joint vision/life/home insurance

    - text messages, social media posts, letters

    - affidavits of friends and colleagues

I wouldn’t say I had a clear cut case because we were a young couple btw.

Good luck and blessings to everyone! I’m praying every day for the final approval online.

I went through divorce waiver with no issue. No RFE, no interview. Submitted my ROC package in November 2018, fingerprint in July 2019, approved in October 2019. One hiccup was I never received my extension letter. I traveled abroad in April 2019, and had to get a passport stamp.

I included all bank statements that were not submitted during my AOS application, 2 years of joint tax return, joint house deed, joint car title and insurance, joint home insurance, documents showing each other as beneficiary on investment/401k/IRA accounts and a very detailed personal letter walking through our relationship from when we started dating to the divorce, with the focus more on explaining why we divorced. I didn't include any pictures or affidavits. My package was about 4-5 inch thick.

I think I'm lucky since my process was only 11 months, but being well prepared probably helped my case a lot.

I sent a fairly robust package too. I had everything you listed except we rented and had no investments together since we were a very young couple. I’m bring a few more bank statements with me to the interview and a few more odds and ends. The whole process of being selected for these can be pretty random huh!!

    Hi!

I hope your interview goes great and you pass with flying colors!! Don't worry, God is with you!

I am a Nov 2018 SRC joint filer, got 2 RFE's, one for additional evidence, sent a 7 lb package to them and changed to waiver at the same time, and another RFE asking for the divorce decree, smack in the middle of COVID lockdown. My court process wasn't over due to covid delays and non-cooperation from spouse, so had to send the RFE response with the divorce petition and explaining court delays due to COVID. Later they moved from SRC to National Benefits Center, then changed status to ready to schedule interview, still waiting on that. While waiting, court process completed, and sent in my divorce decree as response to the 2nd RFE again, they receieved that response is the latest update from them. Been 28 months since filing, totally out of the processing time for SRC filers. Have contacted my congressperson, they sent in request to USCIS on my behalf, but haven't heard back as well.

Thank you for the kind words! They are much appreciated. I pray that you also receive your interview date soon. This waiting game is stressful. We are basically close to N-400 eligibility with how long the I-751 took which is wild. Also I contacted my congressman and they sent off a request months ago but warned me USCIS hasn’t been responding. Maybe they will now with the new admin!

  4. I’m starting this thread to include my experience in this process, plus maybe gather some other experiences in one place and create a helpful resource for other divorce waiver applicants in the future.

My i-751 divorce waiver interview is in a few days. I’ll add my story when that is done.

For people who have been in my shoes, what was your waiver interview like? I didn’t even have RFE before I got an interview so I’m scared. Add your timeline and any details you’re comfortable sharing (office you interviewed at, difficulties faced, etc).

I’m a July 2018 SRC waiver applicant coming from a rocky 2 year marriage. I didn’t receive RFE. My original interview was cancelled due to the COVID lockdown. I only just got a new date.

    Hello everyone,

I don't mean to bring negative vibes here, but I don't want to feel alone in this process. I filed my I751 (Waiver) on Feb/28/2020 In Texas. Are there people from Feb 2019 still waiting?

My case was showing transferred to local office since Jan/17/2020 until before yesterday, where transferred to local office changed back to case was received. What in the world is happening. and where is my case. I got a hold of USCIS rep yesterday. She said my case is still in Texas. and basically didn't give me anymore info more than what's online. Also, yesterday I have submitted an E-request.

Where do I stand in this process? and is this normal, given the fact that I submitted tons of docs and used what he called himself an experienced lawyer as well as submitted a letter from my EX and family to support my case.

I apologize for the lengthy post!

    Hello!

I’m and Aug 2018 waiver filer also waiting for my interview. I had it scheduled for March, got a COVID cancellation and I have not been rescheduled.

I have seen only one I-751 ONLY person getting an interview and it was not a waiver.

I don’t think they are scheduling our particular category at the moment although I have no concrete proof or info to share that confirms that “hunch.”

I’ve seen N-400 combos and adjustment of status peeps but no conditions waivers.

Can anyone please prove me wrong??? The wait is so annoying

  6. 2018 friends, I’m still waiting as well.

My March interview was canceled and I haven’t heard anything since. My case status is “ready to be scheduled for an interview.”

I’m just sitting patiently waiting because between COVID and the upcoming furloughs, I don’t think even they have the ability to give us a proper estimate on when or how things are being processed.

Please hang in there! Be strong! We’ll get through this.

My interview was cancelled 8 days ago without even being scheduled. No notice from USCIS and no approval.

I only see cases in LA being cancelled.

Each field office might be handling things differently. Some call applicants, others send cancellation notices...

My case simply went to “Ready to Schedule an Interview,” for example.

    No other communication, though.

I’m tempted to just show up on my previous interview day and see is someone inside the office will take pity on me LOL

  8. Figured I'd start a thread to keep up with everyone who had interviews or biometric appointments cancelled due to the COVID-19 shutdown.

I'm curious how they will reschedule us. If interviews are scheduled 1 month in advance, then April is in theory fully booked. So, if they resume operations sometime in April, will March cancellations be scheduled for May? Just a thought.

Don't over think it! This is great news! You will be interviewed and get your GC soon!

    When is your interview scheduled?

Is your priority date 2018 August?

Did you submit your divorce decree with your original I-751 or send over separately?

Good luck and let us know how you do with your interview!!!

Same boat here Divorce Waiver I-75I Removal of Conditions.

I had Interview with out any RFE. So no worries. You will be fine.

Thank you so much for your kind words!!! I’ve panicking a bit. My interview will be soon and I will post an update.

I had already sent my final divorce decree and all in one go. I collected a few more docs to turn in on the day of just in case but they have all the BIG basics already (taxes, bank statement, etc) which is why I was so nervous.

I can’t wait for this to be over... and thank you again for the positivity. It actually helped me a lot tonight.

  10. Hi guys! Has anyone had the experience of being called straight to an interview without first receiving an RFE?

I'm a waiver filer and I'm a little nervous because they never requested extra docs through an RFE so I can't really know if there's stuff I'm missing until I'm at the interview and that makes me so uncomfortable. I have all the basic items they list as musts but who knows!

There are several reasons for this, workload balancing between offices. When you file the divorce waiver sometime they call for an interview. Did you receive the letter ? Did you get the status update in the USCIS webpage ?

It’s a NBC transfer for processing. Back in the day it meant an interview for sure, but that hasn’t been the case since last year when NBC began contributing to case backlog processing. So it’s a big question mark. Will keep everyone posted.

It is an interview appointment. My husband filled for divorce mid- October but I haven't even signed or send it in. Could it be that maybe?

Unlikely. I strongly recommend consulting a lawyer immediately, as this situation is very tricky. You need to switch to a waiver application and with a scheduled interview that's very tricky and out of the norm. Please go to a lawyer right away!

    Hi,

I am august 2018 filer and got a letter yesterday with an interview time scheduled in my local office. I did not revived any RFE and I sent many deviance. Has anyone been in this situation? Also it didn't even change on the website, it still shows fingerprint revived. I'm kinda freaking out ads if why this is happening. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

This may sound really dumb, but listen... reread the letter carefully. Are you certain it's not just your biometrics appointment? The letter paper folds right where it says "biometrics." A lot of people are getting biometrics appointments despite it being waiver earlier in the year.

Unless you filed for your n-400, it's very uncommon to get just an interview appointment like that, especially without website update.
