Hi all, I know it's a bit out of topic..
But I need someone to share me about their own experience about resign/quitting a job when you are the beneficiary of k1 visa. My question is : "When was the exact perfect moment to say goodbye to your job.. In what kind of stage (ex: before noa 2, after noa 2, after noa 1 ?)".
Because for me.. it is very hard for me as a secretary of directors to leave even just a day. But in k1 visa I have to leave work for medex and interview which gonna make me have to leave work for two days each. the embassy is in other city than mine. Plus I need 3 months notification prior the time I excatly quit working in my company.
Please give me suggestions. Any suggestions and experiences would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
let me ask you this....
will your job give you three month notice??? hell, they wouldnt even give you a 2 day notice.
screw em. if you despise it, quit. give them a few days notice or no more than a week.
make sure you can afford to be unemployed too.

i broke down and got a fax number and got my RFE faxed to me. it says the 2x2 passport photos I sent wasn't the right size even though I measured them. also they needed more information that we met. its stupis because I sent pictures with a sand castle of the date also plane tickets. then they said the itenaty was created before the date I went there. even though I sent the tickets of us being on the plane together.
So now I have to sent money to get new passport pictures and have them shipped to the US then take more pictures of my passport stamps and plane tickets.
it because the government is looking for BS reasons to deny applications and just keep our $535.
no matter how much proof you provide, they will still come up with a fake reason to deny your application. those who get approved are the lucky ones.... this is why everyone should frontload their application.
it's like playing russian roulette. some get lucky, some dont....
did you hear about a member on here who got RFE for sending the same exact "intent letter" everyone else have? they used the same form provided on this site and still got RFE.
the government is a joke.
do you know whats funny? they dont require pictures of you and your fiance together since they dont consider that as proof, but they require passport stamps... just because you flew to that country doesnt prove that you two were actually together, lol.... you could have seen someone else instead... like i said, the government is a joke.

I am doing the K1 visa, i already checked the box 4a, but what about item 5?
on the USCIS Example i-129f form provided on this site, it was left unchecked, but people on here are saying to check the "no" box.
so which one is it?
leave it unchecked, or check it?

Before i submit the i-129 form. I want to make sure everything is perfect. I dont have time to deal with RFE or some other BS from immigration. Im sure most of you guys have heard about a member on here who got an RFE just for sending the same "letter of intent to marry" thousands of people have sent.
Anyway, here are two pictures of my finance. i covered her face for privacy reasons. It is exactly 2x2 picture, but is the way the photo cut acceptable? You can still see the border on the cut out. Is this okay?
Thanks

Are hard copy 4x6 costco photos acceptable as proof of meeting in two years when i submit the i-129 form?
thanks
-
does someone have a copy or a website link to a better written Letter of Intent sample?
i dont want some under-trained USCIS employee to give me an RFE.
that employee just gave OP is massive headache and stress. we already have to deal with enough BS already.
i honestly think the people at USCIS are looking for the smallest things to reject applications. i wouldnt be surprised if they use an electron microscope to to examine the pictures and documents carefully...

My wife brought certified translations of her birth certificate and police certificate. The clerk provided these (for a fee) at the government office when she ordered them. I think about $25usd each to the clerk.
so it is 100% required to have birth certificate and police certificate translated?
thanks again!

i was told to post my thread in here since you guys can be more helpful
but here is the link to my original thread
we dont need anything translated when i submit the i-129 form in the mail.
but once we get NOA 2 and when my fiance gets her packet in the mail, does anything need to be translated? like her birth certificate, household registration book, ect.... My fiance lives in Vietnam. does she need to get her documents translated by a professional before she mails everything and before she attends the interview at the embassy?
thank you

Circumstances of meeting is not a "love" letter of your relationship. If your response doesn't fit in the space provided on the form, you should rethink your response
so i should include the terms of service to be part of that attachment?

For your own sake just do it. Some had RFEs others hadn't. Depends on the person who's reviewing your case.
Where do i include the attachment for terms of service? should it be an additional attachment on the i-129 form? or should i attach it to "how we met" letter?
-
I met my fiance on okcupid, a free dating site.
Do we have to prove that okcupid is not a marriage broker? Do you have to print out the terms of service?
I already check "not met on marriage broker" on the I-129 form. is that more than enough?
thanks

I agree.
Bro just include regular evidence. You together. Boarding passes. Flight Itineraries with one of your names on it. Passport stamps.
The holding the pass together or printing out a current article seems cheesy - so does the paper with the name on it. If you flew all the way to where she lives and you have a picture together and the stamps to prove it, it means a lot more.
I wouldn't put the ring receipt from before you met, personally.
thanks!!!
but i will include the engagement receipt because i do want to show that i did propose to her and bought her a ring. i will include a pic of us with her wearing the ring.

Not to be negative, but trying so hard can backfire.
Nowadays, long distance relationships happen all the time, and it is normal to take selfies when visiting, and when apart, chatting as much as you can. But it is very odd to take pictures thinking of them as evidence.
They want to see you are a normal couple, so send the evidence a normal couple has.
thank you. i will take normal photos then, lol.
-
also, we originally met on okcupid a dating site. we then later started chatting on Zalo (similar to whatsapp or line).
when we first started texting on Zalo, i told her to send me a pic of her holding a piece of paper with my name on it, including the date. we both did this. i wanted to make sure i wasnt being catfished. i want to include that chat log on the I-129 packet.

When the beneficiary comes from a high fraud country, people tend to include way more evidence that what is asked, to guarantee an approval.
USCIS or the embassy don't actually require chat logs at any stage, but as is the case with long distance relationships, chats are the only way to communicate most of the time, so they can serve as a secondary proof of an ongoing relationship after filing the petition.
In the case you decide to include them, a small sample is more than enough. You can choose 2 or 3 key dates and print just one page each.
Where is the beneficiary from?
HCMC Vietnam
We are both very young im 30 she is 27. we are madly in love. i even bought her an engagement ring BEFORE i met her in person. i still have the receipt of the ring. would this raise eyebrows that i bought a ring before i met her?
i also want to include pictures of us holding my boarding pass with the date, showing that we have met within 2 years. i will also print out a current news article from the NY Times and have both of us hold it in the picture. i want to do this to make our case even stronger and bulletproof.

That is just a nickname for social media with no legal value.
Chats can be proof of an ongoing relationship, which IS NOT required for the petition.
The evidence you MUST send with the I-129f are documents that prove meeting in person, such as passport stamps, flight tickets, hotel bookings with BOTH names, etc.
You can completely skip printing out chats.
will they want chat logs from day 1 when they interview my fiance at the US embassy?
-
from day 1 in our chat logs, only my nick name was used.
for example, if my full LEGAL name is Christopher Henderson, my nickname is CJ
i have never used my nick names on legal documents like passports or driver license..
that being said, will this raise eyebrows? do i have to write CJ on "other names used" on form i-129? i do plan on mentioning my nickname on the "how we met letter"
thanks for your help
