  1. Hi. My daughter who is petitioned by my US Citizen husband as step daughter was recently approved for IR2 visa and were now at NVC processing. My question is can my mother (her legal guardian) in the Philippines can accompany her going here in the US as tourist? Applying my mother for a tourist visa is a good idea? I cant go to the Philippines since Im working. Thank you for the answers.

  2. Hi VJ team,

Asking for a friend hope you can help me with this. My aunt petition her son under F2b 10 years ago and already have the welcome letter from NVC today. However she dont have work and her other son is willing to be her joint sponsor. question is does she still has to fill out affidavit of support or only the joint sponsor? she hasn’t been working for a long time thus no source of income. Thank you so much for the answers.

My interview in is a week, I'm excited and anxious here.
I'm married to my spouse almost 3 years now, he's a Air Force service member. We got ordered to Little Rock AR so it has been very stressful with finding a new home, moving and getting everything I need for the interview.

    So far I have gathered,
    - Our new home lease.
    - Joint Bank accounts.
    - Joint Credit cards.
    - Car insurance.
    - Health insurance.
    - Phone account.

Our pictures with friends and family, our tickets traveled to see his family and see each other when he's out training.

Is there anything else I should prepare for my interview? What should I wear?
    TIA

I think all those should be fine. Our officer asked for my original birth certificate but my mistake that I forgot all my original documents but still she accepted the photocopy. We wore business casual like we are going for a job interview.

That's scary. Glad they didn't bother you much at the airport. How did your interview go?

Our interview is in SJ office on Feb 14 at 715am. We were there by 630am and they let us in at 7am. It’s pretty fast maybe because we’re early. We were called at exactly 715am. We were just asked about our future plans and the Y/N questions in the AOS. Asked for my birth certificate original, bank joint account and rental lease agreement. The interview just took 20mins. The officer said we just have to wait 1-2 weeks. But after 5 days the status changed to New Card is being produced. My green card is expected to arrive tomorrow.

  5. Just to share we had our interview last Feb 14 but due to emergency I have to go back to my country 2 days after.  After a week, I used my EAD combo card going back to US, SFO airport. I just showed my EAD to the immigration, they took my picture and biometrics and escorted me to Detention office. I have to wait 30 minutes but after that they just gave me back my passport and EAD no questions asked.

We had our marriage interview too at San Jose Field office last Feb 14, the officer said it will take 1-2 weeks for the updates. Status changed to Card was being produced after 5 days

    Is that correct?

I'm amazed. Do you have any idea how your case got processed so fast?

I thought the average wait time for AOS at California field offices right now is at least 1 year, yet you managed to do it in less than 6 months!

Yes that’s correct. We’re so glad of how our case processed. Maybe one of the reason is we didn’t have any RFE. And I’ve seen that a lot of SF filers case are moving faster now.
