I would be surprised if you could simply cancel through email given it could be anyone, even if using their supposed email on the application. I had to send a letter and it had to be notarized, as per the Greek embassy's instructions to me (re:K1 visa for an ex long ago), but that was like.. 12'ish years ago? I (the petitioner) also got a confirmation (in the mail) a few weeks later that the K1 was cancelled.

My thoughts exactly. I have not received anything and she sent the email sept 16. Thank you. Keeping our fingers crossed and if she is crossed examined she will need to be honest that she had a breakdown as our relationship is truly Bonafide and we have the proofs. Again thank you for your insight.

We have been together for 2 and 1/2 years. We know each mother very well but being unable to spend time together for 9 months coupled with her imagination is what caused her to think this, Illness to the point of going to the hospital and vomiting led her to write an email. I found that she many believe in numerology and astronomy. Couple that with these off the wall feelings like they would even know the time someone did something if they did. This was disapproved beyond a shadow of a doubt when I went to Ukraine this past week.

I wrote the embassy prior to me finding out about her email and they simply stated that they have not received our application yet and would notify me. The thing is that our application was approved by both USCIS and NVC back in March 2020 but the Covid thing happened and they could not mail it out due to what I was told was state department mandate to hold off on sending applications to the embassies.

My case says it’s ready nothing on it to suggest anything has been done or rejected by the embassy. Has a case updated as of today the 13th but does not say what was updated. Anyone have any idea on how to check this? What update was done today since it has today’s date?

Have you tried talking to the person first ?

The embassy? Not yet. I sent them an email back in September and they responded that they would let me know when they receive the application. That email was a week after her email

I really hope everything works out for you two in the end.

Here are some things that you should consider talking about between you:

    • Immigration is a long haul - it won't be done after the interview, there is going to be more paperwork, interviews, etc. here as you do the Adjustment of Status (you are a K1, right?), Removal of Conditions, etc.  So, she needs to be aware of that and think about whether or not she will be able to handle it.
    • If she is heavily affected by her anxiety, energy, (whatever she believes in), she needs to get assistance with managing all of that.  She has the right to believe in anything she wants, but it should not affect her to the point of being hospitalized or making rash decisions under that state.
    • While being together does help, she will be affected by coming into a new country, culture, being away from family and the known, etc.  You won't be able to "fix it all" because you cannot be "all things" to make her happy.  And that's OK.  But, if you talk about it now and think about it, it will help in keeping things smoother when she is here.
    • As others have said, it is a red flag that she went the route of writing the e-mail.  So, maybe there are some underlying fears (besides immigration and being apart) that led her to that.  Whether she was affected by energy, etc., that's besides the point (I am being respectful).  You two should talk and just be honest with one another.

We definitely know the arduous process we have been in it since last September.

If her anxiety is causing her to become physically sick enough to go to the hospital, send aberrant messages about your petition/relationship and have "off the wall feelings", she needs professional help.

Her anxiety was caused by her beliefs that I did to the point that she wouldn’t believe me or talk to me. So for her it was a breakup and that’s what sent her to the hospital followed by professional help. It wasn’t until I went there in person last week that it got resolved. Why I could be defending her I do see reason for being sick for 3 weeks. The relationship is a legit relationship. I would say it would have been similar to the sentiments of a divorce.  People have terrible depressions and anxiety. So the question is would they embassy have truly accepted her request by an email since it seems everything thus far has to be well documented, I.e wet signatures stamps motorized etc

Did the approved petition make it to the embassy?  Generally, withdrawing a petition or visa application is irreversible, and you would need to start over with a new petition.  What does the CEAC status say?

Do you think maybe it would be better to spend some more time together in person, to confirm that you both actually want to marry each other?  It's easy to dismiss her actions as 'nerves,' but clearly there is something amiss.

  6. Has anyone ever heard of the fiancé at the last minute wigging out due to the corona virus and the time apart it caused send an email to the embassy saying she thinks her partner was unfaithful and is no longer interested in continuing the process? But then she regrets sending it because she saw it was just nerves and time apart? Doesn’t the embassy actually require a wet signature and not an email? I have not heard from the embassy about her email. Our K1 was approved through USCIS and NVC in March. We are waiting for them to send us the letter telling us that they have our application. What do I do if she we both want to continue the process? Do I have to do a new K1? Will I need to do a CR1 instead because of what she did?

  7. has anyone seen the news yesterday that trump is going to expand on the immigration ban... (it will also get extended),which means that the embassies will also make up their own decision on k1 visas even though the ban does not include k1. i am going to request an update from Ukraine on the k1 and if i get told about the EO by trump i will forward them the EO and specifically show them that the k1 is not on the ban. they go to the IG for the embassies because i truly believe the issue is that the k1 is a non immigrant visa but once they marry it goes to a immigrant visa. this being the case is where the problem is and i think we all need to push back because this is ridiculous!! his wife is not american and denying us what they were provided is unconstitutional!! we are going about it the legal way and are getting punished!!

I have answered those questions in a previous post located here

She does need a PC from her country/local. My answer doesn't change for translation that was posted in the above link.

Check here for details on the PC.

    https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Visa-Reciprocity-and-Civil-Documents-by-Country/Ukraine.html

it does not state that it needs to be translated or how long it is effective, do you know effective (duration it is good for)?

You are required to submit a police report (PC) for any country that you have lived in for more than six months since the age of 16 AND you are to submit local PC's for the interview. I can't answer your question without you answering mine; which PC are you asking about local or from another country?

PC is not required for AOS after marriage.

Ukraine she has not lived anywhere else. the report for the embassy interview in Ukraine does it need to be translated and stamped from someone that can certify the language to English is indeed correct translation or will it be fine in the native language of the country (Ukraine) that the interview will take place? thank you for the AOS information.

Which police report. Local or another country or both?

11.3 Foreign Language Documents and Translations.

    (a) Document Translations.

All documents submitted in support of an application or petition must include complete translation into English. In addition, there must be a certification from the translator indicating that the translation is complete and accurate and attesting to his or her competence as a translator. See 8 CFR 103.2(b)(3).

If you are proficient in English, you can do your own translation.

the police document for that the embassy requires when my finance goes for her interview. lastly i think this is the only time that she will need it correct? she will not need it once in the US for change of status or anything like that?

    thank you

A fiancé visa must be issued within four months from the date of approval of the fiancé petition by USCIS (U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services). If your appointment is later then the validity date, bring a signed and dated letter from your U.S. fiancé(e) stating that you both remain legally free to marry and that you intend to get married within 90 days of your arrival. E-mail or copies are acceptable.

    9 FAM 41.81 N6.2 Validity of a K-1 Petition

    (CT:VISA-2165; 08-21-2014)

An approved K-1 visa petition is valid for a period of four months from the date of USCIS action and may be revalidated by the consular officer any number of times for additional periods of four months from the date of revalidation, provided the officer concludes that the petitioner and the beneficiary remain legally free to marry and continue to intend to marry each other within 90 days after the beneficiary's admission into the United States.

so i just need to send her a letter stating this and have her go to the embassy prior to the date given by USCIS? i would hate to have to have this process started from scratch by them stating that we missed our window to request this extension after the July 15th date. thank you for your help much appreciated.

  12. Went to the embassy site for Ukraine and they are still not servicing K-1's or any visa. this perhaps is why i have not received the letter for my finance although on the site our file says ready ready but she also has not received the letter which is needed for the medical. does anyone know how and where to request an extension as my date from USCIS is in July for the interview to have been completed.

There is nothing in the P3 letter that says if a document expires or that it needs to have a "wet" signature. I would get an updated employment letter closer to the interview and the additional banks statements that are missing due to the waiting and email those to her. Nothing must be original from the petitioner.

Let's have some fun. Tomorrow use the DHL hack from the PDF and follow your case to your country. I just uploaded a new PDF So, hit the link from the first page first post. This is so, exciting to see all of you having cases "in transit" today.

question for you, i gave her my work letter and bank statement back when i was with her in January of this year since it had to be live ink, considering it was in January will the embassy require a new one that is closer to the date of the interview? i did not see any where that says how long a letter is good for, employment or bank. thank you in advance
