  1. Hello,

Does anybody have the template of the email that UStraveldoc sends when the passport is actually ready for pick up? I've received so many conflicting information on this and I'm trying to help my uncle decide if should fly out of state to pick up his Visa. I would just hate for him to fly out and have to stay in the hotel until the passport is ready. That will be very expensive. Ceac says issued, USTraveldoc says "Passport is Ready for Pickup" but when I call the hotline it says something to the effect of "Your documents are with the courier and will be delivered to the address you specified.." Likewise I receive the following email from UStraveldoc twice:

Your document(s) have been collected from the US Embassy/Consulate

The passport number being returned is XXXXXXXXXXX

You have chosen to have your documents delivered to the following location:

If you have any issues or concerns, please contact us at www.ustraveldocs.com/ng.

I don't think  that this is the actual email to pick up the passport. This is in Nigeria BTW. Thanks!

You go to ceac.state.gov enter immigrant. Enter his case number and the result will come up "issued" if it's has indeed been issued.  Then follow the instructions from the embassy to pickup.

Thanks for the prompt response! We have already done that on the Ceac website and it does say issued just like your case. But what I am concerned about is the email. I've read about cases that said "Issued" but the passport was not actually ready for pick up for day or weeks. Sorry to be annoying and #######, but did you receive any other email notification, other than the one you referenced "

We have gotten this email twice now but no SMS and my uncle is convinced that there should be another email and sms expressly telling him to pick up his Visa. "

    Thanks!!

Is the same email.. once the passport is delivered to the dhl pick up office picked by the applicant, the email will be send to the applicant, then receiver must go to the dhl office with pick up slip given at the embassy after approval and other means of identification for collection

Okay cool. I hope its the same email. Thanks.

  4. @user555 yes that is what I read. But I'm just wondering why the email does not expressly say something like, your passport is ready to be picked up...come with your government ID, appointment letter, etc....You know what I am. I'm just wondering if this is the email that others have received to notify them that their passport is ready. Thanks again for your response.

  5. My uncle is driving me nuts. I live in the US. My cousin filed for an IR-5 for him. He lives in Abuja. Went to Lagos for the interview and got approved. They told him his Visa will be ready in 10 days. He flew back to Lagos. We tracked the CEAC website and it went from Administrative Processing to Issued within 24 hours then he gets the following email:

Your document(s) have been collected from the US Embassy/Consulate

The passport number being returned is xxxxxx

You have chosen to have your documents delivered to the following location:

*I purposely didn't include the location. Any way I tracked his passport on the UStraveldoc site and it says "your passport is ready." So I've told him to fly back to Lagos to get it but he is hesitant because he said they will send both an email and a SMS text. He never got a text. And they have actually sent the aforementioned email twice so far!!! He is also hesitant because the aforementioned email does not expressly state "come and collect your passport."

So please to anyone that has gone thru this does the aforementioned email mean he can go pick up his passport? I also failed to mention that he doesn't want any of us contacting the consolate or traveldoc because he is PARANOID!!! What to do? I'm just afraid that they will send his passport back to the consulate after 10 days and that will create more issues!!

  6. Hello,

I'm quite lost so any help will be appreciated including moving this post to the appropriate forum. Thank you. So this is regarding an IR-5 Parent Visa case. My mother has an upcoming interview in Lagos (US green card) and I'm trying to follow the pre-interview guidelines. So I read that I have to create a profile on https://cgifederal.secure.force.com/ApplicantHome  before my mother Visa interviews and this is to ensure that  we are able to track how to retrieve the passport with the Visa once it is surrendered at the interview. So I create a profile but I don't know what to do b/c it appears that it wants me to schedule an interview and pay for the Visa???? This site appears to be for individuals who are trying to apply for a regular travel Visa. I don't know. Can anybody give their thoughts about this? I also read that it takes about 10 business days for your Visa to be ready once approved. Since my mom lives in Abuja, and will have to be flying into Lagos and staying at a hotel, it won't be feasible for her to just hang out in Lagos until day 10. Does anyone know if they give you to option to have the passport mailed to you and is this even safe to do in Nigeria. Is my mother to pay for the Visa at the consulate when she interviews or does that happen beforehand? I already paid a fee while I submitted the DS-260 and thought this covers the Visa. This is so confusing. Thanks in advance.

  7. Hello,

I just got my interview appointment for my mother. I am a US citizen and I have filed for her green card. I received the notice yesterday (07/11) and the interview date is 08/06. I have a question about the medical exam. Does anyone know if there is typically a wait list at the Abuja, Nigeria facility. Honestly it wouldn't make any sense for there to be a wait list since you can not schedule a medical appointment without the interview notice or am I missing something? Are people scheduling their medical exams before getting the interview date with the hope that they will have the interview letter by the time the appointment rolls along? And I read online that they would need immunization records. My mother is older so she doesn't have one. Any idea how she can get one quickly in the Abuja, Nigeria area. Thank you so much.
