Ela G. got a reaction from Chancy in I-751 March 2023 Filers
There is no entitlement. And you should know that the only ones getting priority are those living overseas because they obviously need to be on 100% legal status. But even then, mil spouses living overseas don’t even need to do ROC. They can expedite citizenship for them. For us mil spouses stateside, there is absolutely no priority whatsoever. But even if we did have any, it’s still a poor take on your end.

For those interested, this is a reddit thread by a former USCIS officer (apparently) it’s a fascinating read!
they basically go on to say that the reason the 751 is so slow is that it actually requires the most vetting of almost all applications. it’s a great read if you are interested.

I wish this was true… IOE receipt at Nebraska here as well… but this seems too good to be real!

Assuming these are true, it is a good step in the right direction. Can only hope 751 cases are being pushed at a faster rate now. There is little reason they need to hold them up if a) there are no fraud indicators and especially b) the applicant has already appeared for a 485 interview and had no problems with their case.
Fingers crossed!

I sent copies of our passports and my US spouse’s birth certificate just in case but it is not necessary at all! I just did it because 2 extra papers wouldn’t make a difference in our stack (which was already small enough anyway 😅)

It seems like most March filers are getting IOE case numbers as opposed to previous months! I wonder if this will speed things up as they are really trying to shift towards digitizing all cases.

I used the chat function! I spoke with a live agent and they were able to add the note and make sure I didn’t have any limits set

Which field office processes IOE code?
IOE is the code. As we know, the three letters before your receipt number usually indicate the office or service center where your case is being processed. In the case of the IOE code, I don’t actually know what that stands for or if it stands for anything, but, it means is that it was a digitally filed application.
So, you filed it digitally, or in some cases, forms like the I-485, USCIS will take the paper application that you sent and then scan it and digitize it and turn it into a digital file for adjudication. Those IOE forms mean that your case is being processed digitally, which is usually good news because those cases tend to flow through the system a bit faster.
You don’t have to wait for them to move your file around. And at the point at which the adjudicator is ready to approve your case, they can simply do that in the system, and it will send an automated message to the green card processing and printing facility to go ahead and print and ship your green card.
That’s one thing that the USA has really been trying to push forward with is this modernization and digitalization of their process. And, if you get this receipt number, that indicates that you’re one of the people who are part of that process.
