Hello,
I did some research and the response seems to be consistent but I want to ensure for my own piece of mind... I received my NOA1 a few days ago and it shows my (petitioner) name, middle initial and last name. In regards to my fiancé (beneficiary), it shows his first name and both last names but his middle name was omitted? Should I be concerned? I read that it's common and shouldn't worry?
Thank you!

When you get your paper NOA1 in the mail, there will be a 'received date' and a 'notice date' at the top. For VJ purposes, your NOA1 date is the 'notice date'.
Thank you!

Hi there,
I officially received the NOA1 text message yesterday evening and they provided the receipt number to the petition. I created an account and it stated the petition was received on July 10, 2019 and I should receive the NOA1 via regular mail. I'm assuming the official "NOA1" date is yesterday July 15, 2019 since that's when I received the notification? I want to update my timeline.
The waiting game starts. We are going to see each other in two weeks in Colombia for 11 days and hopefully with the planned trips, it will help pass the time and distract us from the physical time apart. This forum has truly helped me and I hope to continue to share our experience while we go through the lengthy process.

Ok, my fiance had her interview in Bogota today. The interview lasted 45 minutes and they asked a lot of questions about my family and its future, (I will elaborate later). But one thing that my fiance said is they demanded an authentic copy of my divorce decree! Not a copy but in my case, one signed, dated and sealed by the prothonotary office of my county. So today I went to the courthouse and obtained a court certified divorce decree. This is going to cost me about $75 to send to Bogota for the embassy. My fiance also told me there were 3 others there that they demanded the same from them and their visas were also delayed. So as of right now, we are in Process 221(g). But others should note that if you were married in the past, it looks like you will need a court certified copy for them to process the K-1 visa. I don't know if it is only the US Embassy in Bogota or if it is all of them. I think, (hope) this will only delay the process by a week. I will keep you posted.
This is where my fiancé will have his interview. I received my NOA1 yesterday via text. I've read that in Bogota they require all "original" documents and to have a copy as well. I don't have any previous marriages but I've read regarding original birth certificate from petitioner. Are you able to share how was your fiancé's interview otherwise? 45 minutes seems much longer than what I've read typically in Bogota?

Does not matter.
Pick one, you are overthinking it.
Unexpired Passport or
Passport Card with a 5 year validity
or
You need one item to establish YOUR citizenship/
OMG! I think my anxious won because you literally just cleared it for me. It threw me off when it said "with a 5 year validity" and not realizing it's a "passport card" and not the passport. You saying "unexpired" passport made me realize I was driving myself crazy here. I literally turned my house upside down looking for my original birth certificate which has delayed sending my packet out.
THANK YOU!! :-D

Only one form of citizenship proof is required - passport or birth certificate. Choose one to send.
Regarding your father, you only leave that part blank if your father’s name is completely unknown to you, is not on your birth certificate, etc. If his name is known, you must include it. Even if you’ve never met him. It’s not for us to decide which information is important to USCIS or not.
Hi there - I know you responded to this last month. I just want to ensure I don't receive an RFE. If I do send my passport, it doesn't matter that it will expire less than 5 years?
The instructions page states: A copy of your valid, unexpired U.S. passport or passport card issued with a validity period of at least five years;
This is throwing me off?
I have a really bad copy of my birth certificate and then I have another black and white copy of just the front of the birth certificate and not the back. Should I send passport and black/white birth certificate?
Thank you!!

Part 8 is for additional information. So let say you had additional addresses to include but their wasn't any more room for the number you had. Then you would add them to Part 8 as a continuation of the address section. If you do not have any additional information then you leave it blank and move on to complete the rest of the I-129f.
Thank you! I did have additional information I added. I will complete it.

Hello,
I'm getting ready to mail the 129F package tomorrow but I have one doubt in mind... On the last page, Part 8 for additional information, I added two part information but I didn't complete (see image) this portion? Should I complete this part as the petitioner? Thank you!

Do you know if Colombia is a high fraud country?
-
Perhaps I'm confused! Yikes! Thankfully I asked. It's the one part of the petition I'm not 100% clear. Do I need to write a one page letter of our relationship? On the form I had enough space to write when we met and the trips I've taken to visit my Fiancé, but I've seen everywhere people writing a one pager of the trips taken together?

Hello,
I'm thankfully almost done with assembling my I-129F petition packet but I do have a question as I've run into conflicting information... I want to ensure I understand it correct. Question 54 asks regarding if we've met within the last 2 years. I wrote the 7 sets of dates we've met the past year. I then wrote a one page declaration letter of "How we met" with a brief summary of the trips but then found online that I should write a question 54 supplement. I wrote it as follows. Does it look correct? Should I change the RE?
Question 54 Supplement
My address Address
Date
USCIS
Attn: I-129F
2501 South State Highway 121 Business
Suite 400
Lewisville, TX 75067
RE: Declaration of How We Met
I-129F, Petition for Alien Fiancé
Petitioner: My name
Relative: My fiancé name
Thoughts? Should the both of us sign or just me since it's written from me (petitioner)?
Thank you in advance!

Hello,
I want to start off by saying thank you and this site because I've been able to truly learn a lot about this process on this site.
I'm curious to know what to do with my fiancé (beneficiary) information regarding his passport. On page 7 of 13, it's asking for his passport information. I know it's not a requirement at this phase and he plans to get it in the next few weeks. My question is, should I leave that area blank since he doesn't have a passport? I don't want to leave it "blank" and make it look like we bypassed that section and didn't acknowledge.
Thoughts on this?
Thank you in advance. -

Click on NO on question 43, “Does your child reside with you?” and it gets unlocked.
I did several times. I clicked and un-clicked to see if it would unlock. I even refreshed the form. It just stays locked?

Hello,
I'm nearly done's with the I-129F form however my beneficiary's child has a different address and that section is locked. I'm unable to input information. Can I print the form and hand write it? Would it look off because it's handwritten? The form just won't allow us to enter only that section. It's very odd.
Thank you in advance.

Confirmation emails only show you booked a flight, not that you got on it.
The passport stamps are great, though.
Thank you! I will see if I took a screenshot of boarding passes but I doubt it. I'll utilize the stamps with each trip description.

As long as they can view them, it's fine. There's no right or wrong way to provide supporting documentation (other than forgery and such, obviously).
Just be aware that photographs are secondary evidence. Putting a verifiable date & location on a photo is nearly impossible. Primary evidence of meeting would be things like passport stamps, receipt, boarding passes, etc.
Thank you so much! Regarding "boarding passes"... with today's technology, I always had my boarding pass in the iPhone wallet app. Would confirmation emails from the airline with the passport stamps suffice?

Hello -
I'm gathering all the information for the 129F petition. My question is: Should I have the pictures sent to Walgreens with the explanation on the back or can I print them off Microsoft Word with the explanation next to it? I don't want to receive an RFE regarding pictures if they're not printed correctly.
Thank you in advance!

Hello,
I've been reading the forum for the past two weeks and I'm thankful I ran into this site for guidance on the K1 Visa. I want to ask a few preliminary questions.
-
i129F Form:
- For employment end date ~ We are both currently working at our jobs. Do we leave that blank? Do I handwrite "present" as it won't allow me to write anything but numbers?
- Parent's information ~ My father was never in my life. Will placing "NA" in that section suffice?
- States you've resided since 18th birthday ~ I lived in Connecticut while I was away in college. Do I add that as an address? If so, the form only allows me two states. Thoughts on how I should complete that?
-
I've been reading conflicting responses regarding proof of citizenship:
- I have my passport and will expire in 2022 and I read that if the passport isn't valid for a minimum of 5 years that I must include my birth certificate as well. Will my passport suffice? Do I need to provide both U.S. birth certificate AND passport?
Thank you all for your help and guidance. I will continue doing research and I'm sure I have more questions.
