Way more than enough for London
I hope you're right!

Hello! I think this might be my last question, at least for a while.
I have arranged my medical and interview and now I'm just in the final process of gathering all the documents I need to take with me. I already have a completed i-134 form, which my fiancee completed while I was over in the US last week.
The evidence we have is as follows:
- employment letter on company stationary that states her start date, position, that its full-time and her salary. Her salary is a decent bit over the 125% poverty guidelines.
- signed print outs from her bank showing deposits for the past year in her checking and savings accounts. These have been signed and dated by the bank manager.
- two pay stubs
- signed statement showing the dates opened and balances of her accounts, checking shows almost $3k and savings shows almost $10k
- completed I-134
- I also have her tax return folder for 2018 but it doesn't show that much as she has been working abroad for the last three years, unto the begging of 2019. So I don't expect that I'll need to show it.
Does this seem as though it would be enough evidence for a K1 visa interview at the London embassy?
I have the feeling that it would be but I'm just triple checking.
Thank you!

Very much like the one in the petition but with a newer date. Don't forget to also say "intend to be married within 90 days of Adam's arrival on a K1".
Yes, very easy and such a non-issue that sometimes they don't even ask to see it.
Cheers mate, you've been a big help once again!

Not for London. Read the Instructions to K1s they provide on their website. On the page for required documents https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee-2/required-documents/ you will find this in the list.
If your petition expires before the visa interview takes place, you are required to bring to your interview a signed letter from your petitioner confirming that you both remain legally free to marry and that you will marry within 90 days of your arrival in the United States. That's it! Nothing else to do but get a new letter from USCSo I just need to get my fiancee to write and sign a new letter confirming that we are both legally free to marry? Thats not too difficult!

Your fine, consulate can and will extend the validity period
I guess I need to contact the consulate to confirm. Thanks for your help!

Hello again! I know this might be, and probably is, a stupid question. But I thought I'd ask anyway.
I have just scheduled my K1 visa interview for 18th October 2019 and while looking through all the paperwork we have I noticed the expiry date on our I-797 is 17th October 2019.
Now, do I have to reschedule my interview to a date before the expiry of the i-797 or doesn't it matter?
Once again I apologise if this is a stupid question but it can't hurt to get some confirmation.
Cheers!

Forgot to say...the instruction steps on the website changed recently and are messed up and out of order. Webmaster blunder I would guess. My order I posted to you is more like what it used to say.
Cheers mate! I remember that you have commented on a few of my posts and you have been very helpful on all of them. Hopefully I can get you a beer one day in the future to say thanks!

You can start now. Letter isn't necessary.
I would suggest this order of doing business:
- Submit DS-160.
- Gather documents. (for interview as well as documents for medical appointment). You don't want a looming appointment if you hit a hiccup and won't have what you need for the appointment.
- Book your medical date by calling the clinic. 020 7486 7822.
- Book the courier, pay, and pick an interview date all at the same time on https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-gb/iv. Select “I have received a letter from the consular section with instructions to register or schedule a K visa appointment”. Leave 10-14 days between medical and interview for best results.
- Attend your medical.
- Attend your interview.
Gather documents step is important. See lists:
https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee-2/required-documents/
http://www.visamedicals.co.uk/us-bring.htm
And do read all the information and FAQs on the embassy website instructions. https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee-2/applying-for-the-visa/
Thank you so much! This is an amazing cheat sheet of what to do!
So, I don't need to wait for the letter before I start doing any of these steps? That is good to know and I'll get on with it tomorrow!
Thanks again you've been a great help!

Hello! This might be a stupid question, I think it actually is... But I just want to confirm something with people who are in the know.
So I'm currently waiting for my appointment/confirmation letter from the US embassy in London about arranging my interview. Should I wait for it to arrive before filling in the DS-160? Or can I get on with it while I wait?
Thanks! And I'm sorry if this is a stupid question!

Had an email this morning to say my visa was dispatched - CEAC updated yesterday to say it was issued - so looks like my planned departure on 13th November will be happening 🙃.
First congratulations of having your visa approved! I'm at the stage where I'm waiting for the appointment letter from the embassy in London as it says that it's ready for interview on the ceac website. Hopefully I'll get that in the next week or so.
When did you fill in your DS-160? Did you wait until you had the letter and interview confirmation before completing it? Or did you do it as soon as you got your case number?
Also thanks for confirming that the interviewer is nice and not trying to catch you out. Although I'm still likely to be nervous!
Congratulations again!

That document is very old and hasn't been updated with the new address, I received the same notification when the NVC mailed mine out to the London Embassy.
It's all good
I thought as much! Just wanted to make sure! Thanks!

The UK community on VJ says the employer letter alone will do for London. The bank stuff is superfluous since her salary well exceeeds 100% of the poverty level. She doesn't need to list her assets since she has the salary. They don't even require a tax return from a K1 in London. If you want 2 proofs of her income, then add the payslips, but London has approved many on only an employer letter. There's a UK FORUM on here that can help with London specifics. https://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/99-united-kingdom/
Thank you! i'll get a couple of payslips as well with everything else too but this is good to hear!

Hello.
I've got a quick question regarding the address of the US embassy in London. On September 3rd me and my fiancee received an email from the NVC saying that they have forwarded our case to the US embassy in London. At first we were very excited, it's moved on we thought, until I noticed the address on the PDF document attached to the email stating the address of the US embassy in London. The address stated on the PDF is 24 Grosvenor Square, London, W1a 1ae, United Kingdom which is the old address. Now does this mean that our case has been posted to the wrong place? Have the NVC screwed up? And if it has been sent to the wrong place what are our options?
Thanks!

Oh I see, then I would include couple of paystubs just in case. I would assume her income will be over the poverty limit this year right?
Yeah, her income is well over the 125% poverty guidelines for a household size of two. And she has over $18k in savings and assets without any debts. I'll ask her to send over some payslips/paystubs too. Thank you!

You should include most recent 2018 IRS Transcript.
I forgot to mention that I also have her 2018 income tax return folder. But she was working/living in Japan so what she paid in income tax last year in the US wasn't over $20K.

Hello!
Me fiancee has put together our affidavit of support for the K1 visa. I'm just wondering if the evidence that she has included is sufficient.
The evidence she has included is:
- A letter from her employer stating her salary, date she started, position held, and that its a full-time post. This letter is on company stationary and signed by a member of HR.
- A signed letter from Wells Fargo, her bank, stating the amount in her savings and checking accounts and the date that both of them were opened.
- A statement from Wells Fargo, that has been stamped and signed by the branch manager, stating all deposits in both saving and checking accounts over the past 12 months.
Does this community feel this is enough? Or should we include payslips too?
Thank you!

We've been calling the NVC every week. And this week we found out that it had only been posted last week. I'm just wondering how long it would take for it to arrive at the NVC and how long it would be until we can move on to the next step.

Hello!
A couple of weeks ago I posted about our K1 visa petition being approved on 21st June 2019 and still not having heard anything from the NVC to date.
Well, we are still waiting for the NVC to receive our approved petition from USCIS. This is because USCIS only sent the approved petition to the NVC on 5th August, over six weeks after approving it.
Is this kind of thing usual? I mean are USCIS always this slow on posting out approved petitions? And should me and my fiancee expect another long wait until we hear anything from the NVC?
I know all cases are different so I'm not expecting anything concrete just some rough ideas!
Also we only know that USCIS sent the petition on the 5th because my fiancee, who is the petitioner, spent almost two hours on the phone to USCIS and the NVC yesterday. As everyone is aware getting through the phone system to be able to speak to a human is hard!
Cheers!

@Adam.T I know it sucks to be waiting while you don't know how long the wait's gonna take. It's been more than 6 weeks for you, give them the 8.
I hope they'll have good new for you soon
I will! And thanks for allowing me the space to vent my frustrations a little!

Hi!
My NOA2 was 21st June and the NVC received my case on 24th July. I kept calling the NVC daily after 19th July and until 24th their answer was it "could take up to 8 weeks for them to receive the petition".
Hang in there!
Hi!
I'm hanging in there although it seems as though it is taking forever! Our NOA2 is dated 20th June 2019 and still nothing from the NVC... As mentioned my fiancee called them today and they still haven't got it... I guess we just keep on waiting then!
Thank you for your response!

HAVE YOU TRIED TO CALL TODAY?
Yeah, my fiancée called today got told that they still haven't got it.

Hello!
I wrote a topic a couple of weeks ago about getting in contact with the NVC about an approved case after a period of four weeks.
To date it has been over six weeks since USCIS sent our approved K1 petition to the NVC and they still haven't received it and therefore do not have our case on their systems.
The first time we called to ask if if the NVC had received the petition we were told that its taking about six weeks for them to get the petition from USCIS. Now it has been over six weeks and still nothing. My fiancee has been given an email address to ask about the status of our case so maybe we will get some answers sometime soon.
How many of you have had to wait over six weeks for your case to be received by the NVC after being approved by USCIS? And how long was it from approval to receipt by the NVC?
Thank you!
Medical questionnaire
in United Kingdom
Posted
I've already posted this elsewhere but I was told to post it here too.
I'm starting to stress myself out about the medical questionnaire.
Question five asks if you have ever taken drugs. If the applicant has but a long time ago and not for a sustained period of time, would the answer to this would have to be yes, right?
Now I've read a few posts that say if you answer yes to this question you have to do a drug test and you may get banned for a year.
Does anyone know what the procedures are? Would the drug test would be taken on the same day or would it be at a later date? And what are the chances of the whole case being thrown out?
Cheers.
