thank you!
one more questions:
They stapled our previous package materials in categories, such as several k1 stage I-797 together, visa pages together, passport pages, I-94, our income page, IRS transcript, etc, they all have stamp numbers.
Can we unstapled the pages and reuse the evidence?
I sended the same papers just the new i485 and i944(because I forgot the i944 and the i485 it was the old one)
They took the money so it wasn't a problem

Hi, our initial AoS was rejected because of using outdate I-485 forms, now we have filed with the new I-485 forms , along with the newly required I-944, updated I-864 forms downloaded from USCIS website.
My questions:
When I resubmit the updated AoS package, should we include the previously rejected AoS paperwork? USCIS has stamped on most of the forms and evidence at the bottom of pages, and attached and stapled several I-797c notices on the paperworks.
If I only submit new AoS package, should I include all the I-797c notices or just the one stapled on the front of rejected I-485 form?
We send the rejection papers!
I think on the green paper they were saying to put that paper fist on your application.
Good luck!

To clarify, you would be out of status from the moment the I-94 expires onward. Filing for AOS does not grant legal status - it grants a period of authorized stay.
Unlawful presence accrues when you are not authorized to stay - meaning no legal status and no period of authorized stay.
The words in bold above have distinct and important meanings.
It's 90 days from entry on the visa.
The visa becomes useless at first use as it is single-entry. The 90 days of legal status begins at that point.
I highly suggest applying shortly after entry (it used to need ~2 weeks to get in the system, but it should be nearly instant now...but I still suggest waiting at least 24 hours).
That said..
An SSN is not required for AOS. You only need to provide it if you have one.
An SSN is not needed for medical insurance. If they state otherwise, take it up the chain...the ACA prohibits requiring an SSN (only listing it if you do have one).
An SSN is not required to marry. There is at least 1 state that requires you to apply for one if you are eligible for one (otherwise they need a letter from the SSA showing that you are not eligible for an SSN).
An SSN may or may not be required for a state ID or driver's license...eligible for these items are set by the individual state.
You can apply for an SSN within the first 76 days from entry (90 days legal status - 14 days of status remaining required by the SSA = 76 days).
For medical insurance I needed the ssn I dont know why but they asked for it.my husband took me on his insurance. Probably that's why

My case is a bit weird. I used the old form i-495 but I did include the i-944 even though the old form doesn't mention it. I read on Visa Journey last minute before mailing mine that we need i-944 so I included it. They still rejected mine and my entire packet was returned in 10 days. On the USCIS website it said that they would reject packets with an outdated form. I had to refile everything; however, I found out about this 2 days after I mailed it and started working on the new forms immediately after that so I was able to mail everything back immediately after I got mine back. I would start filling and allocating evidence for the form i-944 now.
But what kind of documents did you provide with the form i944.i printed all my school diplomas. And I'm not sure if I should send again my husband tax returns bank statements and all that

I would download the I944 now and start collecting the required documents.
I would anticipate for your application to be rejected due to missing the form.
It is now a requirement to submit I944, so if you start getting it ready now, you will be prepared when you need to re-file.
I am so sorry to hear this has happened to you. Very frustrating
I hope I will receive just a rfe .
But can you explain what the hell I need for the form?

Your AOS paperwork will have the last name you filed under, if you used his last name when you filed that's the name your paperwork will be in including GC
Thank you!

After marriage it will be a problem if I'm changing the name ? I mean I want to take his last name .
And on my passport will be the name before marriage.
Plus all the papers will have the name before marriage or after it?

Now I dont know if that period is for people that applied the aos form there or is the process time for people who will have the interview in DC.
