Hi
So they asked for my DS160 and passport at the bit outside, then at the first window just my ds160.
Then I went upstairs, my number was called and they asked for the ds160, passport, birth cert (original), 1 photo, the i-134 stuff and my police cert. They asked me a few questions like where did we meet and what do I do as a job and what do i wanna do out there, when am i getting married. And I was given my xray envelope.
I then was asked to sit and wait again. The next woman gave me some paperwork back and then asked similar questions i guess to make sure they match the previous and then also asked when i was last there. She checked through some of the paperwork and then said it was all done.
I know no matter what you'll be nervous but it was relatively painless so you have nothing to worry about if your case is straight forward and legitThanks for the reply, glad to hear it was a painless experience. One more question, for the i134 stuff can you remember if they asked for the w2's? We have tax transcripts, pay stubs and employment verification letters for both sponsors but not all the w2's, thats my only real worry at this point

Hello, we are using a joint sponsor (my fiancees sister) just to be safe, as my fiance has only been at her current job since april.
Both earn over the minimum required, however the joint sponsor has been at her job for over a year and earns considerably more than the minimum and is therefore arguably a better sponsor.
I was wondering, when they ask for the i134 at the interview, should i hand them both over and say we are using a joint sponsor, or just hand my fiancees and see what they say, then if required, give the joint sponsors as well?

You ate, slept, went to school, washed your clothes, kept them in something besides a suitcase, went to the bank, etc. You lived there. Claim it.
Just realised i didnt mention in my original post that during those 9 months i came back to england for a few weeks over the christmas break. Do you think that means i didnt reside there for over 6months, as there was a break inbetween, even though i still had a dorm room with all my stuff still there?

There is a new form for I-134 to be filled out for K-1 visas.
In the previous version it asked if you intend to make any contributions and the sample on VJ said to put "N/A - Filing for K-1 Visa". However they have now changed it to a Yes or No box in the new version of the forms. I don't see any box where you would put this phrase. Any suggestions?
Hi, what did you end up doing in the end? Did you check the box for "i intend" then write "N/A k1 visa"?

A London K1 interview is often approved on any ONE of the three things you have planned so you can quit fretting about your I-134. I explained why/when a W2 is needed. What was not clear?
And as a courtesy, you should fill out your timeline. If the OP @jakedavies that you answered for is your fiance, then you can link timelines. I have answered a lot of your questions, but I'm done until you create a better profile with timeline. It helps give you the best answer.
Yes youve been a great help, ill be sure to add a timeline soon

What visa?
If you provide a printed copy of your tax return forms, then a W2 or 1099 wage statement makes it a "complete tax return" as is often the terminology used by immigration when stating evidence to provide with an affidavit of support. Blank tax forms are readily available for anybody to makeup a fake one. The employer wage statement (W2 or 1099) backs up the wages shown on the tax form.
Alternatively, one could get a tax return transcript free from the IRS. That is verified by the IRS, so is a stand alone proof without a W2 needed to back it up.
Apologies, this is for the k1 visa, so the most recent tax return transcript from the IRS on its own is enough for the i134 affidavit of support? (With employment letter and pay stubs) Meaning we wouldnt need w2s?
Id read some posts of people saying to take the tax transcripts as well as w2s however they were from years ago.

hello, when filling out the "length of stay" for the "have you ever been to the US?" question on the ds160, do you need to be exact?
you can only select day/week/month, meaning if i was there for 4 months and 20days (excluding the end date), i could choose either 4 months or 5 months, or the amount of days which is 141. Should i therefore choose the days options to be completely accurate or just go with months and choose whichever is closer i.e. 5 months?

You were not in the US via a visitor visa....You were living here, imo.....I would answer "Yes", you lived here.
It is considered an "exchange visitor visa" which makes things confusing.

hi all, so i studied in the US from august 10th 2015 up until may 27th 2016 on the student visa (j1 i think its called) . The question on the ds160 asks if i resided in any country for 6 months or longer. I thought i should answer yes as i was there for approx 9 months, however as it was always going to be a temporary stay (not exceeding the permitted time i was allowed to stay) i therefore always knew it wasnt permanent. should i still answer yes?

YES, that is the correct form. The original goes to the embassy with the rest of the medical results. It looks perfect to be clearedfor AOS without a trip to a Civil Surgeon.
You don't have waiver codes for the MMR lines because you got the shots. You aren't being excused from MMR. They didn't really need to mark that Td line, but Knightsbridge always does the code B for "insufficient time interval". Their logic is you only need one every 10 years, so enough time hasn't passed to give you another.
Edit to add. Those codes are the excuses for not having to get a shot. Most are baby shots so A- not age appropriate. F-not flu season. If you were allergic or pregnant you would get excused as not medically appropriate.
Thats good to hear, thanks for clarifying 😀

@yoda one for me has been reading and paying attention!
You will be given a photocopy of form DS-3025 with your vaccinations marked. You want that sheet to be marked in the results section that you have completed all requirements. Don't rush out the door. Take a seat and study it.
Tell them you had chickenpox so on the Varicella shot, they mark "Varicella History" which excuses you.
On the Influenza line, make sure the waiver column is marked with the code "F" for not flu season which excuses that shot.
Thanks for the info. Thats all fine but i have a couple questions.
Should it say form ds3025 on the form? And on the right side theres a few boxes left blank for "measles mumps and rubella" however they did check a box and add some dates. Is that okay?

Heading to the medical now- is there anything i need to make sure i dont leave there without?
Anything specific that i will need at a later point for the aos?

Hi all, my fiancee sent me all the paperwork/proof/ supporting documents for the i134 affidavit of support (including the i134 for our co sponsor).
As she and the co sponsor were gathering the documents since april, the most recent bank statement for my fiancee is dated from mid april, whilst my cosponsors is dated mid may. (We have 3 years of statements for each sponsor)
(Although my fiancee does earn enough, she had only been working at her current job a few months, so we used a cosponsor just to be safe- so the cosponsor is the main sponsor)
My question is, if my embassy interview is in august, will they look at the bank statements and say the most recent one is too old? - as its dated from april and may for my fiancee and co sponsor respectively?
Thanks

filling out the ds160 so ill have a few questions coming hoping for some clarification

Hi all,
I'm due to fly tomorrow after being granted my K1 visa back in May. For those starting the process I would thoroughly recommend banking with HSBC, as I've managed to set up my US account and have been granted a credit card based on my UK credit history which should make life a little easier when I arrive!
For those that might know - How do you go about filling in the landing card? Does anyone declare values or is there no need?
Thanks,
James
Hi, could you give more info regarding hsbc helping set an acc in US? How exactly does that work?
Thanks

So, I've got my interview scheduled for Monday and, predictably, I'm an anxious mess.
I've been through the required documents list on the London embassy website multiple times, and I just wanted to run through my checklist here so I've got a second (third, fourth...) pair of eyes on it:
- Passport
- Four US passport style photos
- Certified copy of my long form birth certificate (and photocopy)
- ACRO police report (and photocopy)
- I-134 with wet signature (and photocopy)
- Supporting evidence for I-134; petitioner's 2018 tax return (federal and state), two recent payslips; a letter from his bank confirming its balance and total deposits from the last year; letter from employer confirming wage and full time employment status
- Print out of payment/confirmation of embassy appointment and courier page
- Print out of DS-160 confirmation
I do also have copies of our I-129F, NOA2, receipt for my medical and evidence of our ongoing relationship, but from what I can tell, none of this is needed for London.
Have I missed anything from my list? Thanks so much.
Do you need to take a photocopy of the i134, birth certificate and police certificate?

"I have submitted a visa petition(s) to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services on behalf of the following persons. (If none, write “None” in the space for name below.)"
Are we supposed to write the name of the beneficiary of this AOS or is that a given, and they're asking about petitions filed on behalf of someone else?
And for #38, I don't even know. Aren't we technically going to be paying for the beneficiary until he/she gets a job??
Bureaucracy : /
Thanks in advance
Hi,. For part 3 question 38 did you end up selecting "i intend" and writing "N/A (FILING I-129F FOR MY FIANCE TO BEGIN K1 VISA PROCESS FOR PERMANENT RESIDENCE)" in the additional info section??
thanks
-
Hi all, ive seen a lot of varying suggestions on how to answer part 3 question 38 of the i134 affidavit of support so wanted to ask for your input.
Firstly, iv read that this question doesnt actually apply to k1 visa applicants however leaving it blank could be misinterpreted by the consulate officer as a "not answered" question. Should we check the "i intend" box and state the following in part 7 "additional info":
"NA (K1 visa process for permanent residence"??
Would love to hear any input regarding what to write, especially from someone that has recently had their interview at the london embassy and been approved.
Also, as im using a joint sponsor (my fiancees sister), should she write the exact same as what my fiancee writes on hers, for the question (part 3 38 and part 7 additional info)
Thanks all

Medical appointments were plentiful back in April when I went. They had a few within a few days notice. With the medical it’s better to get it over and done with ASAP so your results can be sent to and processed by embassy in time for your interview. You should follow up a couple of days after your medical to ensure that they have sent them.
Thats good to hear. And when you call is it easy to schedule? Do you have to pay anything over the phone?

Hi all,. Ill be booking my medical soon in london and was wondering what the wait time is?
Has anyone booked their medical recently and if so was there a long wait period for the next available slots?
Wondering if ill be waiting a week, two weeks etc
Thanks

It's right in your K1 instructions on the London embassy website.
If your petition expires before the visa interview takes place, you are required to bring to your interview a signed letter from your petitioner confirming that you both remain legally free to marry and that you will marry within 90 days of your arrival in the United States. Thanks, i dont know how i missed that, it doesnt have to be notarized does it?

Hi all, my noa2 expires august 4th. My fiancee (the petitioner) sent me all the documents i need for the interview which should arrive in two weeks.
I still havent done the medical or booked the interview. I wanted to wait to have the documents in hand before booking interview but im concerned about how close the expiry date is.
How do i extend the noa2 expiry date?
Thanks in advance
