During your visit, pay one to the consulate there as well but do an internet search for the congressman in your county in your state to find out who he/she is and solicit for their help in keeping the petition in nigeria then you can request for another interview with the consulate now with a letter from your dad who is currently in nigeria and make sure you take pictures of him and your fiance to show them. My dear I really don't know what to say but i did remember that one of the pictures they CO looked at when my husband went for his interview was the picture he took with my uncle, he said she kept asking him about the picture and the name of my uncle. I am so sorry to hear this, i was so looking forward to hearing good news this morning but all is not lost, you can always go back home, get married and file for a K3 if you can do that. Are you sure you've gone step-by-step through the "Assembling the I-485 Package: Checklist" section?

do I put my maiden name on the paperwork or my married name where necessary information about me is required? Thanks.

If name changed - you can use new married name on the forms where applicable.

It can sometimes help to print out the above link (step-by-step assembly guide) and complete each # one by one and check off each as you go.

Please do you know if my birth certificate should be included in the package also, i read somewhere that someone got an RFE for not including her USC's birth certificate and i have read the guides it says nothing about birth certificate. Thanks

Congratulations!!!!!!! there have been some smooth sailing interviews at the Lagos Consulate for a while now, hope the trend continues. Frontloading the petition is key, I did and was approved.

Just continue to pray and trust God, i know sometimes it's hard but God always comes through. All is well.

I also sent all the calling cards but i sent my cell phone bill statements as well highlighting his phone numbers on them. He has MTN and since i have Tmobile we send and receive text messages and that showed up on my phone statements as well. But just pray they will not check phone records and i know all will be fine.

They do not need phone records from him, they need from you and if his number shows up on your phone statements, highlight those numbers, they just want proof that you have been communicating with each other prior to filing and after filing. I printed out all my cell phone statements because that was where the numbers show and i highlighted his numbers on them, they didn't even check the phone records but it will be a good idea to have them in any case. So get your home phone, cell phone statements together and send them to him. The less people that knows he is going for an interview the better for both of you. Hope you understand?

No need to worry at all. Do what the consulate has asked and pick up the Visa on the 12th. Nov 11th is a federal holdiday (veterans day) so the consulate must observe it. Don't let anyone put fear into you. The Visa is already yours.
