So glad everyone is doing OK.

You are luckier than we are.  We are 7 months in and no word on the biometrics.  Haha

    That's upseting. I'm sorry.

I didn't go in. They just changed the status to what I think means they added my old biometrics to my case, that's it.

We filled at Phoenix. Not sure if we are sending to the same center or not.

Just checking in on the Argentina ROC filers that are still pending.

@Fla&Mark and @KBCN Didn't you apply?  Where are you at in the process?

    Hey everybody!

We're doing great! Life is busy with our (already) one year old, but we're very happy.

We've been in Argentina on December for six weeks. I could leave the country and re enter with my NOA for the extension of the green card with no problem at all.

This is my timeline so far. No updates since then:

October 5, 2022 Case Was Updated To Show Fingerprints Were Taken
September 23, 2022 Received your Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence.

    How's everybody else doing?

I have a question, I have a friend filling up her application for the ROC as well. She's married to a citizen and that's how she applied to residency. Her husband has a child from a prior marriage (he's a citizen, again not HER biological kid). Does she need to include the kid in the Part 7 of the form? Was anybody in that position?

    Thanks!

We have ours, just waiting on biometrics.

    What is your service center?

We received ours last week! So feeling much more at ease.

    Our service center is Phoenix.

Our case says that fingerprints were added to the petition.. does this mean that I won't have biometrics? or they can add the fingerprints and call you in for biometrics anyway?

    Thanks!

Did you include your marriage license?

I didn't. Basically, everything that I have already submitted, I did not submit again. Only "new" evidence.

    Here's my timeline so far:

    -Sent: Sept 20th

-Received notification that my case was received: Sept 27th

-Fingerprints added to my case: Oct 5th

Now I'm just waiting on the notification letter so I can use in December. @Fe.Ta did you receive your already?

  5. Hey everybody! Nice to see some updates here.

For our case, we mailed everything on Sept 20th. It reached the USCIS Phoenix office on the 23rd and I got the notice that our case was received today (27th).

Also we got our tickets to Argentina today, so we're visiting family in December! Happy but also kind of anxious about traveling with the letter (that of course, I haven't received yet)

    Evidence we included:

    • Bank Statements. Check and Savings. Just last month.
    • Life insurance and medical coverage
    • Our daughter's birth certificate
    • Mortgage evidence
    • Other loan evidence
    • Car lease (under both our names)
    • Pictures

I included a copy of my current green card (as requested) but I did not add any driver's license or passport or anything like that.

I will keep this thread posted with our timeline and updates.

    Thanks everybody!

Our window is opening! How are you coming along? How is the baby?

    Hello hello!

I'm starting working on my papers this week since the sooner I can file is September 18th (and I plan to do it the following day since 18th is a Sunday).

Baby Mara is doing great. She is four months already and she's a happy and healthy baby! Thanks for asking! It was a really good experience to have her here and we've been busy receiving relatives from Argentina that flew to meet her. We already applied for her passport because we're hoping we can go to Argentina on December. I was reading that once you send out the I-751 you can ask them for a letter that grants the extension of your conditional one for 24 months while they process your application. I hope that's no issue to travel back and forth.

How are you doing? Are you all done to send the papers out?

In terms of evidence, I'm just adding the "new stuff" like newer pictures, our mortgage (we bought a house) and a car together, our medical coverage and bank accounts still together and of course, baby Mara birth's certificate! haha I think she's enough "evidence" that we're together together! LOL we'll see!!

  7. Hello everybody!

Currently eight months pregnant over here but I will start preparing my papers to remove conditions to send on Sept 2022 (GC due on December 2022).

I will be starting my research and sharing in here all the process.

Thanks for creating the group and sticking together!

    Hope everyone is doing good!

  8. Hello everybody. I'm a US resident. I'm pregnant and my family wants to come over from Argentina to meet the kid. When they went to buy their flights they noticed that some family member's visa are expiring next year. They already submitted the application, but they got the interview scheduled for March 2023 (!!!!!!!) Anyway, I read over here that it's the regular timeline that we're looking at for tourist visas.

    My questions are:

1- Is the expiration date considered the last day they can stay here? I mean, if they want to enter the country one week before it expires and then it expire while they are over here. Would that be an issue? could they get denied to enter the country if that's the case?

2- I'm searching information about the situations that are considered to approve an expedited appointment but I don't think the birth of a grandkid would be considered one. Any advice on that?

3- Can the fact that they already applied for a new visa while they still have a couple of months on this one, make their entry complicated or denied? I wonder if being already in a "new process" can cause any trouble coming in.

    Thanks everybody!

  9. Hey everybody! Just regain access to my account. So happy to see so many good news here!

I have some news too... we're expecting a baby! my due date is March, so very excited for that. Everything else is good, we were able to buy a house (of course I needed some extra steps because of my credit score, I had to present translations and other documents from Argentina) but all is good. Work is great. The only thing that bothers me is that traveling has been complicated in and out Argentina and I wish we could visit more often.

I started reading about the process to remove the conditions in our green card, coming soon! I saw that they will not process it if you file it sooner than 3 months before? haha I was getting anxious..

Can we start a thread for that?

    Hope everybody is doing good!

  10. We had our interview today and we just received the notification that our card is being produced!!

The interview was very fast, a little over half an hour. They asked to check my birth certificate again. I think might be a misundrestanding in between our birth certificate and "Acta de nacimiento". I had to explain the difference in between the two and provide the apostille translation.

The interviewer was very kind and polite. They asked us info about each other, the regular stuff. And they asked for some evidence and we showed everything we brought but they just took some of it and some pictures.

I will post here when we have the GC on hand and maybe clarify on what we need to do when applying for the 10 year GC.

Thank you all for your constant support and help during this whole process!! And happy holidays everybody!

We got approved at the interview (ended at 10:45am).  Got card produced later today by 5:30pm.

Yes! Congratulations! Really good news! Perfect to end this super complicated year on a good note.

Thanks to everybody that is dropping us a message in here and sending us your good thoughts :) Fingers crossed!

  12. @Fe.Ta I don't have a copy of the Affidavit we sent in our original folder (I know.. we were so excited to file in that we didn't make copies of that one) but I'm bringing a new one just because I wanted to add my income in there as well. I don´t know if it's because I'm getting used to it but I found the new Affidavit of support much easier to fill in that the older version of it.

As for originals in general, I prepared a folder with all the papers and copies and another envelope with all the originals just to bring in with us.

Hope that helps! You guys are so close to your interview! Good luck and keep us posted!

  13. Thank you @Fe.Ta!! Yes, I checked and we can ask for "official" copies. It's just that with Covid the next appointment is on February and I tried to make it trough email and it´s just not fast enough. But as you said, if they keep the original, I can still request a new one, so no problem.

Same for us. We gather all the papers and of course we know our dates, our story, so we´re calm but very hopeful and excited to get this over with. Are you taking your old NOAs? I just got the passport, the K1, the tourist visa I had, i-94 and also SSN, EAD, AP and driver´s license.

As evidence we gather same things as you did, and also our 401k showing each other as beneficiaries and our lease agreement.

  14. Hi everybody! Almost completed our folder for the interiew.

@Fe.Ta your interiew is so much closer than ours! how are you doing?

Question! The letter says: "a certified copy of your marriage document issued by the appropiate civil authority."

My mariage license has a stamp in the back that says "certified to be a true and correct copy of the original on file and of record in my office". Do I need to photocopy the one that I have to bring along with the original or do I need to ask (maybe the county?) for another certified copy to bring to the interview?

    Thanks!

  15. We received our appointment in the mail: December 17th.

I am already freaking out so I would be probably asking too many questions here.

So they ask for i-693 if required, report of medical examination and vaccination record. I checked on USCIS for the instructions and I found this:

If you were admitted as a:

    A. K-1 fiancé(e) or a K-2 child of a K-1 fiancé(e); or

    B. K-3 spouse of a U.S. citizen or a K-4 child of a K-3 spouse of a U.S. citizen; and

    C. You received a medical examination prior to admission, then:

    (1) You are not required to have another medical examination as long as you file your Form I-485 within one year of an overseas medical examination; and

    (a) The panel physician did not find a class A medical condition during your overseas examination; or

    (b) The panel physician did find a class A medical condition, you received a waiver of inadmissibility, and you have complied with the terms and conditions of the waiver. (2) Even if a new medical examination is not required, you must still show proof that you complied with the vaccination requirements. If the vaccination record (DS 3025) was not properly completed and included as part of the original overseas medical examination report, you will need to have the Part 10. Vaccination Record completed by a designated civil surgeon. In this case, you must submit Parts 1. - 5., 7., and 10. of Form I-693.

I had my testing done on June 11 2019 and we filled on October that same year. We sent the envelope that they give me during my medical to the embassy and never saw it again. The only thing that I have is a copy of my vaccination documentation worksheet ((DS 3025).

Does that mean that I don´t need anything else on medical? Did I get that right?

    Thanks!

Did you submit the inquiry on the lower end of the range or the upper? For example, our office is between 10 months (we are at 13) and 27 months, so I haven’t submitted anything waiting on the upper range.

I don´t remember exactly what were the processing times for Saint Paul, MN offices but for what I saw around here it was between 10 - 15 months total. We filled on Oct 15th last year and I got my status changed to "waiting to schedule an interview" on April 29th.

When I called to open the request, they told me that if you haven´t got an update for 90 days, then you´re entitled to open one. Of course this does not mean that they will make it happen faster but, I honestly think it does not hurt to open the request and make sure somebody actually opens your case and your folder. I would go ahead and try anyway. Worst case scenario nothing happens. But that's just my opinion.

    Hope it helps!

Congrats! It will take at least a week for the letter to arrive. For me it took 4 business days

Great news! Definitely one step closer :)

Good to know because I am already getting anxious and running to the mailbox every couple of hours.

Something I forgot to mention, I did called and opened a request because my application was taking more time than expected. They resolved it without changing the status but a couple of weeks after I got this change, so definatly worth calling if you didn´t so far.

    Thanks everybody!

  18. Hey everybody!

On Friday, after nine months of waiting I got my notice that my interview was scheduled. The status changed on the page but I didn´t receive any confirmation on the mail stating the date and place yet.

I´m collecting the last pieces of evidence that I can think of and getting ready. Finally.. one step closer!

Will post here when they send me the letter the papers they are asking for in case it was updated.

Unfortunately not...nothing at all, the last time I asked for my status they said there is nothing I can do at the moment, they are not reviewing my case yet 😔

I think I will not have it scheduled this year.

Also when I renewed my NYC ID at the DMV office they only let me do it until my EAD expiration date Jan 2021. I don't know if this also happened to anyone else.

Now doing my paper work to renew my EAD.

Same thing here Fer.. they only gave me my license until my EAD expiration date.

I also opened a case because of the time that it´s taking to process my AOS and they told me I would have an answer in 30 days.... Today they resolved the case but the status is the same "pending interview". I guess we'll see.. If I don´t get anything in the following month I will have to start to get ready for the EAD renewal as well.

  20. 1 hour ago, Fer Schvarztman said:

Hello everyone! Someone has shared not long ago all steps to do the EAD renewal process. (even though it should be automatically done by USCIS) but I can't find it. If someone knows I'll really appreciate some insight there.

Also, I've been checking all my paperwork that needs update for my AOS interview and have some questions (Still have no date or news, but trying to update the case to be ready for anything).

My husband and I did the 2019 tax period on April 2020. Now Fortunately I got a job, so I have to add paystubs, employment letter and anything else?

Adding 7 more months of proofs is making my case paperwork be so enormous I'll need a wagon to carry it to the interview.

Hope we are also blessed with the interview waver, but we all have to be ready. If someone wants me to add all the paperwork I have for the AOS packet interview, let me know and you can check if something is missing in my case or maybe in yours.

Keep the faith, lets all try to get our GCs this year!!

Hey Fer! congratulations for your new job!!! that's great news! 😀

I do not have much information on the EAD renewal. I will do some research and get back here.

If you could post all the info you're gatheting for the interview, that would be awesome just to double check information.

  21. 16 hours ago, Fe.Ta said:

Just saw a post of someone who got their GC, interview waived.  Here is the info:

    AOS from K1

    Submitted August 2019

    Biometrics September 2019

Interview waived and GC July 2020

    Original country Nigeria

    Field Office Saint Paul, MN

That's our office! and that's awesome news. Thanks for sharing! I filled ours on October so.. I hope our case have a similar outcome. Fingers crossed

  22. I'm loving this thread. I think it's so neccesary to have people you can reach out that will understand exactly what you're going through. I think that nobody understands completly what it means until you're here.

I could not agree more on the words patience, communication and space. Exactly those three. It's important to understand (at least it was a game changer for me) that as much as I was going through a lot moving here, away from my family, talking another language and all the stuff that we already know.. my husband was going, and continues to go, through a difficult process himself. He didn't grab not a single beer with his friends or family alone since I am here, just because he felt he had to be here for me 24x7. As much as I appreciate that, I see that he's been devoting his entire life to me and our marriage to make me feel welcome, and cared. And it's a lot. I think at the beginning I was so submerged on what was happening to me that I neglected -not intentionally of course- that this whole transition was a lot for him too. And we are still adjusting to my new routine, work, it's a never ending process that every couple goes trough with the difference that we have some other difficulties like language or culture. Compassion is another big word that I would add.

I was thinking, and I know it's a little bit of organization, but if you guys think it could be a fun idea to share among us and our significant others, I can set a Fibbage  or Quiplash game. Basically you can play on your phone. I will share a zoom conference with the "screen" and then everyone can play on your phones. For example, if you're two people in your household you can open the screen in your laptop and then both can play each one from your phone against other people in another part of the country. I don't know.. I've been playing it with my sisters back home and it feels good, so, let me know your thoughts :)

Hope everybody is safe and healthy!
