  1. That is a very interesting idea. Reminds me of how I see all those little white crosses outside of churches symbolizing how many babies have been aborted during a certain time frame. Always makes me think......

I wish you luck with that.

That's a pretty cool idea. It will sure prove a point when they get thousands of bouquets of flowers!! It's one thing to see how many background checks are outstanding on paper, but a completely different story when they can see tangible proof right in front of them.

  2. Well mailed AOS package on July 27th Received in Chicago July 31st. I just called the 800# and spoke with someone regarding a receipt # to track my file. They told me they are being told to inform people to expect to wait up to 90 days just to receive a receipt #!!!!! Chit Unbelieable.

That is crazy! Hopefully yours comes sooner! I bet you they're overestimating that timeline to cover their butts!

  3. congratulations!

    Thank You!

    Congrats! for both!

if you got approved for at the interview, and you been married less than 2 yrs you will get a 2 yrs conditional green card.

If you been married more than 2 years you will get a 10 yrs card.

both need renewal BUT the 2 yrs conditional one needs to "lift conditions" 90 days before it expires.

    Thank You!!

We didn't had an interview and we married august 5th 2006.

So this is I assume a 2 yrs conditional green card?

Will they let me know when it`s the time?

Or do i keep track myself?

Hi there- congratulations on the great news. It sounds like you've had a crazy journey!

I just wanted to let you know that you'll have to keep track of the date to file for the lifting of conditions yourself. USCIS does not remind you. Mark a few calendars just in case, lol. You will have to file for the lifting of conditions 90 days prior to the expiry of the conditional green card. Good luck & enjoy being a permanent resident!!

  4. Thanks JAshley, I heard it mentioned on here so many times and although I had looked it up a little bit, I wasn't sure if anyone could do that. I may look into it if I don't hear anything for a while.

CONGRATULATIONS on the green card getters, and Maria, good luck with your appointment.

No Problem Winterr....it's a good thing to do if you're worried about your case or you have questions. I've been twice in the last two months and both times they were very helpful!

  5. Today is our 2nd wedding anniversary - WooHoo. Where has the time gone?

We finally had the medical on Thursday which USCIS RFE'd us for, and we will have to go pick it up some time this week and send it to USCIS. After that it's just a matter of waiting and seeing what happens next.

Anyhoo, just thought I'd share our milestone with you.

    hugs

    Annie

    Congrats, that's great!!

  6. Sorry my last post with the following information was removed because I forgot to delete the case number... (thanks to silke to remember that!!)

    but here is again!:

The last processing action taken on your case

    Receipt Number: MSCXXXXXXXXX

Application Type: I485 , APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR

    TO ADJUST STATUS

    Current Status: Card production ordered.

On August 21, 2007, we ordered production of your new card.:dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance:

THANKS TO EVERYBODY, FOR THE SUPPORT AND GOOD LUCK TO ALL THAT STILL WAITING AND WAITING! As I always

    YAYYYYYYYYYY!

  7. My 129F was taking FOREVER- we had filed in March 2006 and still hadn't heard anything by March 2007 (Yes- 1 whole year)- the only thing we got was the NOA2 from the NVC in September 2006. I involved my congresswoman in March 2007, and I had an interview date in Montreal less than a week later. I would strongly recommend contacting them. I guess some are better than others, but it's definitely worth a try.

  8. Y'know - I might of had to sign something, but I cant remember, I've signed so many things in the last months or so!! But they didnt give us any paper work or anything like that.

We didn't get copies of our paperwork either. I think what I am going to do (if I get an interview) is have the bank write a letter and also photocopy our bank cards. We do all of our banking online so we don't have statements. As long as you have other evidence supporting your relationship, I think it will be fine! Good luck!

  9. We had our interview this morning at 1030.

It went really well, we had a great officer. She kept saying how well all of the paperwork was organized (THANK YOU VJERS!!!!)

We were only in there for maybe 20 minutes, she asked for a few things-- my social, my driver's license and Rob's, my passport, which she took my I-94 out of, wrote 'Adjusted to permanent resident' on... and she took my AP paper and gave a bunch of stuff back from my file and told me it was an 'immigration souvenir'. Whee! We had a little chat about the immigration process in general and why things sometimes take so long.

All in all a wonderful experience, and my GC is in the mail!

    :dance::dance::dance:

No more USCIS til May of '09!!!

    That's great news- congrats!

By the way, what did the officer have to say about why the process takes so long? I am curious- please let us know!

  10. Tinker, I was originally booked on the 6:15pm train back to Toronto (it was the cheapest when I booked) but I ended up going to the train station and shelled out some money to change my tickets around. I could have made the 11:40 train if I'd wanted, but I chose to wait for the 3:40 one instead. I wanted to have a little time to wander the streets because I remembered Montreal being a nice place. I'd planned on looking around Old Montreal for a bit, but I got my directions mixed up and couldn't find it! So I basically spent my time wandering the streets looking for Old Montreal and then hanging around back at the train station :P

Oooh, and guys, the visa is HERE IN OAKVILLE RIGHT NOW! I would have it in my hands if I'd remembered to write my buzz # on the envelope. But instead it is sitting at the post office and I have to wait till tomorrow afternoon to pick it up.

    That's so great, congratulations!
