  1. Hi everyone so I am asking this question to weight out options as my family and I were impacted by the Covid-19 directly...is applying for emergency assistance through your county Gov't a public charge? For an example each state allows you to apply for a once every 12 months emergency assistance whether it's to help pay rent, a deposit for housing etc...so I want to know will this count as a public charge if I (the U.S Citizen) apply for it?

    (Brief Background)

My, now, husband came on fiance visa in November 2019 and in January 2020 we got married. We are now waiting to hear back from USCIS for the case results for his Adjustment of status to GC holder....

Everything should be for the beneficiary who is now the actual petitioner. If the petitioner is a new immigrant they may not have credit history or anything but you have to try to get a letter from the credit bureau that says he doesn’t have a credit file. The only thing that’s really about the US citizen is the I-864. The US citizen fills that out and attaches the supporting documents(tax return transcripts, w-2’s, pay check stubs, letter of employment etc to establish that they meet the 125% poverty level.

Thank you kindly, that's what I assumed but with these things you don't want to ASSUME...you have to know....thank you once again.

  3. Hello everyone! My husband and I sent in our AOS application and it was returned back to us because it was missing two forms; I-944 and I-864EZ...I do not understand the process of the I-944...I want to understand very clearly that everything they are asking about is it for the Petitioner (US Citizen) or Beneficiary (Spouse Seeking the GC)...i.e, the credit history, health insurance, use of public benefits etc...I know the form is very new so we are all trying to figure it out but I know some are further along than others. So pls, those who FOR SURE know this form and how to do it pls let me know so we can move forward with our process

  4. Hello all! I have a question...

My fiancé had his interview on 29 October 2019 and passed. He was then given a white paper with instructions for picking up his passport etc.. today is day 6 (counting business days only) and I know they said wait the 10 business days but our status is STILL saying “Your passport is still at the embassy/consulate”, it’s been this way since 30 October with no changes... please is there anyone in the same boat or WAS in this boat and how long did it actually take for the status to change?

I hear others mentioning AP or “Administrative Processing” but ours is not saying that either..

    pls help..advice is welcomed! Thanks

  5. Hello all!

My fiancé had his interview on 29 October and was passed; consulate officer took his passport and other docs needed and gave him a white paper with instructions for pick up at the DHL; HOWEVER when I go to the website indicated it’s not really saying much . Right now it says passport still at embassy/consulate...will this later change to AP? As I have heard many people speak of going on administration processing for a few days and for others months..

  6. Hello! THANKS IN ADVANCE! 😁

  7. I have sent my fiancé all the required documents to do his interview however (I don’t know how), but I managed to leave out the I-797 and we are left with 9 days to his interview ; he will not receive it on time...does ANYBODY know if GHANA EMBASSY accepts photocopies of the I-797??? Or would they request him to provide it at a later time but still continue the interview?

    Hello ,

please I need your advice and help, I got my case number in August, haven’t been able to book my interview yet, anytime I try booking, it says “no interview dates available” . And also, my petition will be expiring in November 7th. What should I do, will they extend the date or what?

Hi dear as far as I know they will extend it when it is expired, as for your interview have you filled the ds-160, paid the fee and then try to schedule it via the link sent in the instructions?

  9. Hello all; I have a question.

When I submitted I-129F I used my fiancé physical address for the place mail should be sent just to later find out that postal service in Ghana at your house is not really that common or great. If I want to change his address to a P.O. Box pls how should I go about doing that? We received our NOA2 on 20 June 2019 and currently waiting to hear from NVC with the new case number etc...

I believe ur case is a k1 ryt then this is what’s next

-Your case will be sent to nvc and a case n invoice number will be generated for you

once u get that case number, ur case will be sent to Ghana 🇬🇭 and u have to wait for instructions (packet 3) from the embassy on your nxt steps

-after u get the packet 3, you pay the immigrant fee at GT bank, fill up the ds160 form then schedule your interview

    Thanks dear

Average wait time from when embassy receives the application is 6-8 weeks.  Average time to be sent to Ghanaian embassy from NVC is 1 month.  Therefore applicants should expect 3 months from NVC till receiving the P3.  Interview slots are very limited for this embassy, so it is advised for applicants that believe that they are a "strong applicant" to proactively schedule their interview date three months out to secure a date and time.

These are all my learnings thus far through the painstaking  process......

Wow, thank u so much, I will be using this

Old site (also the data source for all 'USCIS case tracker' apps): https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do

Newhttps://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/ (you have to create an account and add your case # to it)

Neither is more reliable (and it's very possible you won't see anything on either, and will have to just wait for the physical mail). For a while it looked like they were phasing out the "old" site, but that trend seems to have reversed itself and there are still lots of cases that show up on only one (or much earlier on one than the other).

We can't opine on which is more accurate. Your mileage may vary.

Thank you so much! Kind of figured it might not be any more accurate than the one I’m using already, but just for curiosity purposes 🙃
