Great!
I will follow your help regarding the address. Also just got off the phone and booked a test for Monday in an authorized Civil Surgeon near us. She said it will cost $140 for Physical test and if my husband can't show any immunization records then it will cost around an additional $500 for the vaccination!! I wonder what vaccination he might need without any records. Is that a fare price? Thanks
Go a San Diego county health clinic for the shots. Take that shot record to the C S later. My shots were to cost over 300 but I paid our clinic 23 dollars.

In order to send I-864EZ out, you need to attach the tax return form from IRS with it. Which form do you have to get it?
Best to send tax transcripts. If you send return include all supporting docs.

Hello i just filed a dcf here in mexico. Should i wait for that to go through or can I file for a spousal K3 visa as well??
Best to wait. The DCF should be faster while a K 3 is obsolete and would be converted later anyway.

First of all no one is going to ask her to surrender her Thai passport for anything. Only the Thai govt. can do that. We just traveled to Thailand twice in the last couple months. In both cases, my wife entered the U.S. on her U.S. passport, and entered Thailand on her Thai passport.
As far as getting her U.S. passport, we did it here in the U.S. and it took about 2 weeks to get the passport in the mail. It took a week after that to get the Naturalization certificate back. You have to give them the original. It sounds like you're in a hurry to get back to Thailand ASAP, but if you could wait a couple weeks, she'll have her U.S. passport. If not, it comes in the mail. Have someone at the address forward it to you via Fedex to Thailand.
Not sure about the D C area but when I received my Nat cert after the ceremony the passport office had a desk right there where we could apply for passport. We did so for my daughter to allow her to become a citizen. The passport arrived within about 2 weeks as Karee says.

Hi I have a mother who is extremely ill, with high risk surgery in her near future (a month's time) and I would like to request for my brother who is in Vietnam to visit. He has strong ties in Vietnam (with 2 kids, a wife and a running business).
What is the process for this application? Do I reach out to to the American Embassy in Vietnam or do I apply through the land of security in the states?
What I have:
- A letter from the doctor, listing all her illnesses that would make it difficult for her to fly to Vietnam
- A copy of my passport
- A letter requesting for my brother's visitation due to the circumstances
What else do I need and where should send these papers? How much the application would be?
Thanks!
Diana
He applies on his own. You can send the evidence for the medical situation. Your passport has nothing to do with the application.
These visas always hinge on the persons ability to prove they must return. Many people have left houses and even kids behind but if that is what he can show it will have to do.
I believe the fee is still 160 dollars.

well i have a house in morocco, i have a store , i have my own company, and i also work for an entrepreneur in morocco and i can have all papers which is about ,paper of work and paper of salary and papaer of a vacation and all of these things but i am afraid if i apply and i will get rejected
All you can do is apply using the things you mention here and see what the outcome is. I had all those things to but was denied but of course you are in a different country ect. Prepare any evidence you have and submit it with the application if you can.

I own my house. Its 10 years into a 30 year mortgage. I just don't want to start it over
I have her on credit card and I have her on the bank. Don't know what else to do .
My husband put me on the house loan with a quit claim document.
He had me open my own checking account with which I qualify for a secured credit card in my own name. In a few months I can change that to unsecured credit card which I will use only to create credit history.

have any moroccans got a tourist visa ? if yes how difficult it is ?
Very difficult. People that did get a B 2 understood the strongest ties rule. This means you must prove beyond a doubt you MUST return. If you cant do that you will be denied. Keep in mind all people holding any type of visa are considered intending immigrants. You have to offset that idea with proof you must return.

Hello everyone!
If we are over the time frame and contact our congressman to help expedite for NOA2 will that interfere on the next step as getting the interview scheduled for instance? Would we have any kind of problems for asking the congressman's help for NOA2?
I appreciate all responses and help!
Your politicians can not affect the timing of your case unless you can prove you have a serious problem that fits the criteria for expediting a case.
The USC in the case can contact these politicians by finding their web site where a form is downloaded & sent in requesting help. They all have staff members trained to placate people. They will make a call & inform you that USCIS is working on your case. Doing that will have no affect on the future of the case. USCIS is used to people not understanding these politicians are the same ones that haven't done anything to reform immigration law in over 60 years.

Hi,
I just found this forum. I hope somebody can offer advice. THANKS.
I have a temp green card. My current and soon to be ex-wife sponsored me. She is an american and I am irish. We knew each other for nearly two years before we got married in california, we have been living there. The problem has been her kids, 23 and 26. It seems she divorced her first husband because her son, then aged 23, now 26, had an argument with her then husband. The two kids are very controlling of their Mom and on occasions we have had several people in our marraige, the kids, their friends and her Mom. She has spent the last weeks crying in bed and afraid to answer calls from her kids, even their emails.
I am not at home. I came to SC to help my daughter who is ill - she has young kids and they are moving house. My wife was happy that I was going to help and she was to join us later this week. Out of the blue, I got an email stating not that I should not come back and that she wants a "no-fault divorce."
She will not talk to me, is sending my passport and temp green card. Does not answer emails. Am kind of lost here.....
If the divorce goes through what are the implications for me in a "no-fault divorce" please.
I am kind of in mess at the moment, minding two young kids and moving house. My daughter is in hospital and her husband has moved down to take his new job - so kind of limbo at the moment, also nobody to talk it through with... Hope all this makes sense.
Thanks
Of course this is unfortunate but for you there are positives too. Her sending you the passport & green card is very good, File the ROC asap.
The implications of the divorce are dependent on the length of the marriage. No fault means there is nothing you can do to stop the divorce. In Ca a short term marriage is less than 7 years. In that case material items gained during the term of marriage are divided equally. Again depending on the length of marriage you could ask for alimony. Its possible to divorce with some simple documents if each agree to this procedure. My husband suggests you contact the clerk of the court where you were married to obtain these docs even if its for your own review.
Your daughter in SC? Is she your biological daughter?
Of course your wife was happy to find you were leaving because it provided an opportunity to do what she did. Still its good to get through this so you can get on with your life.

Get prepering your mind , just in case after the interview they put in administrative processing.
I dont know what is more frustating, if waiting for the interview date or wait in ap after your be approved at the interview
Relax and prepare your mind.
Egypt is infamous for the amount of cases put into A P which I think is worse because people cant get any info at all during that phase. Hopefully it wont happen in the case at all.

Yes we are signed on to our account. I just read some cases where the petitioner wasnt notified of an RFE. Even didnt receive a hard copy.
The hard copy is required to be sent back with the evidence requested before any further action will be taken on the case.

It has been 10 days since i received my NOA2 and a few days since i received my paper version. I called NVC this morning hoping to get my case # but they have not yet received my case... They told me to give them 25 business days to receive my file and generate a case #. This seems slower than normal, no? I definitely filed at the wrong time! Almost 6 months at USCIS now a slow NVC process as well!
I know 10 days is still kinda early but my understanding was that the wait was about 2 weeks to get a case # not 5.
If you check here on V J you will find that your situation isn't that different. You'll be lucky if 25 days results in a case number. Lets hope so.
You didn't file at the wrong time; you just don't understand yet how long this journey really is. So far your case is in line with what we see many times here on V J.
Keep in mind USCIS & NVC are working on about 2.5 million cases. What you see on V J represents a only a small fraction of the total cases in process.

Update...
In Feb, NVC said that they returned the packet to USCIS for further review (No interview date was ever set) and would not provide any information about why it was returned.
USCIS said they never received the packet back from NVC. I contacted USCIS in Feb, March, April, and May about every 2 weeks and they claimed that they never received the packet back from NVC. They opened up an investigation but said they were not able to find anything and promptly closed it again saying that I needed to contact NVC. So essentially USCIS and NVC pointed fingers at each other for the past 4 months while our packet said somewhere outside of both systems.
I wound up contacting Texas Sen. Cruz's office to see if there was anything they could do to at least provide us some information on why it was returned in the first place. I'm not sure if this prompted anything or not, but yesterday we received a letter saying that the package was re-approved and forwarded to NVC for processing.
What a waste of time...
I doubt what you have been told is correct. My case went thru this exact same thing ending at 408 days.
If your Senator did anything to affect the situation they could tell you what that was. Again I doubt anything was really done by that office.
USCIS places a bar code on the case in the final step. That action finalizes the case. The case is then bundled with others and forwarded to NVC. In time NVC scans that code into its system which means they recognize the case.
I dont know why NVC would send it back to have it reapproved. If they did it seems USCIS would have sent an RFE to you. These things are hard to understand and very frustrating. The good thing is that you now know where the case is & that it wont be long until it is sent to BKK. NVC doesnt need much time on a K 1.

I also filled out the I-864 affidavit of support. I hope they will accept it at the same time. My hope it will help to expedite the process. Has anyone else tried the same thing?
You didnt fill out a timeline so its impossible to know where you are in the process.
When you say you are dropping off this info does that mean you are filing a DCF case?
It would be a good idea to make sure your situation and relevant questions are clearly stated or the responses you get may be useless.
Not following the accepted procedures at the correct time may lead to confusion by both parties. The timing of the info flow is designed to bring the info together at the right place and time.

you could teach IT stuff at a 2 year school in USA, easily, i think but must apply for those gigs.
i'm an IT jockey but usually I run a company doing software development contracting or branding. I'm retired now and mostly clueless.
I think the idea of teaching is good. My husband is head of security at a school and says the school is looking for teachers in several different areas. There are at least 20 job openings right now but of course these require a certificate. The school district has positions for people that assist teachers and those people do not have to be certified. If someone takes such a job the district will help them thru the certification process if they want to become a teacher. The district also employes I T people. There are other districts in our area that are searching for teachers as well. At his school there is at least on person from the U K right now.
If the O P is interested send me a P M for more info.

dang...so what you are saying is that i should just keep on waiting? and keep on calling the nvc asking them if they got it yet?
There doesn't seem to be an absolute answer to these events but what I said is what we learned while struggling to get thru the maze. Its very hard to deal with. V J creates a place where we can attempt to provide info based on experience in hope we can help.
Its just too hard to sit and wait so I suggest you try everything reasonable keeping in mind what I related here. It may help keep you sane enough to get thru this. I just don't want you or others to think their case is lost. Its incredible that some cases seem to move along at high speed while others like you see here seem totally lost and the people can get no useable info.
Call as you wish. Contact politicians ect. All of that will at least serve to allow you to feel you have done all you could. If you uncover some aspect we don't know please post it.

Haven't met a Brazilian yet that could not understand and communicate in at least in some Spanish... But Miami airport will have many that speak Portuguese as well...
My husband worked in Colombia where they spoke Spanish but his project has many Portuguese people as well. He says you are right that they all seemed to understand each other to some extent. I don't think this young man will have any serious problems.

Yes, some people did not get an update regularly. When I got approved for my I-129F, I did not get any update via text or email. I found out the approval via USCIS website. This is really weird situation for the OP though I knew some member got her case number almost 2 months after approval. For me, I got my case number 2 weeks from approval date shown on USCIS website. I hope the OP can figure out how to solve her problem.
My friend G from C please read and learn as I did. You will be able to help others rather than cause more concern. My case went thru all of this which is how my husband obtained the following info directly from officers at USCIS in person.
The O Ps case is not lost. Her problem is not what she or you think. The real problem is lack of info. That is caused by the system which is dysfunctional in this important area. This causes people a lot of anxiety and pain.
When a case is approved by USCIS the last step is a bar code that is placed on the case file. That code is for use at NVC. USCIS then bundled with others and finally shipped to NVC. That bar code placement means to USCIS that they no longer have the case so checking with them may produce the wrong answer and cause the appearance that they have lost the case.
Once a case is sent NVC it arrives at the mail center. Cases may simply sit there for a time. During that time the case may seem lost at NVC as well. Until the case is scanned into the NVC system they do not recognize that the case is there. It isn't lost; its in limbo.
If an inquiry is made during these times it may reveal a false sense that no one can find that case. This creates a situation where we see people trying desperately contact these politicians ect. Their efforts are so far behind by the time they actually do anything that what they say may be old news. I have no faith in these politicians at all when it comes to immigration matters. They are in fact the same people that haven't done anything about reform for the entire time they have been in office.
In my own case we never got any info from USCIS, NVC nor a U S Senators office even though my husband sent the 9 letters they asked for. They never responded to one. He had to return to the USA twice to sit down with USCIS in two different offices in two States to obtain the info I have given here. In the end my case took a long 408 days.

Not sure how Spanish will help, he is coming from Rio.
Probably will find people that speak Portuguese as well.

My wifes grand nephew is traveling from Rio to Houston leaving Sunday. He is 17 and has never travelled on airplane alone. The grand parents on fathers side bought him ticket on AA requiring plane change in Miami. His English is limited. Why they didnt buy a ticket on United directly to Houston on nightly non stop is beyond me. Probably to save 50 bucks.
He didnt have any trouble getting visa.
Does anyone think he will have any trouble in Miami. If he had come directly here I might have had a fighting chance. No one I have talked to thinks this was a good idea going thru Miami.
My husband has gone thru Miami many times and says there should be no problem because they are used to people from S America passing thru. Also most airlines have people to help guide customers from gate to gate.
The good in this may be that he will gain experience in these matters. If not you may find him living in Miami.
He should be fine. A friend just sent her three daughters (15, 12 & 8 ) to Thailand with at least one stop. They experienced no serious problems.

I just got the e-mail to pay the IV Fees for the last stages of my wife's Visa process... We have been preparing everything ahead of time, to get this done quickly. I paid it, and just waiting to have the payment clear so we fill out her Visa application and send in her civil documents. I had called NVC 2 weeks prior to ask what exactly is needed, since they did away with the whole packet 3 and 4 steps. The first time, they told me copies, and scans were absolutely fine since the original would be brought to my wife's interview, but this last time, I was told, only originals along with an extra copy will be accepted then she would need an additional copy of each to bring to her interview. Needless to say, my wife isn't exactly excited about this, since it took a month to get the Police Clearance, and she only has ONE original Birth Certificate which is as old as her and not in the greatest of shape. Still whole and intact, but slightly faded and fragile. We absolutely do NOT want to chance sending the original. She wants to keep safe in her plastic protector, in her possession. My wife said something about making copies of her police clearance and birth certificate, and getting them stamped at the embassy to prove a real copy... But when I tried to find answers about this, NVC usually declines them, but then when submitted again for a second time they accept it for some reason. Mixed answers about this. But would this be accepted over the original? After the multiple mistakes and mishaps due to both USCIS and NVC we are extremely hesitant. Thanks guys!
As far as I know the embassy doesn't stamp docs at any time. They expect to see original docs. She cant hand carry those to the interview but should notify them she will do so.
I can tell her from experience she will need several certified copies of her B C to use later in the remainder of the process. Its very difficult to obtain these from the USA. She should also have several copies translated to English. Certification of those is the addition of a simple statement at the bottom of the doc indicating the translator is competent in both languages.
Hopefully Karee will chime in here because he knows a lot about this subject too.

Okay, I have a good one for y'all and looking for opinions please. 3 days ago (Monday), our request for an expedite through the NVC was approved after sending in 5 different medical records showing the emergent necessity. Well apparently some people from the Ministry of Interior came to my husband's apartment building today and asked many people about my husband's character. His neighbors replied that no he is a good man, he doesn't start trouble/fights, etc. So my question, is this a regular practice in Egypt or elsewhere? To have an agency scout out potential candidates for a US visa be thoroughly checked out. I just never heard of such a thing!
Currently we are now waiting on an interview date and time. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
It is a good one because you can see that they are preparing for the case to come to interview. This method may be unusual but so is the circumstances in the case due to expedite situation. Whatever the reason if it only serves to limit of eliminate the dreaded A P we so often see in the MENA cases it would be good.
Form needed for my daughter

You can apply for a U S passport for her using your citizenship status. Or you can apply just as you did for yourself. The difference is money and if she becomes a citizen by getting a passport she wont have a citizenship certificate.
If you apply for the passport for her make sure you send everything they ask for including your new citizenship certificate.
