My biometrics appointment was not today but on 09/22, my status didn't update to fingerprints taken until probably 10/09. And it even says in the notice "as of October 2" 🙄

I filed in late March and NOA date is 04/14. My biometrics appointment was originally scheduled for early August but they apparently sent it to my old address so I missed it. I called them in late August when I found out and they rescheduled to 09/22.

It looks like almost everyone who's EADs are getting approved had their biometrics appointment in August. Is there anyone that didn't upload their timeline and had their biometrics in late September and already got approved without expediting?
My appointment was on 09/22, case status shows they were applied on 10/02, PD is 03/30/2020.
I'm slowly losing my mind 🤯

Just got off the phone with them and now got my appointment on 09/22. I'm still upset because it's such an unnecessary delay but I'm also relieved.

I've impatiently been waiting for my biometrics appointment in Austin TX for months now but only decided to call USCIS last week after I heard about someone that filed the same day I filed having their appointment this week.
So last week I called USCIS and was told not to worry, everything looks good and my appointment should be scheduled within the next two weeks.
I decided to call again today and was told my appointment was scheduled and the appointment notice was sent out on July 28th and that I missed my appointment. The lady said luckily my case has not been closed yet and now I'm waiting for a Tier 2 officer to call me back. I hope they will actually call me back..
I moved in June (just up the road) and they sent me a confirmation to my new address. Also USPS is forwarding mail to our new address.
I'm so upset but not surprised.

Hi, has anyone received their biometrics appointment in Austin since they reopened the ASC?
I recently moved and I'm worried the letter might get lost in the mail.

I have been trying to get driver's license but apparently DMV needs i-797 (not i-797C) to give me an approval for the license (Even though USCIS support center told us i-797C can be approval too). So I guess I have to wait 😕
What state are you in? I'm in Texas and just got my lawful presence verification in the mail. I went to the DMV with my i-797C and they submitted the request to UsCIS. It took about 12 days and now I'm supposed to go back to get my license. My only problem now is that they don't have any available appointments until December 🙄

Did I get this right? Surrendering your German license cost you $2500?? Why is that? Is that a new thing? The first time I surrendered my German license in 2014 it was completely free. I only paid the Texas DL fee.

I don't think he can get it if he's already here but I really don't know for sure.
To be honest I'm not really sure how important the international driving permit really is. I feel like they just mentioned it because I told them I have a valid German license and the international permit. So I'm just carrying it with me just in case...

Texas DPS even told me that I can drive up to a year with my foreign license and an international driving permit.

Ich konnte leider heute nicht anrufen, hab aber eine Mail geschickt und gesagt, dass ich ja als Auswanderer keinen deutschen Wohnsitz mehr haben werden und folgende Antwort erhalten:
"Bei den Adressinformationen in unserem MAWISTA Expatcare Tarif muss es sich nicht zwingend um Ihre eigene Adresse handeln, hierbei kann es sich auch um die Adresse eines guten Freundes oder eines Familienmitgliedes handeln. Hierbei geht es lediglich darum, dass der Versicherer Ihnen im Notfall auch Postalisch wichtige Schreiben (reiner Notfall) zusenden kann."
Die Antwort gefällt mir aber noch nicht und verwirrt mich. Ich werde da morgen anrufen.
Edit: Wenn ich mir den Antrag anschaue, sind der Versicherer und der Versicherte zwei unterschiedliche Personen. Daher muss der Auskunft nach lediglich der Versicherer einen Wohnsitz in Deutschland haben. Ich hake da nochmal weiter nach.. 😅 -

Das hab ich auch gelesen und danach gefragt, aber sie sagte am Telefon, diese Versicherung ist für Leute, die auswandern und ihren Wohnsitz ins Ausland verlegen geeignet, geht aber über 5 Jahre nicht hinaus. Gut, nun wurde mir beim ADAC auch was falsches gesagt. Die Dame sagte mir auch, dass ich zum Vertragsabschluss direkt bei Mawista nochmal anrufen soll. Das werde ich auch tun und dort auch nochmal nachfragen.

Das nennt sich MAWISTA Expatcare. Ich habe auch gerade dort angerufen und zumindest am Telefon wurde mir versichert, dass ich die ohne Bedenken abschließen und ich mich bis zu 5 Jahre damit versichern kann.

Ich habe meine Unterlagen jetzt alle über "übersetzernetzwerk" übersetzen lassen. Scanst ein, schickst hin, kriegst ein Angebot zurück, wenn du es annimmst, dann druckst du das aus, unterschreibst, machst ein Foto davon, schickst das zurück, kriegst eine Bestätigung, überweist das Geld und dann ist es nach 3-4 Tagen im Briefkasten... bin mir nicht 100% sicher, aber ich glaube, mein Hamburger Abiturzeugnis hat 100€ oder so gekostet. Ist aber nicht evaluiert, steht wie gesagt nur eine Fußnote vom Übersetzer dabei, mit was das gleichzusetzen ist.
Ich habe mal gerade geschaut, bei der Allianz steht ja sogar wortwörtlich dabei, dass die Versicherung für Auswanderer geeignet ist. Das wär ja eigentlich eine gute Option!
Das mit dem ADAC ist enttäuschend. Ich hatte dort extra angerufen und die Dame hat mir versichert, dass mein Immigrationsstatus denen egal ist und sie mich bis zu zwei Jahren versichern würden.
Danke für den Tipp, ich denke beim Abiturzeugnis lass ich es auch auf ein RFE ankommen. Ich werde es übersetzen lassen mit der Fußnote und wenn das nicht reicht, sollte ich bis dahin mein Bachelorzeugnis auch haben und lasse beides noch zusammen evaluieren, wenn nötig. -

ich hatte eigentlich vor mich mit der ADAC langzeit Auslandskrankenversicherung zu versichern, bis ich irgendwann arbeiten kann und mich durch den Arbeitgeber versichern kann. Würde mein Verlobter mich in seine Krankenversicherung aufnehmen, würden wir uns dumm und dämlich bezahlen. Mit dem I-944 bin ich jetzt aber verunsichert. Eigentlich bin ich damit ja besser versichert, als so manch anderer da drüben, denkt ihr die zählt?
Außerdem wollte ich fragen, ob ihr nen Tipp für mich habt, wo ich mein Abiturzeugnis "günstig" übersetzen lassen kann? Und wo ihr es evaluiert habt?
Da ich gerade erst meine Bachelorarbeit abgegeben habe, werde ich bis April, bis ich AOS beantrage, mein Bachelorzeugnis sicher noch nicht haben. Das heißt, wenigstens kann ich mir die Evaluation dafür erstmal sparen... -

Are there any known reasons for some NOA2 to take longer than others? Our NOA1 date was 04/03/19 and seeing all these petitions from late April or even May get approved makes me really nervous..

my fiancé is currently working on our K1 application but we're struggling with some of the sections. Especially the employment and address history sections.
These are our questions:
1. What exactly counts as a physical address? When you signed a lease or only if you officially registered at that address? My main issue is that I was an au pair in the US and lived with a family but at the same time I was still registered in Germany. Same when I did a 6-month internship in the states. So do I write down my address in Germany that I was registered at at the time or my addresses in the states that I stayed at for the duration of my internship and au pair "work"? Also, I had a registered secondary residence (my mom's house) while having my dorm apartment as my primary residence. Do I mention that?2. Regarding the employment history: do I mention my au pair "job" and my unpaid internship in the states here? I did another paid internship in Germany, do I mention that? Or that I am a full-time university student? I've never had a real job, so what of the above does apply to the employment history section?
3. Do you recommend consulting with an attorney about filling out and filing the form or is it unnecessary? I'm not really worried because we have collected lots of supporting evidence in the past 4 years and have seen each other 8 times in the meantime but the form is really hard to fill out because sometimes I'm just not quite sure what they want to hear and I read that the denial rate has increased lately mainly because of misunderstandings like that.

Not really. I also had two appointments. I had to schedule a seperate one for the I-131 because the appointment notice was only for EAD and AOS. I think I called them in early September and they scheduled it for 10/03. I don't know why they have time to give me two appointments and others have to wait for months... I'm sorry!
