So I just received my full birth certificate but stupidly only ordered 1. Can I send a copy and take the original to the interview or do I have to send the original?
Thank you

I also received a RFE today for this but I only sent the short copy so I've had to order a full. Does anyone know how long it will take after an RFE to see if its approved? Also does this mean that everything else I sent was correct?
Thank you!

Hi,
Does anyone know how long EAD and AP are taking to get approved in MD?
Thank you

The EAD instructions are cumbersome because there are so many reasons and categories. But start on top of page 20.
https://www.uscis.gov/system/files_force/files/form/i-765instr.pdf?download=1
The list of required evidence is there and very short.
Thank you, so no marriage cert req in this section?

For self employed a complete tax return is really the only way to prove income. He doesn't have an employer to get a letter from, nor does he get regular pay checks to submit. It's better to get a free tax return transcript from the IRS to submit over photocopying his tax return. This explains transcripts and how to get them online, by phone, or ordering by mail and provides links to order https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/how-to-get-tax-transcripts-and-copies-of-tax-returns-from-the-irs
The passport isn't part of the I-864 form for your spouse. If you have a joint sponsor who will also do a separate I-864, include their passport to prove they are a US citizen. They already know your spouse is a USC.
Thank you. I dont need to send my marriage cert with the EAD and AP too do I?

Your original medical report was in the white envelope your turned over when you entered the US. It goes to storage until you apply for AOS. Then your "white envelope" files are ordered and added to your AOS file.
You can make a photocopy of your DS-3025 Immunization sheet from the clinic if it shows all the shots needed for AOS are done. That reminds them you did get your shots completed and would not need an I-693 medical form from a US civil surgeon. Your original DS-3025 is already going to be in your file with the rest of the medical report so it's not an actual requirement to send a photocopy.
Some years back, those opening the mail used to send an RFE if they didn't see a report from a civil surgeon so the Immunization form became a reminder of sorts to them that you are a K1 that doesn't need a civil surgeon as long as the shots were complete. They don't do that RFE so much anymore because USCIS has said the civil surgeon's report does not have to be in the AOS application but can be provided at the interview.
Thank you so much, that makes sense. Also what evidence do i need to send with the I-864 form? Just the tax returns and a copy of his passport? He is self employed.
Thanks again

I'm sure lots do it that way and don't get an RFE. My logic just told me to organize it as a clear distinction of three applications. You're probably fine.
Hey, me again!
Do i need to send any proof of the medical exam i had in England?
Thank you

SOME things need duplicating like 2 photos with each, passport and visa photocopy with each, I-94
The I-485 AOS packet is by far the biggest with marriage certificate, NOA2, the affidavit(s) of support, birth certificate, shot record from Knightsbridge, etc. ...things not needed with the EAD and AP. The official USCIS instructions to the EAD and AP applications do list what goes with those.
Thank you so much, do i need to do a cover letter per packet or just for one for the whole? It's a little confusing because visa journey make it sound like the whole thing is just one application but of course its 3.

The problem I have with the Visa Journey checklist (https://www.visajourney.com/content/k1k3aos) is that it looks like one big application. There are three separate applications to file that get mailed off in the same envelope. The second two are optional, but free when filed with the AOS, and useful.
I 485 Adjustment of Status
Evidence ncludes items #3-11 of the checklist
I-765 Employment Authorization document
Has it's own evidence so repeats some from AOS 4, 4a, maybe 6, 9
I-131 Advance Parole travel document
Has it's own evidence so repeats some from AOS 4, 4a, 6, 9
I
I was hoping you would see this post and reply so thank you!! I was wondering this, so all the evidence needed for each of the 3 forms does need duplicating?

I very strongly advise you to file the I-131 and I-765 along with the I-485.....
Hello,
Do i have to file the I-765 worksheet with my I-765 form? This is so confusing me. Sorry for all the questions!

Yes, once you have an approved Advance Parole document (after approval of the I-131)....Right now, it takes about 4-6 months.....after filing.
Thank you, on the I-131 it asks for intended countries to visit should i just put the UK or are you also allowed to take vacation on AP? It also asks for dates to visit, I am unsure of this as of yet, do i need to give a date?
Thanks for your help

Yes. With AP you can leave before getting your green card and come back to the US to continue it. If you leave without AP during the process of getting your green card, you will not be allowed back into the US and the process will automatically end.
Perfect thank you. Yes i definitely don't plan on leaving without it.

Ah I see, so it might be a bit risky if I book the medical before actually having something official. Although, could an email from the NVC confirming that it is my LND number be enough for them, just in case?
All you need is "a letter/email from the embassy or NVC to confirm your case number and visa category"
-
1 minute ago, Wuozopo said:
You do not get an "approval" from NVC. Your only approval came from USCIS. There are three things that will have your LND number printed on it.
- Notice from NVC to American fiancé saying the approved petition has gone to consulate in London.
- Instruction letter from London to British fiancé saying they have received the approved petition.
- Your CEAC online status
I never said the letter came from the NVC. I said you need the letter to take to your medical appointment.

Letter of approval? Do you mean the petition approval (NOA2) because that is the only "approval" at this point and it doesn't have the LND number written on it.
I received one saying my fiance petition had been approved (along with a copy of the i129F) and to go to the website and follow the instructions. This letter had my case number on and my medical appointment asked for it.

I've got the case number from my fiancee when she called the NVC. Will that be enough? Or will some sort of written proof be better?
Does it start with LND? You don't need anything in writing till the day of your appointment which you just take the letter of approval.

As I understand, the wait for the medical appointment is close to a month. I didn't realise that at first and makes our wait a whole month longer, a month we didn't plan on.
Is there any way I can book the medical with my embassy case still at the NVC? What would I need to book the medical despite my packet not being in London yet?
Hopefully it can be timed right that the medical appointment is only a week or two after the embassy sends their letter inviting me to setup the interview/sort out the medical.
As long as you have the case number you can book

Hey All!
I got APPROVED yesterday! The Embassy barely asked me any questions.. The officer looked at nothing but my Affidavit of Support. He didn't wanna see any tax/employer information!? He asked how and when we met, that was it...? I cannot believe how many hours I spent stressing about a 40 second interview!
Currently on AP on CEAC website.. I think it should move pretty fast as @LukeU seems to be pretty confident for me (BTW hes a legend!)
I booked my flights yesterday!
Can't believe this is finally happening!
Congrats to everyone who got approved recently and good luck to those who are getting ready for interviews!
Congratulations!!

Hi - I was just curious if the Health summary from the GP is absolutely necessary. Going off the required documents from the uk embassy website attached, it only specifically mentions the vaccination summary. I’ve just read horror stories of difficulties trying to get these health summaries so I wanted to be sure if it was necessary for medical or interview.
It's a new requirement so not yet on there they will explain this to you when you book your medical. It is 100% required and your medical will not be completed without it now unfortunately. It's your medical, you have every legal right to get this from your GP. I didn't bother with calling etc as they can push it to the side. Put it in a letter and they have to give you these records by the law. 😊
