A classic lesson of READ THE INSTRUCTIONS.
It’s at the top of the very first page…

No, you will not get the i-90 fee back.
And there it is... A slap in the face... expensive lesson... Thank you

Look at the category on her current GC...what are the first 2 letters? Are they CR or IR?

If your date of marriage is 2 or more years before the “resident since “ date on the gc, I-751 must not be filed.
Its not, this is the first time we've had to renew or remove conditions... we are inside of the first two years of the green card.

LOOK at her current green card - what expiration date does it have? Did she enter the US before or after 2nd marriage anniversary?
If you applied for I-90 when you should’ve done I-751 Removal of Conditions that’s money down the drain - you will not get that money reimbursed.
While at it, complete your timeline.
She entered the US and then we got married...
I have a feeling that the money is down the drain unfortunately.
Definitely will still complete the timeline... Thank you

Okay, so my wife is closing in on her green card expiring in November. We knew that action was needed, so we went ahead renewed the green card, which costs $535.. We've already gone to the biometrics and it should be here in a couple of months.
A couple of weeks ago we received a call to action to fill out the I-751, which is to remove conditions...
Now I feel like we should of waited to receive this call to action because the I-751 costs $595...
What I fear is that we applied to renew her green card, when we should of waited to receive a call to action and remove the conditions...
Can someone verify that we made a mistake? And can we rectify the mistake by contacting USCIS with the mix up? Or is the I-90 & I-751 necessary to stay in the country...
Anything information would help. Thank you!

Hey everyone,
I am reaching out on behalf of my wife (K1 Visa Applicant). Currently I am in between jobs with no health insurance, and my wife is possibly pregnant. I have just started doing research on what types of actions I should be taking, but I thought I would throw this out in the Forum because it is usually very helpful. The status of my wife is that we have received the EAD, but we are waiting on her social security number. I call Social Security and the Department of Homeland Security application is still pending. No surprise there, but I really want to get ahead of this health insurance issue, and figure out what my wife is eligible for, and how we can be prepared to take on this pregnancy with few issues.
If anyone can share helpful tips or advice, that would be much appreciated.
Thank you,
SamNadia

I have looked high and low for the rescheduling policies for the US consulate in South Africa and I only get redirected some where else and find nothing...
does anyone one know the policy of rescheduling interviews for SA?

You send it to your fiance to take to the interview.
Yeah so where the confusion lies is that my fiancé and I are in the medical and interview stage, and my sister filled out the I-134.
My my sister sent the package somewhere, and now that we are reading through things we need that I-134...
My sister did this without my knowledge and the reassured me that she sent it to the right place, these things didn’t add up but I let it go.
Now she is confused cause she doesn’t even know where she sent it or where she was to do so...
so so with all the paperwork she did. She will need to do it all over again and then send to my fiancé?

where do I send the I-134 affidavit if my fiancé is going to the US Embassy in South Africa?

For the payment method. Does it matter who the check is written from?
I am abroad and sent my packet to my friends in the states for them to write a check and send it in.
Just want to make sure that will be okay.

There was an option I was thinking about doing....

After reading numerous things on money orders and where/how to send in your I-129f packet, I would really like clarification or guidance toward what I should do. I am a PC volunteer in Mozambique, and I am trying to submit my paperwork now, so that the packet can process while I am still in country. My concerns are if a money order from Mozambique would work, and my fiance has suggested using DHL to send the packet which I know is an option.
I have read so many different things, so I don't know what the protocol is on these types of things. Anyone have experience filling out the K-1 visa from another country?
Sponsoring Niece 18 years old to live with us
in Bringing Family Members of US Citizens to America
Posted
Hey Everyone,
My wife (GC Holder) and I would like to sponsor our niece (18yrs) to come live with us to ultimately experience something new. There are many ways for our Niece to come to the US (Student, Tourist, Nanny, etc.) but we were wondering what the best route was to get her here, with the potential of her staying the longest.
I hesitate a student visa, because she does not know what she wants to study, and I do not want to put that debt on her.
Tourist visa is only 6 months, and we would like to see her longer than that.
From my understanding being a nanny, you could live here for two years, but not sure how that logistically works, and if we could have family be our nanny through a visa process.
Hoping for some insight into our options with the maximum amount of time for her stay.
Thank you!
