  1. 01/19/2021- I drive my wife (applicant) to the Application Support Center only to see a closure notice outside. I check my wife's case status and it says the Biometrics has been rescheduled and they'll send a notice in mail and send request if not received by 02/15/2021.

02/15/2021- We never received reschedule notice so I go online and request notice; they finally email! "Thank you for your request: USCIS will review and process the request. Expect a reply by March 9, 2021."

How does a three (3) day office closure delay processing by fourty nine (49) days?

Is there a chance we are going to miss the rescheduled appointment waiting for the notice that never comes?

    Thanks in advance,

    Chengbert

Hank already laid out  what to do. Been through it. Get the PH Passport for your son. It's cheap and quick. The ECC can be expensive because the Philippines will look at him like he is a foreigner that overstayed. You'll end up paying penalties on top of the cost for the visas for each month since his birth, plus the cost of ECC clearance. Not to mention the time cost of that. I've had to get ECC three times for myself.

If you then want to bring your son out of the Philippines without your fiance, there is another step. You'll need a DSWD travel clearance. Sounds like you won't need that, just letting you know that you can.

It’s always good to have a contingency plan. Thanks for additional info.

Never listen to "the niece".  ;)

Yes to getting the Philippine passport for your son .. avoiding the ECC fee is worth the effort.

No, a Philippine passport does not mean a dual citizen needs a visa to enter the USA  ... after all he has a U.S. passport.   Like said .. never list to "the niece".

For your son - Present both passports when checking in at the airport for the flight to the USA.  At POE in the USA present only the U.S. passport.  (it is the law that USC must enter the USA with their U.S.  passport)

Why should you apply for the Philippines passport?  When existing the Philippines with the child having the Philippine passport will remove the ECC fee that would be charged if the child only had the U.S. passport.  The ECC fee can amount to thousands of dollars.

Once you have the PSA copy of the birth certificate take that and a completed application to DFA.  Minors 7 years or younger do not need an appointment.

Hank_, thanks for the speedy response. We are working on getting his Philippine Passport now.

  4. My Filipina fiancee's visa expires January 8, 2020 so we are planning to fly together to the US on December 20th; she will get her CFO-GCP done November 25. We have a son together who is 1 years of age. He has his CRBA and US Passport; I've read he will either need a Philippine Passport and/or Emigration Clearance Certificate (ECC) in order to fly out. My fiancee's niece told her if he has a Philippine passport, he will also need a visa and I'm thinking ah geez, that may take some time like hers. I just want our family together. Can someone please tell me what we will need here? Mr. Greenbaum said a "HANK" would be able to get me the current requirements for our son in the Philippine subforum. I'm not really great at navigating these forums. Your help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I had posted this same inquiry in another subforum before finding the regional so here might be better place to ask.

Happy birthday to you fellow Gemini and fellow June 2 ❤️ !

I don't know if it is different for Manilla because I don't have the same advise ( I'm from Belgium). I would wait to receive package 3 to fill in the DS-160 and schedule the medical check and the interview. Next step is for us to receive the Package 3 and follow instructions in it.

    Kind regards

Happy Birthday to you as well. I submitted DS-160 already; I probably should have waited but I did ask the embassy about it and they said it is fine because it is good for 6 months, it was all information that we had anyways, nothing that would change between now and instructions. But I will wait for Package 3 as suggested; what was Packages 1 and 2 though? Thanks!

She can't be married to anyone to be eligible for a k1.

Yes of course. Yes but what if she got her passport while she was married and under the same page with that "NOTE: Data on this page must match the information as it is written in your passport." I am not so sure Marital Status is even on her passport; I think this question is on the wrong page with that note but I didn't write the form, I just know if something is not right then it is wrong and will cause delays, etc. If there is no other answers I'm just going to go with putting her Marital Status as Single on that page. According to this form I'm wrong either way but I think I am more wrong puting in there what her status was when she got her passport as that leads to the "Name of current spouse" question later, if that makes sense.

  8. Kamusta kayo!

My case file has been shipped from NVC to US Embassy in Manila. So I am filling out the online form DS-160, K-1 Visa, for my fiancee in the Philippines and have a few questions...

Under Personel 1 it reads "NOTE: Data on this page must match the information as it is written in your passport." On the same page, under "Marital Status" do I chose her current status as being "Single" (she was annuled)? When I chose "Married" as she was at the time she got her passport, another page comes up later asking me who is she currently married to? which is a loaded question to be asking because now she is married to noone! When I chose "Single" I am able to enter in her fiancee's (me) info and her previous spouse's info. I think I should put "Single" here as "Marital Status" even though at the top of the page it says "NOTE: Data on this page must match the information as it is written in your passport." So what should I do here put "Single" or "Married"?

    Thanks in advance!

Is yours already "in transit"? We're the same date of NOA2. My NOA2 was April 26 as well. Thank you so much.

I have tried to check via CEAC but the captcha wont display for me so I am stuck not being able to enter it to prove I am not a bot. Anyone have this trouble and know of a workaround? Yes, our timelines are very similar and we are very blessed. Thanks.

  10. Called NVC today at 9:02am ET, chose 1 for English then 2 for Invoice #. Sweet lady answered at 9:45am, gave me my case and invoice numbers and congratulated and informed me as many of you have been discovering about yours that my case has been sent to US Embassy today. She also advise that I contact US Embassy tomorrow or Thursday, maybe better, to make sure they have received. Thank you so much to Popeye lookalike @Greenbaum and others for giving all of us hope in this process. Good luck to you all!

The items in the first post are experiences of myself and others. It's about 5 years of helping people get through this process without any problems.  You can choose to ignore the information because you don't trust it, but you will lag behind most others in getting your visa. Just saying. All your questions are answered with the first post.

    Thanks for all your help.

  12. We received our NOA2 Approval on 04/26/2019. It came quickly; one of many blessings counted. I have not yet received any correspondence from NVC. First instruction of original post is to update NVC with email etc. although I am hesitant because nowhere in the approval notice does it say to do that. It does say however to contact NVC within 30 days (of what?) by email with the same information if we have not received any correspondence from NVC. Should I contact NVC now or wait a few more days for the mail or update my email on the site linked in Step 1 of original post? Thanks in advance.
