    Hi Kyle

I’m sharing a post from VJ that says scanned copies of an original signature are acceptable (the original question pertained to the letter of intent however the UCSIS policy applies to all forms submitted to them, which includes the I-134. Your fiancé can print, sign, scan and then email to you and you then print and bring to the interview).

Wet signature for the letter of intent isn't necessary.

    Signature memos: https://www.uscis.gov/news/news-releases/uscis-finalizes-guidance-signature-requirements

Here is the relevant part of the memo:

"A signature is valid even if the original signature is later photocopied, scanned, faxed, or similarly reproduced.Regardless of how it is transmitted to USCIS, the copy must be of an original document containing a handwritten, ink signature, unless regulations or the form instructions state otherwise. 3 USCIS will not accept signatures created by a typewriter, word processor, stamp, auto-pen, or similar device."

Thanks so much! I found so much conflicting info, but this definitely helps a stack! now it's just the wait for the interviews to open up, waiting a week now and nothing has opened up yet...

  2. @greenbaum or anyone else who might have some experience with the Consulate stage, I have checked multiple times, but since I got my P3 from the consulate they have had 2 different update dates on my CEAC status? I have been waiting for interview appointment date since last week thursday, South Africa seems to have a unique process where you have to check back online all the time as the K-1 interview dates aren't in abundance from the NVC

what do the more recent update "dates" refer to on CEAC?

    Any info regarding this?

    Not quite correct.

W2 form is the form  an employee gives the employee at the end of the tax year showing the employees income deductions tax paid etc

    1040

is the usual tax payer prepared tax return form

Transcripts  are the IRS records of a tax payers tax return

Thanks for the info I will keep that in mind.

    Hello! Congrats!

What do you mean by tax transcripts? Our attorney told us to gather tax returns. What exactly is a tax transcript? I see on the IRS website there are return transcripts, record of account transcript, account transcript, and wage & income transcript to download.

Tax transcripts are the summarized version of tax returns, more short and sweet otherwise known as W2 forms. But you can take both with if you have them.

  5. Hi all, I got a call from the Consulate yesterday, they asked to confirm my e mail address CEAC status is "ready". Did this happen to anyone else and what do I expect from here on out? not sure if I should, call, mail or just sit tight? Should I expect P3 soon?

    Thanks

Does the embassy need the paper version of the petition before they send out the information letter, or is it enough for them to have received the electronic version? I'm asking because I'm tracking the package on the DHL website, and for some reason they are too late to deliver it to the embassy every day 🙄. My status on CEAC was changed to ready a couple of days ago though, so I'm guessing the embassy here already received the electronic petition.

Best advice i can give is keep an eye on your CEAC status and when it updates again, then you know the embassy has received your paper copy and should be in touch soon, that's what happened to me today

  7. Just an update for those still waiting,  I got an E mail from NVC stating my package was shipped out on June 11, but no ways to track it on DHL, got a phone call from the consulate here this morning asking to confirm my e mail, I suppose I will get P3 in mail today then sometime.

CEAC status also shows todays' date as the last updated, meaning they are obviously working on it. just FYI, CEAC is quite prompt with updates

That's because they receive a electronic version before the paper file which causes it to go to "ready" status.

Does this affect the time frame? could you be able to schedule your appointment sooner than later because you dont have to wait for the embassy to get your hard copy in the mail?

Just curious, Today is a public holiday in my country and my case shipped out last week Tuesday

  9. So I received a letter from the NVC saying the documents left on the 11th, but I can't seem to track the whereabouts on the DHL website, whats the usual time frame from shipping out of the NVC to the consulate acknowledging the receipt and sending me packet 3? I'm not too familiar with the process as the JHB consulate website is very vague on the K-1 Process?
