  1. Hi all, just checking in, how long did you wait for your EAD after it was approved? I have my GC interview 15th of Jan but to my surprise my EAD was approved too, just curious as I’d like to renew my Drivers license which has expired (no luck with renewal as I had no paperwork other than I-94)

    Thanks

  2. Hey everyone, hope you’re doing well! Just curious for those of you who have been through the AOS process, but how long after your status was updated to “ready to schedule interview” did you get your date? Seems like most timelines are around a month five or take?

Any advice on what would be good for the interview, thanks! Appreciate it...

  3. agreed! on another note, does anyone have advice on how to extend their drivers license? I have a limited term now for 60 days and i used my NOA1 docs from my AOS to extend it, but they now say i'll have to come every 60 days and extend it a further 60 days until i get either my EAD or my GC... any advice, I'd appreciate

    have a good weekend further.

Can someone tell me if they really do require a "wet" signature on the I-134 forms (we have a joint sponsor so there's 2) or if they'll accept a scanned signature?

At this point in the process, spending nearly $150 to ship documents via DHL or similar to SA isn't in our budget and I'm hoping others may be able to assist before I spend the money to send.

    Interview in Johannesburg

Hi... no need for wet signature, I had my fiancé sign and scan the copy to me. No issues... don’t need to worry about that

Our CEAC status changed to issued today and I'm so excited!!!

For those with their visas already in hand, how long did it take to receive the visa in mail after being "issued"

Good luck to those still waiting!

How long after your interview did status change to issued? mines currently in Administrative processing, I am expecting around a week for things to get moving, hence why I booked flights out around 2 weeks from now

  6. Visa approved! overall great experience! things went so quick, was out in under an hour!

to all the other members having interviews coming up, all the best! if your paperwork is in order there will hardly be any difficult questions!

So grateful and blessed through this whole process, now on to the next step, wedding bells!!

Sounds good! Don't forget your 2 passport photos (2in x 2in / 5cm x 5cm). It's the first thing they check before you actually enter the consulate building. Best of luck, and don't stress! Everything will go smoothly :)

Yes, good spot, I however do have those already yes! thanks to everyone! i'll keep you posted with the outcome tomorrow!

Thanks 😀 shame my fiance beat me to it, I just woke up its 6:30am here 😉 I'm sorry that you had to wait 2 weeks and the other guy 1 month (can you please let him know too?) But glad you're finally able to make an appt! My fiance Pam is going on the 24th so perhaps you might meet her there too 😀

FYI (after reading your previous post) I also emailed the consulate directly om Monday explaining that I am continually not able see appointments to please provide additional assistance. They actually seemed very helpful and replied back just now stating that they opened up more appointments. God is good 🙏

Awesome stuff! I will look out for her, what time? 1pm? My Fiance was just as elated as I was! finally one step closer and I'm exceptionally excited! I'm all ready and waiting patiently for the 24th!

All the best going ahead for the rest of the process!!

Hey , its been a week right now and my status still saying In Transit  . I went to DHL website and it says every International shipment takes from 1 to 4 business days and when I try to track with references ( I do it like the pdf said on page 1 ) it shows me this !!

Haha USCIS still says my case has been received, I don't think it's worth getting stressed about these online updates, just stick to the timelines you get on members from the same country in sub-forums... My DHL also never updated (no tracking at all)  and 3 days after the expected date of arrival I got my P3. try spelling June as just Jun so for eg. EXP 25 JUN 2019A

Yes, myself and another member are awaiting K-1 interview dates are waiting for them to open up dates. I tried calling the immigrant call center but they always tel you to keep checking the site, I’m waiting 2 weeks now and the other member is waiting a month now.

I created a new topic on this specific issue

Apologies for the bad grammar and English there, I was preoccupied whilst writing that, serves me right for not focusing... However  I did try calling them multiple times, you can call the consulate appointment call center for the JHB Immigrant unit, but they can only help you as much as the website does, no dates on the website means they wont have dates either... As frustrating as it is, it's simply hurry up and wait

    Hello,

Has anyone recently had issues scheduling the K1 interview on the provided SA DOS Visa application services website with a repeated statement "No appointments available, check back in a few days and the Consular section will open up more appointments"? When you call their number they will tell you the same thing. Calling the consulate directly only yields an automated reply.

How long has people waited for prior to a date becoming available? Should we expect a matter of days vs weeks before something shows up? My fiance's (who's in PE) petition expires in the second half of August, and its been repeatedly said no dates available.

    Thanks!

  13. Hi @Liez I think they only say you need an appointment as the medical is valid 6 months and you need a valid medical to do an AOS after marriage, so they don't want you to do it too early and wait for a long time before your interview, but they are not really busy by the looks of it, the JHB doctor does many medicals for other countries too, shouldn't be an issue, just take 4 days into account as you need to go back a 2nd time for the results and the physical. I just took a chance and they seemed to process it, going back today for my results and follow up, please let me know if you get an interview as well, I'll keep you posted from my side! praying for some movement this week! haha

The I-134 is never submitted to USCIS. it is only submitted to/reviewed by the embassy/consulate for the visa. The embassy/consulate are under DOS (not DHS like USCIS), and use the FAM as their policy manual instead.

I can't recall any recent stories of an original I-134 or supporting documents being required. DOS has published a memo regarding copies of the I-864 (the legally enforceable Affidavit of Support) being acceptable at NVC, but I'm not aware of anything specifically stating this applies to the I-134.

That said, the end result is the same - scanned/printed copies for the I-134 should be fine unless documentation from the embassy or CO requests otherwise.

Thanks so much for the info, so if I supply the typed out I-134 and scanned copy of my sponsors signature then I should be fine for the interview?

    Thanks
