  1. Question regarding the "Intent to Marry Letter" required at the interview.

Do we use the same template as for the one provided with the I-129F (but for the petitioner only)?

i.e. "I, XXXX XXXXX, do hereby state that I am legally able and willing to marry XXXX XXXXX, and intend to do so within 90 days of "her/his" entry into the United States with a K-1 Visa."

    Thanks!

11 days from consulate received to first "ready" and then a status update 2 days later, which we later saw was the date listed on our snail mailed P3.

Interestingly, the CEAC status changed to "Ready" the same day it was delivered, on April 5, 2019. I thought that our application would finally know a quick processing time for one part of the process since every other stage has taken longer than usual with our application. I was wrong! Nothing has happened since. It's been 18 days since the "first Ready".

I memorized our WAC pretty quick from all the checking.. luckily my computer remembers this case number for me so I don't have to type it anymore 😂It would be nice if they made the difference between lower case and capital letters in the CAPTCHA more noticeable though 🙄

You don't need to worry about lower case and capital letters in the CAPTCHA. You can just write the letters without paying attention to whether they are upper case or lower case.

I still can't believe this happened and it makes me wonder how often it does... Lolol. You had ONE JOB, DHL. At least they were speedy enough on correcting it!

    I know, right?! Hahah!

How long did it take for your CEAC status to get to ready after the shipment was delivered at the consulate? I know it can vary. But I just want to have an idea so I'm not constantly checking on CEAC.

Wait WHAT?! Is it really in PR??

Oh my god. It really is. Wow. What a huge screw up.

    Yup.

At least it's technically not a huge delay. Since the consulate is focused on the previous shipment. Hopefully they'll be done with processing the March 19th applications by the time ours come in.

I may be mistaken, but I believe NVC works differently in regards to spousal visa cases. They may get sent at different times than the K1 ones. Your best bet is to call them for an update and keep track of your case on CEAC website.

I didn't realize this wasn't for a K1 (I'm on my phone and didn't check the timeline). Sorry about the misinformation I provided above!

All looks right to me. Don't worry too much about it, it will probably be available soon.

It's in Puerto Rico (the shipment from NVC). 🤣

It's funny because everything that can go wrong with our application is going wrong. Hahah! I can't help but laughter about it at this point. We are already too late to marry as planned.

PS: I had to enter EXP 02 APR 2019A ("02" rather than just "2").

    Hi there.

Thank you for that update.  I wondering if there is a way to know what cases are in the package?  I was documentarily approved by NVC on March 7th, but have not heard anything about an interview yet.

    Thank you,

    Eric.

If you call the NVC, they will let you know if your case was sent. You might have even been included in the March 19, 2019 shipment.

Do you have your MTL Case Number yet? If not, call to get it. And ask if your case was forwarded to the Montreal Consulate. And ask what date.

If you haven't provided your email address, do so when you call.

Check out the awesome helpful tips here, directions are in the first post: https://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/699642-march-2019-k-1-noa2-nvc/

Shout out to @Greenbaum for providing these tips each month. :)

I did see this and tried "EXP 2 APR 2019A" but it's not giving me any result.

I just saw that it takes up to 24 hours for results to show. Oopsy! My bad.

Also for March 19th shipments - The three tracking numbers on the shipments were

    • JD0030110676178346
    • JD0030110676178347
    • JD0030110676178348

And they were signed for by a "C Wayne" Thursday, March 21, 2019 at 14:09 if you need that extra info to help MTL actually help you.

How do we find the tracking numbers? For the April 2, 2019 shipment.

Hello all. I am trying to complete the DS-160 application, and I came across a section that I hadn't seen the first time around. The section also cannot be accessed when I click forwards through the application, only if I click backwards through it (I know this sounds crazy). The section is for previous work and education. Below is a screen capture of this section. The thing that I am struggling with is that when I input my previous work or education, it won't save. I feel like this is a software bug, and maybe this isn't supposed to be in the application? Did you guys have this section in your application? any issues with saving your info in it??

I did not have that section; I completed the DS-160 yesterday.

I wonder if it depends on what you write in "Work/Education Present"; i.e. I have been at the same job for 2 1/2 years, and maybe they did not require previous work/education because of that. But maybe because of what you wrote for your current information they require more information about previous work/education.

I'd be curious to see everyone else's answers and hear about their experience!

My date finally changed and I sent in P3 today.

However, I just realized that my NOA2 expires on May 21st.

What do I do? Do they care? Do I just try to get a date before then? Is that unlikely at this point?

The consulate has authority to extend it. I was told by both USCIC and NVC not to worry (ours expire June 5; it just left the NVC today after a long wait between USCIS and NVC rec'd).

I'd say it's unlikely for you to get an interview before May 21st given the above information that interviews are being scheduled for May 22nd and 29th in Montreal.

For thoes of you who have received your NOA2, how accurate was the anticipated date provided by Visa journey? We are in the process of making some decisions about schooling and while I know there is never a guarantee it would be nice to know if that anticipated date is one we can use to guide us.

It changes all the time. For us, the timelines were not accurate; it took longer than what was estimated (6 weeks from NOA2 to NVC received (rather than the estimated 21 days at the time, which is now 29 days). Others who received their NOA2s after us made it to the NVC and the consulate before us. There is no way of telling really.

The timelines seem to be shorter now, and people who submitted their I-129F 3-4 months after us have now caught up and are at the same stage as us (we filed in July). But the tables could turn and the timelines could get longer.

Hi there I am applying for a K1 visa. I got my case number and invoice number from NVC and when I login it just says k1 visa is required to fill out DS-160. I have filled out DS-160 and completed it but I still haven’t been given a option to pay fees or do form DS-261 to choose agent. I really want to get the ball rolling and pay my fees so my case can move forward. When I select OK it just brings me back to the login screen. Help! And thanks in advance

You will only be able to pay the fee once you have received the P4 from the consulate and are able to schedule your interview.

Did you receive an email or letter stating the the NVC has received the approved  i129-f? That letter should have a case number starting with MTL

No. We still haven't received anything. We know they received it on March 19, 2019 because I called and they confirmed that it was received.
