  1. I am getting conflicting information from mumbai consulate.

I called DOS about 3 times and each time i was told that my case was received by mumbai consulate and packet 3 was sent out. Also, NVC told me that case was received by Mumbai consulate.

After emailing mumbai consulate about 3 times i get finally got an answer that states

"Your case is archived at the National Visa Center (NVC) in the United States and has not yet been transferred to our office. Please contact the NVC for more information by sending an e-mail to NVCA@state.gov or by writing to 32 Rochester Avenue, Portsmouth, NH 03801-2909.Your case is archived at the National Visa Center (NVC) in the United States and has not yet been transferred to our office. i am confused whom should i believe?

  2. i am not talking about bribing a CO or something but i am sure u can find a lawyer or someone (in india) who will help you obtain the marriage certificates. remember your marriage is not valid unless you have the court certificate and marriage certificate.

Another way would be to call Department of State ask them to guide you. they have more jurisdiction over some of the process.

  3. i called DOS a few mins ago the lady was extremely helpful. She told me that mumbai consulate has already sent out the packet 3. I asked her what if we do not receive the packet 3. She answered that i could obtain the packet from their web site. to which i asked so can i go ahead and send in my ds-156, ds 230, etc (as listed in step one of the packet 3 instruction) she said yes you can. just make sure you do not send in other documents refering to tax papers, pay stubs, etc.

    woohooo

then called my wife she said she has not received the packet 3. so we are going to go ahead and send in papers stated in step one of the instruction package.

  4. i am thinking about telling my wife to go ahead and send in packet 3 papers to mumbai counslate.

    1. is it ok to do so without receiving the packet 3? NVC told me that counslate has already received the paper work (don t know exactly when?)

    2. for packet 3 we only have to send in DS - 156, DS 230 (with only first part filled out), copy of passport pages, copies of marriage certificate (to show change of names), birth certificates (which is scholl leaving certificate), and lastly 2 passport size photos of her.

do i need to send in any thing else with it?

  5. you will need court certificate from india and marriage certificate from india. you must have them! ask your significant other to get these for your....its sort of hard if you are not in india with him.her since you both have to sign those papers. however few thousand ruppees goes a long way.

  6. i just called NVC regarding wether our file had left NVC to go to Mumbai counslate. They answered yes it was. So then i asked can you tell me when it was received. The lady told me that they cannot tell give me that information.

So only thing i know is that Mumbai counslate has received my case but when?

Also, how can I find if the packet 3 was either mailed or will be mailed to my wife? as in the date it will be mailed or it was mailed?

    please help!

  7. if your petition were approved in the last two weeks of may, has your loved one(s)received packet 3? specially, if they were to receive it from Bombay (mumbai) counslate.

please, answer with when you were approved, when did your significant other received the packet 3 or 4 or interview date, as well as from which indian counslate.

    thank you so much!

  8. as you guys i also have need to send my visa related document to india (gujrat) what is the best way to do so?

Is it really expensive? some guy at kinko quoted me $80 for 2lbs of paper work via fedex. i probably need to reduce some weight but didn t think it was that f***** expensive.

    advice, suggest please

    raj

  9. adhi i would suggest that you include your moms tax papers too eventhough she is not a co-sponer. it probaly will help and i am sure it won t hurt in any case.

    Question:

are you including your dad's W2 as well? or just tax transcripts? what other documents are you sending from the co-sponser?

    thanks
