Hello family I am a long-time member for this group, I was placed in removal proceedings back in 2016. Back in 2018 my VAWA was adjudicated. My lawyer filled a I-485 with a judge in Dallas TX. (Texas Service Center). Judge asked me to come back in 2020 for my individual hearing. Hearing never happened because COVIC. So finally, back in NOV 2021, District Attorney and my lawyer agreed on terminated proceedings and Judge granted me a green card on 11/22/20.

20 days later I got an INFO PASS appointment on 07/12/2021 here in Norfolk Office when I got my passport stamped with a temporary green card. I has been more than 30 days and I have not received my hard copy. I have tried to called USCIS, they told me that they cannot give me any information due sensitive data, also I tried to due an inquiry on I-485 filled in 2019 but I made a mistake and now I have to wait a month. USCIS rep told to write a letter to Vermont with my inquiry. Asking if anybody is dealing with the same situation? Any ideas? I almost forgot I also told the agent that I need a call back so I can ask about my case.

  2. Hello Fam!

I Have been a silent reader since my case was approved in 2018. Since then I have been working with EAD under C31 until I had to filed for a I-485 in 2019 and I cannot use C31 anymore. My last EAD is set to expire in April 22th this is year.  I have filed for my renewal back in November 22th last year, my last update says:

As of December 3, 2019, fingerprints relating to your Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization, Receipt Number EACXXXXXXXX, have been applied to your case. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

This is under C09 category, now I understand I cannot have the 180 days extension Due the renewal is under a different category and also . Does anybody know how to prioritize my case? What documents should I send to Vermont?

Now I week ago the processing time in Vermont office was between 3- 5 months now it changed to:

     4.5 Months to 6.5 Months

Based on a pending I-485 adjustment application [(c)(9)]

    September 01, 2019

    Thanks.

It took 19 months and one RFE ( good moral character). The attorney you went to is an idiot and don't listen to her. In my opinion you have strong if you have all of those evidence. Good luck 😇

In the next hearing the Judge  will decide if you have any ground of inadmissibilitaty and if you don't have  then he will approve your AOS.He will revoke your case just if you lied or misrepresented any fact to the USCIS or if you remarried before VAWA approval or if a new  fact in your story comes up and USCIS was not aware about that.

    Thank you Sandra

I’m in similar situations. But I don’t have master hearing  yet. Not even the court system. May I ask...

Did you apply for any relief in order to get a work permit on that day?

I wondered you have to wait for your next merit hearing 1.5years. Will you be able to get a work permit during this time?

@HopenycI got my work permit after my vawa was approved this last  October 2018 I just have to keep renewing it until I get my GC

i was working without a work permit for almost 2 years.... lawyer told me after you got approved notice you will get your work permit back... but i have read here some people  got their work permit before or even after  a denial in I-485 / I-130 (withdrew)

I am in a similar situation, my court hearing is in Dallas in June. But I'm still waiting for VAWA approval. Based on what my attorney said the judge should not reject your 360 if it's already approved.

Quick question, the hearing you have next year is that a "Individual hearing"?

Yes it is an individual hearing for my I-485 this judge here in Dallas it’s special.... I’m going to put it that way

  8. Hello All,

Quick recap of my case. Can you please advise?

I have been in removal proceedings since 2015, I have gotten my I-360 back in October. I had my last master hearing here in Dallas back in February when my attorney asked the judge that we are ready to file I-485 with the court since my 360 was approved  the judge said ok.

Judge asked me a couple of questions like:

    ·         Have you leave enter the United States illegally?

             I have not

    ·         What was your port of entry that you were admitted?

    I said Atlanta

    ·         And then he asked why did you overstay your visa?

    I replied I don’t know

Also judge asked my attorney that if there crime that barred me from relief, she said NO. He have had a DWI back in 2014 and he already paid the price to society (case closed back in 2016)

Based on that my hearing of merits is going to be next year. I don’t know what to expect…. have anyone in this forum AOS in front of a judge?

    My questions are?

•Can he denied my I-485 I understand he has jurisdiction on that? If the answer is yes any reason that you guys know?

I have also know that he can ask  questions about my approved vawa (my case) in details im scared if I said something wrong he can revoke my approved I-360 vawa

    Thank you in advance

any similiar cases in this forum?
